For some reason the forum is very busy at the minute, busier than ever and has been so for about a week now. By far the largest amount of visitors are from the USA (though there are quite a few from Europe) So in talking about the Signs of the Times and events to come I think it might be good to , for a while, talk about the USA in particular. Its good to talk about a particular country, because ............and it sounds like a truism to say it...no two countries are the same. In a spiritual sense not all countries obey God's commandments in the same way or to the same degree and not all countries have lapsed morally to the same degree so that the condign judgement of heaven will not only fall n different countries and areas of the world in the same manner, nor tot the same degree. .

I realise that in writing about the United States it may not interest people from other regions so much, but the same principles in discernment applied to the USA can be applied to other places, Though each country has its own particular destiny and I believe the USA has a very, very important place in God's hands. As well as that it is such a great Nation that in it we can see all the Signs of the Times coming to fruition so clearly, something we would see by studying the future of other smaller places, such as Ireland. She has her own particular destiny and a very special place in God's plans for the healing of the world. So, in a real sense by studying the future of the States we see in situ something of the future of the entire planet..and we can not say this for most other countries, I believe.

As well as that by focusing on one specific nation we see God's plan in detail, which is so enlightening and interesting. Also I just feel Our Lady asking me in prayer to do so, so lets pray to Our Lady of America to pray for that great country over the next while as we discern together God.s plans for that great Nation.

Prayer to Our Lady of America, Patroness of our Land
Written at the behest of Our Lady, October 5, 1956 by Sister Mary Ephrem (Mildred Neuzil)

Oh Immaculate Mother, Queen of our country, open our hearts, our homes, and our land to the coming of Jesus, your Divine Son. With Him, reign over us, O heavenly Lady, so pure and so bright with the radiance of Gods light shining in and about you. Be our leader against the powers of evil set upon wresting the world of souls, redeemed at such a great cost by the sufferings of your Son and of yourself, in union with Him, from that same Savior, Who loves us with infinite charity.

We gather about you, O chaste and holy Mother, Virgin Immaculate, Patroness of our beloved Land, determined to fight under your banner of holy purity against the wickedness that would make all the world an abyss of evil, without God and without your loving maternal care.

We consecrate our hearts, our homes, our Land to your Most Pure Heart, O great Queen, that the kingdom of your Son, our Redeemer and our God, may be firmly established in us.

We ask no special sign of you, sweet Mother, for we believe in your great love for us, and we place in you our entire confidence. We promise to honor you by faith, love, and the purity of our lives according to your desire.

Reign over us, then, O Virgin Immaculate, with your Son Jesus Christ. May His Divine Heart and your most chaste Heart be ever enthroned and glorified among us. Use us, your children of America, as your instruments of peace among men and nations. Work your miracle of grace in us, so that we may be a glory to the Blessed Trinity, Who created, redeemed, and sanctifies us.

May your valiant spouse, St. Joseph, with the holy Angels and Saints, assist you and us in "renewing the face of the earth." Then when our work is over, come, Holy Immaculate Mother, and as our Victorious Queen, lead us to the eternal kingdom, where your Son reigns forever as King.

    Amen
    (200 days)

America is of great interest to us because so many of our relatives have gone there over the centuries so we always feel a brotherly love for America. I will start to pray the prayer to Our lady of America.

Yes Mary, that's true. My brother and his family live there.

The Future of the USA is totally bound up totally with the Future of the Catholic Church there. If we can read what has happened to the Church there, what is happening and what is emerging we can see clearly the future of the nation.

This may sound like the most extraordinary thing to write. But the reason why I do is contained in the words of Jesus:

    Matthew 5:13
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men.

Drat, ran out of time again off to Mass.

It sounds a very strange things to suggest. to modern Catholic ears, that the future of an entire Nation should be bound up totally with the future of a Church or Faith, any Church any Faith. But this is because we have forgotten that, in fact,as the present Holy Father has reminded us, according to the Teachings of the Church there is, in fact only one Church. To talk of Protestant , 'Churches' is a misnomer, there is in fact only One, True Church the Catholic Church, founded by Christ, we can only talk of Protestant or Orthodox sects Sects, not ,'Churches'.

