I just saw this on Catholic Planet . I just has to repost it as its one of the most interesting things I have ever read from Medugorje: During a recent Q & A session between Mirjana and English-speaking pilgrims at Medjugorje, and in response to a comment by one of the pilgrims about sharing the same birthday as Mirjana, the visionary responded: Great people were born on the 18th of March. But I never have my birthday because that is the day of the apparition. And many people have the wrong opinion about it. They feel that Our Lady comes to me on the 18th of March because it is my birthday. She doesn’t come for sure for that reason because she never said to me Happy Birthday. When everything starts happening, then you will be able to understand why the 18th of March, why every second of the month, why Wednesdays and Fridays are days of fasting, everything will be clear.
In Medjugorje, Our Lady appears annually to Mirjana on her birthday, March 18. It’s been said that this date is significant, but not because it is Mirjana’s birthday. The Blessed Virgin Mary first appeared to St. Catherine Laboure on July 18-19, 1830. Mary gave St. Catherine the mission of the Miraculous Medal. The apparitions in Garabandal occurred from 1961 to 1965. Our Lady’s first message was on October 18, 1961. Her final message was on June 18, 1965. Message of October 18, 1961 Many Sacrifices must be made. Much penance must be done. We must pay many visits to the Blessed Sacrament, but first of all we must be very good. If we do not do this, punishment awaits us. Already the cup is filling, and if we do not change we shall be punished. Message of June 18, 1965 Since my message of October 18, 1961 has not been complied with and has not been made much known to the world, I will tell you that this is the last one. Before the chalice was filling now it is overflowing. Many Cardinals, many Bishops, and many Priests are on the path of perdition and they take many souls with them. To the Eucharist, there is given less and less importance. We should avoid the wrath of God on us by our good efforts. If you ask pardon with your sincere soul God will pardon you. It is I, your mother, who through the intercession of St. Michael, wish to say that you amend, that you are already in the last warnings and that I love you much and do not want your condemnation. Ask Us sincerely and we will give to you. You should sacrifice more. Think of the passion of Jesus. Darrell
It will not be long 'til the cioincidences concerning the 18th will be seen as holy coincidences. Thanks, Darrell. I have not noticed those connections before. Let us continue our cries for God's Mercies to fall!
Also, John Paul II was born on an 18th; he died on a 2nd, and Mirjana has her monthly apparition on the 2nd of every month. Darrell
Here's another coincidence: on SpiritDaily just now, I saw this Report: Pope's N.Y. visit to be April 18
I wonder why the good Lord settles on the 18th?? I recall at Fatima the significance of the 13th. Also I always took Wednesday and Friday to be settled on the Church's tradition...Wednesday for Ash Wednesday and the entrance into the Passion and Friday for the Passion itself.
March 18 (3-18) “I advise you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white garments to put on so that your shameful nakedness may not be exposed, and buy ointment to smear on your eyes so that you may see." Revelation 3: 18 This verse is directed to the Church in Laodicea--lukewarm, materially prosperous, but in spiritual poverty. Reminds me of modern western society I wonder too. As Padraig knows, I originally thought March 18, 2009 would be the date of the Warning, but now I think it is more likely that Ron Conte is correct and that it will be on Good Friday, April 10, 2009. On the Feast of Our Lady of Fatima, May 13, 2006, in prayer occurered to me that this would be the date of the Miracle. I did some research, and here are some thoughts I put together back on November of 2006--I shared this with Padraig last year... Matthew 13: 13 it says, "This is why I speak to them in parables, because 'they look but do not see, and hear but do not listen or understand." In Medjugorje, Our Lady tells us to recognize the signs of the times. October 13, 1884 a vision that Pope Leo XIII (Leo 13th) had on October 13, 1884, in which he supposedly saw demons and heard the atrocious, guttural voice of Satan boasting to God that he could destroy the Church and drag the world to hell if he were given sufficient time and power. According to the pontiff, Satan asked for between 75 and 100 years of enhanced worldly influence and it was granted. Leo was further given to understand that if the devil didn't accomplish his purpose in the allotted time, he would suffer a crushing and humiliating defeat. It was after this alleged vision that Leo penned the famous prayer to the Archangel Michael. October 13, 1973 Akita, Japan. There, a nun named Sister Sasagawa claimed she was told by the Virgin that if men did not repent – if we didn’t get back to God and in a hurry -- fire would “fall from the sky and wipe out a great part of humanity.” May 13, 1981 Pope John Paul II shot by assassin. Exodus 13 The Israelites are instructed to eat only unleavened bread for seven days. The Medjugorje visionary Mirjana has stated that when it is time for her to reveal the secrets, she and Father Petar will fast for seven days. A permanent sign will be left in Medjugorje. God led the Israelites be a column of cloud and a column of fire. “Neither the column of cloud by day nor the column of fire by night ever left its place in front of the people.” A foreshadowing of the permanent sign? Isaiah 13:13 For this I will make the heavens tremble and the earth shall be shaken from its place, at the wrath of the LORD of hosts on the day of his burning anger. Chasitisements to follow the Miracle? Ezekiel 13: 13 “Therefore thus says the Lord GOD: In my fury I will let loose stormwinds; because of my anger there shall be a flooding rain, and hailstones shall fall with destructive wrath.” Chasitisements to follow the Miracle? I don't speculate too much since Ron published his articles. It really struck me the other day how this really is a time of grace for us to prepare for what is to come. Darrell
Padraig, It's very interesting that you should post this just now, as I have been corresponding with Chris De Bodt this past week. I invited Chris to come to this forum. Don't know if she will. Chrissie impresses me as being sincere and humble. She seems very sure that the Warning will be on the Feast of the Ascension, May 21, 2009. Then this morning, after I dropped Isabella off at RE, I was driving to meet with a spiritual friend as is our routine, and I saw in the sky the chem trails of 3 planes that had crossed and formed a cloud in the shape of a giant "A" Darrell
