https://www.lifesitenews.com/blogs/...-logos-for-pride-month-this-year-why-is-that/ The Bud Lite debacle has corporations pulling back. Even if it's only to protect profits it is a victory for truth! Praise God! O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
A tribute worthy of your visit and posting! So glad to know you think of us! God bless you, WCWTS, and all you love!
God bless you God bless you dear Mario and good friends. Thank you very much! Yes, I browse often but we are running out of time so we have to use well the little we have. And PRAY PRAY, PRAY! Thanks for starting this thread. Yes, it is very important that the lies are exposed. There are so many ... and the children of darkness are so persistent!
They are persistent indeed. Apparently Mel Gibson is producing a 4 part documentary on the vile things being done to children--including trafficking. (You tube Redacted pod cast) i am sure "they: will come after him.
I personally ask for your prayers. I'm preaching this Corpus Christi weekend. I'll be focusing initially on the rejection Jesus experienced during His Bread of Life discourse by many who wanted to make him king just the day before. What a preposterous idea to think of eating his flesh and drinking his blood! Virtually all except for the Apostles abandoned him! [But then I'll shift to the growing acceptance in our culture of transgenderism.] The first preposterous idea is actually true, so let us be joyfully humble as we approach to receive the Body and Blood of our Lord in Holy Communion! The second proposition, however, is definitively false, since both biologically and in Scripture: male and female only point to the truth. [The X and Y chromosomes, also known as the sex chromosomes, determine the biological sex of an individual: females inherit an X chromosome from the father for a XX genotype, while males inherit a Y chromosome from the father for a XY genotype (mothers only pass on X chromosomes)]. The Catechism of the Catholic Church, in Paragraph 355, quotes Genesis 1:27 as “God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them.” This fundamental male-female duality of human beings is referenced in Paragraphs 383, 2331, and 2334, as well. However, a student, Josh Alexander, at a Catholic school in Canada was suspended for challenging school policy: Alexander shared his belief that there are two sexes, and that people are born either male or female while other students and the teacher also expressed views about sexuality and gender during class debates this fall at St. Joseph Catholic High School in Renfrew, Ontario, located about 60 miles west of the capital of Ottawa. The 11th-grader also approached the school’s principal to advocate for female students who shared with him concerns about biological males using their bathrooms. When the administration didn’t address the issue, Alexander led 200 students in a walk out. The school suspended Alexander in November. As he attempted to attend classes on Feb. 6, he was arrested for trespassing. He is excluded from attending the school for the rest of the school year, according to the website of Liberty Coalition Canada of which Alexander’s attorney, James Kitchen, is chief litigator. This occurred despite the fact that the Constitution of Canada allows Catholic institutions to abide by the principles of the Catholic Faith. May we have empathy for those who are gender confused, but let us stand firm in the truth even if we are denounced and abandoned as Jesus was over His teaching on the Real Presence in the sublime life-giving gift of the Holy Eucharist. My homily will finish with the question Jesus posed to the Twelve at the end of Bread of Life discourse: 67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve. Peter's response: “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life." Let us respond, "No Lord, your teachings and those of Your Church hold primacy in my heart!" Jesus is our Life, our Way, and our Truth!
I have been thinking how difficult it is for Clergy to speak out the truth to people recently. I would not like to have to do it myself. I think St Paul mentions in his letter to the Thessalonians that people in the latter times, the times of the Great Apostasy would not want to take correction. I think we are in those times. In my younger days it was, for instance quite expected and normal for adults to correct children, even children that were strangers. But you would be taking your life in your hand to try such a thing now and might even end up assaulted or arrested. So I very much admire your courage. May God reward you for it. It reminds me not to be too critical of Clergy unless I have walked a little in their shoes. Anyway, praying. I think Fr Edward Meeks is my favourite priest to listen to for homilies at the moment. He is my dream priest in a way, the priest I would most like to see and hear in my own Parish. He reminds me of the old fashioned priests of my youth.
Terry, I am praying for you this morning that the words you preach to your parishioners today on this beautiful Feast Day are received well. I pray they help all come to know the Truth… the Eucharist IS REAL. It is the Body, Blood, Soul and Divinity of Our Lord! He came to be Brocken so that we have Life. When the Jews in that synagogue in Capernaum walked away, Jesus asked the disciples (and really is today) … do you also want to leave? I pray we all can answer as Peter did. Where would we go Lord, you have the words of Eternal Life! I saw this on Aleteia …. Sharing https://aleteia.org/2023/06/10/the-via-eucharistiae-a-new-beautiful-devotion-for-corpus-christi/ Happy Feast Day!