The Key to modern conditions, the key to the future of the USA and the doorway to understanding Marian Apparitions of our times were contained , I believe in the words of a great modern Prophet, Blessed Pope Pius IX on June 9, 1862

The early Church fathers taught that 'where there is Peter, there is the Church'.

The words of Jesus are truth and they are life; 'you are Peter and on this Rock I will build MY Church', and 'the gates of Hell shall not prevail against her'. The Catholic Church is THE Church founded by Jesus Christ for she still has the Peter, the Petrine Office. After all it was Jesus who renamed Simon as Peter in preparation for selecting him as the shepherd to feed the flock of Christ.

    maryrose,

It is my Irish ancestoral roots, in part, that connect me with you all. So it cuts both ways! :p

It is time for me to wade in on the vigorious endtimes discussion that has taken place these past few weeks. I have chosen this thread because I believe America plays a pivotal role in the timing of the Illumination. How so? There are two realities, one geopolitical, and the other spiritual. First, the role of my country as the world's geopolitical center is rapidly deteriorating. America, as a whole, no longer holds the moral high ground. Her economic stability will shortly resume its downward slide. I intuitively believe a catastrophe will soon take place which will prohibit her willingness or ability to flex military might abroad. This pending prohibition will leave Europe vulnerable to Russian deception. Second, the march of secularism has greatly increased in the last decade, reaching new heights in the aims of the current Presidential Administration. Remember, satan first chose to expose and attack the Church by means of the sex scandal here in the United States. Taking advantage of this grevious abuse, attempts to discredit the Church and other Biblical Christians have greatly intensified. The providential hand of God's protection is lifting. Persecution is in the offing.

The working out of God's Will in time appears agonizingly slow, but I believe that 2011 will be the year in which events will come to a head. The Communist persecution of the Church in Europe must be initiated before the Warning occurs, according to Our Lady of Garabandal. This signpost requires the removal of America's intervention.

To keep an eye on America makes perfect sense. To intercede with Our Lady of America before the Throne of God makes even more sense. It provides time for the seeds of Mary's Triumph to be planted and take root. But believe me, the time of grace is almost finished. Mercy through Justice is coming!

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

Yes, there is a great unravelling about to occur before the Great Shaking and Awakening.

The collapse of the economic will lead to the collapse of the political and social orders.

Detachment is the order of the day -detachment from earthly things and materialism/consumerism.

Therefore, let Christ alone be our strength, refuge and attachment.

I see the earthquakes and this devestating oilspill as a definite sign that our time of mercy is at an end.
They tried to cap oil vein and failed. BP is behaving atrociously towards the persons who were on board when it blew. They should be so ashamed but I suspect they are not familiar with shame. Many crimes are being committed right now, against children, nature, the church, and humanity. I do not see how we can set this right without God's help.

    Keep praying, Kath

Yes its true I think that a very that a great war is going on for America's heart and soul at the minute. But I think this is something Americans can be very, very proud of, that they are on their feet and still slugging it out. For the most part the war in Europe was lost decades ago, with a few honourable exceptions Europe hit the ground with hardly a blow being struck.

America however reminds me of something that happened to me at school years ago. There used to be a very large kid who used to bully us and this used to annoy me but to be honest I was afraid of him and used to put up with him in the hope he'd go away. But one day he pushed me in the chest and to my amazement my hand went out very quickly and I hit him a terrible crack on the face. he stood their, looking astonished as did those who looked on. To my even more amazement he started to cry. I think its a bit like that in the USA. At the time of Pearl Harbour one delighted Japanese naval aide said to the Admiral how delighted he was that they had defeated the USA and the Admiral replied shook his head sadly and said, 'We have woken a sleeping giant' .I sense this in the USA that more and more folks are waking up from a deep fog of lies and deception and are arising with great power and strength. This bodes very, very well for the future.

Of course it is foolish to think that the USA or the world will be saved by human, political means it will be saved by prayer and fasting. But the fact that this fight is actually going on is a great sign that some folks are fasting and praying , the facts that folks were not fasting and praying in Europe was how they keeled over and collapsed so easily. The fact that Ireland is one of the few , maybe the only country in the world that severely prohibits abortion is a sign that some folks there were fasting and praying too.