Reflections. Darrell, Paul tells us, "...For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face." (1Cor 13:12). I feel in myself a healthy tension. The day of my reckoning (i.e. personal judgment at death) could come during this night as I lay me down. It is for that moment that we must be vigilant for there will be no room for second chances or repentance. For those of us who have proven faithful and have run well, this face-to-face experience will culminate in the Beatific Vision! The Day of Repentance, though a precious moment of mercy for the Faithful, is an unprecedented gift of loving mercy for the wayward, confused and lost. It is offered to the anawim, who, for perhaps the first time, will be swept up in the arms of the Father through repentance and forgiveness. The dark veil of the Evil One will be rent and Light will stream forth! Col 1:13 He has delivered us from the dominion of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sin. Oh, what a day to behold; my anticipation is almost painful. I ache for the sake of those who know not the love of Jesus. I long for that Day to come as Christ longed for His Hour to come, "..and how I am constrained until it is accomplished." (Luke 12:50) My conversion and the release of the Holy Spirit in my life is over 30 years old, and yet very vivid to me even now! The Day of Repentance rushes upon us, so close, so very close! You, and Padraig, and the others who communicate on this and other websites, see what is ahead. Let us be heralds for Our Lord: bold at certain times, prudent at certain times, but always filled with passionate concern for souls out of love for Jesus. Pray that I do not hestitate to reach out to them! Mary weeps over them! May I capture her tears to wipe away the blindness, not of the masses, but of the few God places on my path. To those who fail to perceive the Lord's love and mercy, the threat of Chastisement produces only fear or scorn. But a soul flooded with the grace of His Presence will stand strong in the midst of that storm. Tonight, I renew my pledge to be a bondservant of Christ, an instrument of his peace, and an apostle of the Gospel: "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe the good news!" (Mk 1:15) Thank you both for the encouragement you bring to me. God bless us one and all! In the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
Thanks Terry. He answered them, "It is not for you to know the times or seasons that the Father has established by his own authority. But you will receive power when the holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth." When he had said this, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him from their sight. While they were looking intently at the sky as he was going, suddenly two men dressed in white garments stood beside them. They said, "Men of Galilee, why are you standing there looking at the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven will return in the same way as you have seen him going into heaven." Acts 1: 5-11 But he, filled with the holy Spirit, looked up intently to heaven and saw the glory of God and Jesus standing at the right hand of God, and he said, "Behold, I see the heavens opened and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God." Acts 7: 55, 56
I want to share something to keep this in perspective: Some years back, some very devout friends of mine were given a date by a priest, and they quoted the priest as saying, "On this date, a lot of people are going to get what's coming to them." The date he gave them was April 17, 2005. My friends and I wondered if this would be the date of the Warning. As you know, that day came and went with no Warning. On the evening of April 16, 2005, I walked out to my front curb to take out the garbage. I looked at the stars in the sky, and I wondered to myself what would happen the next day. I thought to myself, "No matter what happens (or doesn't happen), I'm not going to let it effect my faith or change what it is I believe." Just as I had this thought, the biggest shooting star I have ever seen shot across the sky. Now, you can take this as an affirmation as I did, or just a coincidence. It doesn't matter. What's important is our faith and how we live it. Darrell
A sign for a son. Darrell, That shooting star was just for you: the apple of the Father's eye. TerryO
I think Darrell I would have got suspicious when I heard the priest talking about 'other people' , getting it!! It sounds very Pharisical!! I am always a little suspicious of times and seasons. I think in the very nature of mysticism exactitude like this makes me wonder. Why so? Well I have a little theory. I think in mystical experience we use the artistic, ,mystical half of our brain. The other half is used for things like mathematics. So when I see precise numbers being churned out by mystics it always raises a question mark in my mind. So if a mystic was to say, 'Jesus told me to combine 3.69 grammes of copper sulphate with two thirds of a litre of sulphuric acid and his Blessed Mother said I was to heat it at a temprature of 60 degrees on the 13th December 2008, I would be a little concerned, because of the preciseness of it. If you see what I mean. Also anything at all that leads to a loss of peace in the soul has to be wondered about, something that cause fretting and worrying. I suppose too if a good Catholic was to reject all the visions, Lourdes, the Sacred Heart, Fatima included as of course they are entitled too ( the Church does not force such things down our throats} it would not be the end of a world, so long as we are living good lives. Ron Conte talks about precise dates . But on the other hand he is not really pulling this from mystical sources. He is doing so as a theologian and scripture scholar, which makes me a lot easier. I don't think I am worried about the future as such, But I do feel a great reverential awe. I think what is coming is totally amazing. I also feel a great sadness at the suffering and I feel a special pity for the young. For after all I have lived most of my life in comfort, but their lives will be very different. On the other hand they may see the wonderful world to come, the restoration of the Church and Peace on Earth, the great, great saints that are to come and a million other wonderful things which I will not see. Two ladies who false mystics wrote to me l recently, basically to tell me what great saints they are and how special Jesus and Mary were assuring them they were. There is nothing as harmful as false mysticism based on spiritual pride. It causes the death of the soul and is pretty well fatal and incurable. I wrote back warning them but they never answered me. Terrible. Its also terrible how many false mystics there are at the minute. There seems to be many thouands of them crawling out of the woodwork all spouting nonsense.