As you dig deeper…. It’s so insidious…. The APA has been co-opted by feminists which are the majority of educators. Boys and young men almost have no chance in this environment. It comes down to parents protecting their kids. Home schooling really appears more and more like the only way to make sure your kids are safe…. And from this article especially boys. https://www.zerohedge.com/medical/boys-america-are-suffering-how-can-we-help-them
Hope Terry’s sermon was received well. Our pp is away and there was no Mass at my local church so I drove to Douai Abbey. I had almost forgotten what a good NO Mass is like. A pipe organ, monks chanting, no hymns, just chant in Latin and English. No guitars to be seen. And we had an excellent sermon on the Eucharist, calling for a Eucharistic revival. I wanted to thank the homilist on the way out but he was surrounded by people. I wonder if he follows Fr Heilman? My own pp is reasonably solid theologically but I think he fears the wolves. I must say I was delighted with Douai, I had thought they had gone a bit liberal. Maybe the older monks have but thankfully the younger priests are firmer in the faith
this jumped out at me Clare. While it worked out and I admire your determination to find a place to go to Mass, it is really sad that when your priest is away, there is no Mass. as much as I think it’s not great here in my neck of the woods, there has never been a situation like this at our parish. But, I suppose, like in Ireland, the priest shortage will lead to this here as well.. God Bless
From office of Readings today… this great sermon by St. Thomas Aquinas. And the Te Deum "On the feast of Corpus Christi", by St Thomas Aquinas O precious and wonderful banquet! Since it was the will of God’s only-begotten Son that men should share in his divinity, he assumed our nature in order that by becoming man he might make men gods. Moreover, when he took our flesh he dedicated the whole of its substance to our salvation. He offered his body to God the Father on the altar of the cross as a sacrifice for our reconciliation. He shed his blood for our ransom and purification, so that we might be redeemed from our wretched state of bondage and cleansed from all sin. But to ensure that the memory of so great a gift would abide with us for ever, he left his body as food and his blood as drink for the faithful to consume in the form of bread and wine. O precious and wonderful banquet, that brings us salvation and contains all sweetness! Could anything be of more intrinsic value? Under the old law it was the flesh of calves and goats that was offered, but here Christ himself, the true God, is set before us as our food. What could be more wonderful than this? No other sacrament has greater healing power; through it sins are purged away, virtues are increased, and the soul is enriched with an abundance of every spiritual gift. It is offered in the Church for the living and the dead, so that what was instituted for the salvation of all may be for the benefit of all. Yet, in the end, no one can fully express the sweetness of this sacrament, in which spiritual delight is tasted at its very source, and in which we renew the memory of that surpassing love for us which Christ revealed in his passion. It was to impress the vastness of this love more firmly upon the hearts of the faithful that our Lord instituted this sacrament at the Last Supper. As he was on the point of leaving the world to go to the Father, after celebrating the Passover with his disciples, he left it as a perpetual memorial of his passion. It was the fulfilment of ancient figures and the greatest of all his miracles, while for those who were to experience the sorrow of his departure, it was destined to be a unique and abiding consolation. Responsory ℟. See in this bread the body of Christ which hung upon the cross, and in this cup the blood which flowed from his side.* Take his body, then, and eat it; take his blood and drink it, and you will become his members. ℣. The body of Christ is the bond which unites you to him: eat it, or you will have no part in him. The blood is the price he paid for your redemption: drink it, lest you despair of your sinfulness.* Take his body, then, and eat it; take his blood and drink it, and you will become his members. Canticle Te Deum God, we praise you; Lord, we proclaim you! You, the Father, the eternal – all the earth venerates you. All the angels, all the heavens, every power – The cherubim, the seraphim – unceasingly, they cry: “Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts: heaven and earth are full of the majesty of your glory!” The glorious choir of Apostles – The noble ranks of prophets – The shining army of martyrs – all praise you. Throughout the world your holy Church proclaims you. – Father of immeasurable majesty, – True Son, only-begotten, worthy of worship, – Holy Spirit, our Advocate. You, Christ: – You are the king of glory. – You are the Father’s eternal Son. – You, to free mankind, did not disdain a Virgin’s womb. – You defeated the sharp spear of Death, and opened the kingdom of heaven to those who believe in you. – You sit at God’s right hand, in the glory of the Father. – You will come, so we believe, as our Judge. And so we ask of you: give help to your servants, whom you set free at the price of your precious blood. Number them among your chosen ones in eternal glory. The final part of the hymn may be omitted: Bring your people to safety, Lord, and bless those who are your inheritance. Rule them and lift them high for ever. Day by day we bless you, Lord: we praise you for ever and for ever. Of your goodness, Lord, keep us without sin for today. Have mercy on us, Lord, have mercy on us. Let your pity, Lord, be upon us, as much as we trust in you. In you, Lord, I trust: let me never be put to shame. Let us pray. Lord Jesus Christ, you gave your Church an admirable sacrament as the abiding memorial of your passion. Teach us so to worship the sacred mystery of your Body and Blood that its redeeming power may sanctify us always. Who live and reign with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen. Let us praise the Lord. – Thanks be to God.
Well, Clare, it was a mixed bag. I only preached at the 2 vigil Masses on Saturday evening. There are two different retired priests filling in due to Father Francis being home in Africa for six weeks. Fr. Smith (a marvelous priest) celebrated the 2 Holy Masses today and preached. After the 4 pm Holy Mass yesterday, a number expressed thanks and 2 parishioners specifically told me "We need to hear more like this." However I was cornered when de-robing by a couple visiting from Watertown. The wife, who said she is a therapist, was irate and and focused on her clients struggling with gender identity, saying doctrine cannot help those who are confused. I spoke with them for 10 minutes, but had to rush off due to the scheduled Holy Mass in a nearby village. Pray that I will able to contact and get together with them and have an extended, more relaxed, fruitful conversation. My listening skills I learned in chaplaincy didn't have a chance to come into play due to limited time and her anger. Also, pray for a young couple whose child I baptized last year. The wife's Mom was in tears this morning before the Holy Mass began due to the couple's strained relationship. Maybe I can visit them. Lord have mercy! So many issues in the lives of those we care for. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for those who have recourse to thee!
I feel her pain. We are experiencing same with our daughter…. 9 years married, 3 young children. Will pray for this family that Christ become the center of their marriage.