This is a very interesting thread. :)

Padraig, I agree there’s a great spiritual war going on right now for the soul of America. There are signs of hope. For example, in the gallup polls in 2009, for the first time ever more people identified themselves as “pro life” than “pro choice”. On the other hand, I recently heard Father Corapi state that 75% of Catholics in our country don’t attend Sunday mass! If we focused on the fallen away majority, this would seem to spell doom. However I find great hope in the 25% - the faithful remnant. Scripture tells us the prayers of the righteous are very powerful.

Terry, I agree that worsening recession is on the horizon – it’s just a matter of time. Just a few years ago, houses in my neighborhood sold almost as soon as they went on the market. Now there are three houses sitting empty on my street alone. Last week, Liane, the kids and I went over to one of them and pulled the 3-foot high weeds from the front yard. And we just learned that another of our friends’ down the street are losing their home.

Katrina revealed to us how truly fragile the infrastructure of our country really is. Another “catastrophe” of this magnitude – natural disaster or terrorist attack – could very well cripple our country.

Terry, could you elaborate on this? Is it simply the general direction and magnitude of factors which lead you to believe culmination is at hand? Or is there something else specifically?

At work a while back, I told someone that the only thing that will save America is for its citizens to re-embrace the Christian values on which it was founded. In a word: Repentance. Conversion.

I prayed about all this earlier today as the rest of the family was still in bed asleep, and I asked God to give me some insight into all of this specifically from today’s readings. In the first reading, Acts 16: 22-34, Paul and Silas are attacked, beaten and imprisoned. They pray and sing hymns to God. An earthquake shook the foundations, the doors opened and the chains fell away. The jailor and his family were converted! And they rejoiced!

Persecution – the faithful response: pray and sing hymns to God! Earthquake – a physical earthquake and a physical catastrophe – a spiritual earthquake – a Warning – lead to conversion. Rejoice!

In the Gospel Jesus speaks of the coming of the Advocate. The Holy Spirit lives in all of us Baptized Christians. Let all of us pray and fast and do our duty in using our gifts to spread the Kingdom of God!

Holy God we praise thy name.
Lord of all we bow before thee.
All on earth thy scepter claim.
All in Heaven above adore thee.
    Infinite thy vast domain.
    Everlasting is thy reign.
    Infinite thy vast domain.
    Everlasting is thy reign.

I wonder if this of the Earthquake might have been talking of the breaking of the sixth seal?

I have the 6th seal a lot on my mind recently.

The seals of Revelation are difficult to understand - some argue that the seals have not been opened yet and the tribulation begins in earnest with the opening of the 1st seal and then the others in sequence. Others argue that the seals have been opened.

This thread, as Darrell said, is indeed very interesting.
Much can be learnt today about the state of various nations, simply by
looking at certain factors, such as the various sinful methods allowed,
such as abortion or euthanasia, as in European countries.

Padraig, your insights are excellent. Keep up the good work!

    Darrell,

Though my intuitive, spiritual radar is flashing red, my statement above should not be taken as a type of prophecy. Your magnitude of factors phrase would be more to the point. Let me try to re-phrase. The transition from the time of grace, which has been orchastrated by the Holy Spirit through Our Lady, into the time of justice is not suppose to be smooth. I believe God will judge man by giving him what he demands: the driver's seat. Unfortunately, mankind is more and more loosing control of the vehicle. The elite will use this period of chaos to consolidate power and attack the Church, but they don't perceive the complete picture.

A case in point is the growing oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. Man's greed exceeded technological safeguards. The Lord will allow one disaster after another like this to befall us, so that more and more we will see our need for him. The pace of catastrophes is quickening, especially here in the USA. This country will soon be brought to its knees. The elites will use this to enforce a New World Order, but because this is not the final confrontation, God will use it as the geopolitical lynchpin that sets the stage for Our Lady's triumph. The secrets will unfold to usher in the Era of Peace.

I chose the year 2011 as pivotal because of the increasing pace of catastrophes. Not only is the vehicle out of control from a human perspective, but the accelerator is pushed to the floor!