Darrell, Mario & Padraig, Thank you all for your wisdom and sharing your reflections. It helps me big time to make sense of the daily difficulties. I havent shared any of Ron's predictions with family as I dont feel drawn to do so. I just try and encourage them to pray and to focus on the christian message and way of life. I think this information will be more useful when events happen and there is turmoil everywhere. Then all of us who have been prepared ,which is what I feel these forums are doing, will be called on to shed light on events and point the way forward. God bless Mary
I think it's normal to want precise dates (I know I do), but for me, I won't totally believe that anyone has the right date for the Warning and Miracle until it happens. It think some people are really close though. If my life depended on knowing the exact date, I'd go with Ron's, even over my own guesses. The important thing for me in all of this, however, isn't getting the precise date right, but in knowing is that something BIG is coming soon. Real soon. We are in a grace period like everyone here is saying. Time is short. Oh, on another note, my 12-year-old computer broke over the weekend . . . I think it's the modem. I have about an hour before I need to pick up the kids from pre-school and kindergarten. I probably won't be on the board much until after Christmas (when I can buy a new computer).
Sorry to hear about your computer Deanna, you'll be missed!! I also think Ron is on the right track. However I don't think he is right about the end of the world date as I think God is keeping that a secret. I think also He keeps a lot of other stuff hidden, not least to keep the state of play hidden from Satan and certain mystical wise bad guys. I think the future gets plastic the further away you get from events so if you are trying to forecast things in a hundred years its much more problematic. However if you are say trying to see things happening tomorrow of next week its much more set in stone. Our Lady said this at Medugorje, 'People have forgotten the power of prayer and fasting , it is possible to stop even wars through this'. Or in other words she is saying things aren't always written in stone. She also commented that one of the bad secrets has been stopped which gives a lot of hope. However from the general tenor of her remarks certain truly terrible things are more nor less unavoidable. As regards Rons precise dates, well as you say Deanna I wouldn't get too fixed on this but more nor less pay attention to the general tenor of his forecasts. I think in a way mystical revelations are a bit like receiving radio signals, some are crystal clear FM digital others like very long range and crackly. The ones from Medugorje are the highest quality you can get, it is pretty well a Theophany ...a direct divine showing of God like the sun dancing at Fatima. This is only happening because of the great urgency of our times. On the other hand very low level ones can be like a day dream of a stray thought. However at the minute the events coming are so tremendous I belief they are effecting folks collective unconcious, that we are all getting a general sense of awesome events. I saw this recently in a study of consumer spending in the United States. Spending on Credit Cards has shot up and they surveyed folks to see why. The major response was, 'Things are just about to fall to bits, we want to enjoy before the big bang comes'. Which I think is very, very revealing....
I shared with my family the Warning and it fell on deaf ears. When there is a stir in the heart it will be a light to them. My prayer life just continues to grow and for this I am thankful. I'm starting the Total Consecration to Mary on November 5th, the day I start my pilgrimage to Italy. Please pray that I will have the graces to receive all God has for me. many thanks in advance. Lee
Lee, I hope you have a lovely time in Italy as I am sure you will. Are you visiting the tomb of Padre Pio? last year I was there on December 6th. As I have shared previously my son is getting married December 6th next. His name is Bryan Pio. I prayed for him especially at Padre Pio's tomb last year and it was just last week that the coincedence of his getting married this December 6th dawned on me. I believe Padre Pio is looking out for him. I have always recommended him to Padre in my prayers. Have a great time and may you get all the blessings planned for you and your family + a ton more. Mary
Thank you for your well wishes and blessings. Yes, Pietreclina, San Giovanni Rotondo are in the schedule. I'm very much looking forward to it. You also must be looking forward to the upcoming wedding. What a blessing that will be. I'll pray for the union and all the blessings meant for it and for the families, truly a gift I hope that you will have a good friend in your daughter in law. Lee