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

The key to understanding the Satanic attack on the Church in the United States,,,and through the Church, the Nation itself ( and it WAS Satanic , planned and executed by himself and the Princes of Hell) came in the words of Saint Pope Pius the tenth in describing the heresy of Modernism. This was, he said, 'The synthesis of all heresies. Or, in other words not just one evil, but a whole rag bag of them. Or, as I think I think of it, like a cold gray fog or mist that would come to freeze and rot the very heart of American Catholicism, right through the 20th century and up to the present day. In fact God permitted this attack to be revealed to a Pope ..and through the then Holy Father to the faithful in the United States and the world in a vision.

The Vision Of Pope Leo XIII

    October 13, 1884

Exactly 33 years to the day prior to the great Miracle of the Sun in Fatima, that is, on October 13, 1884, Pope Leo XIII had a remarkable vision. When the aged Pontiff had finished celebrating Mass in his private Vatican Chapel, attended by a few Cardinals and members of the Vatican staff, he suddenly stopped at the foot of the altar. He stood there for about 10 minutes, as if in a trance, his face ashen white. Then, going immediately from the Chapel to his office, he composed the prayer to St. Michael, with instructions it be said after all Low Masses everywhere. When asked what had happened, he explained that, as he was about to leave the foot of the altar, he suddenly heard voices - two voices, one kind and gentle, the other guttural and harsh. They seemed to come from near the tabernacle. As he listened, he heard the following conversation:

The guttural voice, the voice of Satan in his pride, boasted to Our Lord:
    "I can destroy your Church."

The gentle voice of Our Lord:
"You can? Then go ahead and do so."

    Satan:
"To do so, I need more time and more power."

    Our Lord:
"How much time? How much power?

    Satan:
"75 to 100 years, and a greater power over those
who will give themselves over to my service."

    Our Lord:
"You have the time, you will have the power.
Do with them what you will."

So that if we look at the Catholic Church in the Untied States and the country in the early part of the 20th Century we see a great irony. A Nation and a Church moving rapidly forward to a period of its greatest outward growth in power, self confidence and apparent spiritual vigour. This on the outside but in the inside starting the great rot which would consume and endanger it from within as the gray fog spread. Satan knew that if he could aim this freezing fog at the very heart of the Church, at the Novitiates of the religious houses and the Seminaries were the young priests were trained then, with patience and stealth he could corrupt and destroy the Church ...and so the Nation of the future. For by so doing he could freeze the very, mystical, prayerful heart of America. That by seducing the shepherds he could lead the sheep to their destruction.

America is still a bastion of hope whereas in Europe there has been an almost total apostacy from the truth, and this leaves the path open for an open schism. For this to happen there would have to be an anti-Pope & this has been prophecised.

Europe's not good its true Bobby. But on the other hand there are very surprising outpourings of grace there, especially in places like Italy. I notice the Holy Spirit leading to the foundation of whole religious communities and stories of stigmatics. I suppose this may be throughout Europe its just in Italy saints and miracles , maybe get reported better. Even here in Ireland ,from time to time I hear stories, a priest here who can read souls and work miracles, a lady here who meets Our Lady on a regular basis, a nun somewhere else who is a stigmatic and so on.....but I am especially moved by some of the folks I see at mass each day, a few of them really make me stand and stare, very, very holy indeed, little saints in fact.

Here, for instance is a very, very remarkable community in Rome, born as a result of a very great outpouring of the Holy Spirit in Rome and supported by the present and previous Popes:

    Really remarkable:

    Its origin
The Community of Sant'Egidio began in Rome in 1968, at the initiative of a young man, who was then less than twenty, Andrea Riccardi. He gathered a group of high-school students, like himself, to listen to and to put the Gospel into practice. The first Christian communities of the Acts of the Apostles and Francis of Assisi were the first reference points.

    Good News!

I agree Padraig, there are many remarkable saints in Europe and as the darkness gets darker the more their light will shine. Very interesting to hear what is coming out of Italy - thanks for that link.

So , in the period leading up to the Second Vatican Council there was a cold gray fog settling on the hearts of the young in formation in the seminaries and novitiaties right across the USA as Satan fought his secret war. This war was fought in various ways and on various levels and led to the Church fracturing so that in the end two different armies or camps were formed and its these two camps I would like describe.

    The Army of Mary.

The primary difference is this, that these folks centre their spiritual life in prayer. They know that everything stems from being united with Christ. That unless we, the branches are united to the vine we will wither.

    John 15:5
"I am the vine; you are the branches. If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.

When Our Blessed Lady comes down from heaven there are two things that she asks, that we should pray and that we should fast.

Mark 8:34-35) Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said, "If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me and for the gospel will save it."

So these are the two key characteristics of those who follow Mary and reject the Spirit of the world, of the Age, the Spiritual Army, as it were that they put on; but there are many others.

For the Child of Mary the Eucharist stands at the very centre of their Spiritual Life., all graces stem from this all graces are built on this. the Child of Mary has a hunger for the Eucharist that nothing else can fill, the Holy Mass is the apex of their day from which all good flows. When trying to see were a priest is coming from, then, I always take it as a wonderful sign of grace when I see him spending time in prayer both before and after mass, the more the better.

The Child of Mary is humble and obedient and stands at the feet of Peter with the Vicar of Christ, our Holy Father the Pope. The Child of Mary is as gentile, docile and obedient as a little lamb and goes to graze were the Shepherd of Christ, the Sucessor of Peter leads her.

The Army of Mary have a deep love for the devotions, sacramentals and traditions of the Church, great weapons, forged in the fires of spiritual war for centuries. forged in the fires of spiritual war for centuries. The Rosary, Holy Water, Blessed medals, blessed salt, holy pictures and statues, Devotion to the Blessed Sacrament, the Holy Souls and Purgatory, the Saints and so on. Novenas, personal devotions...the list is endless.

Mary's Army takes Mary the Most Holy Army of God as their leader in these dark times as she leads them into Battle.

    Song of Solomon 6:10
'Who is this that grows like the dawn, As beautiful as the full moon, As pure as the sun, As awesome as an army with banners?'

The Army of Mary are as clear eyed as eagles. They can see through the lies, the confusion, the gray mists swirling about in confusion. Filled with the graces of the Holy Spirit they have been given the wings of eagles and fly above the noise and confusion, the smoke of war and read the Signs of the Times.

The recognise the existence, the real existence of Satan and evil of grace and holiness. They know right from right and wrong from wrong. They know that Holy Mother Church is the road to heaven and follow this road with unerring steps.

    The Children of the Mist

The Children of the Mist are a very busy people, busy about many things. So busy, practical and up to date and relevant that time spent praying and attending to Mass seems at best a destraction or at worst like a waste of time. They seem superficially a very attractive people. Warm hearted and deeply caring. They are activists concerned with a whole host of issues such as the environment, wars, violence, womens rights, poverty, the criminal system, injustice, sexual issues and so on. They are attractive because they are so much people who really CARE and unlike the Children of Mary who they see as judgemental, conservative , old fashioned and entrenched in out moded ways of thought, too tied up in heavenly matters, the Children of the Mist regard themselves as in touch, relevant, progressive, open to present needs and very much activists. They are very much in setting up structures, most especially committees and agencies, groups to deal with ISSUES with which they are constantly embattled in dealing with. They are tremendous listeners and talkers and come across as very warm , your best friend, your brother, sisters, mother or father. Yet much of this is illusional for when challenged on the directions they which to persuade you to walk they are in fact made of steel. For instance I have heard of Seminarians and novices who have professed belief in apparitions , such as Medugorje being hurriedly and very efficiently and quickly being despatched out the seminary or novitiate back door.

The Grey Mists are concerned always with , 'Rights' but seldom with responsibilities. They emphasis personal choice and decisions and are opposed to structures or 'mindless obedience' unless the structures or authorities happen to be controlled by their own folks.

They love innovation and see tradition as fusty and getting in the road.

They have no real conception of evil as a force in its own right. They regard evil as being a result of processes which they can set right.

They do not accept the reality of Satan and Hell and dislike the notion of Purgatory or a Last Judgement. On the other hand they underline love, mercy, heaven and and all loving God.

They dislike devotions which they consider old fashioned and it is almost a badge for them that they very much oppose apparitions, the supernatural, the mystical or any kind of Devotion to Our Blessed Lady, especially such things as the use of the Rosary.
