Motus in fine velocior [Motion accelerates when the end is near]

The latin ‘motus in fine velocior’ is commonly used to indicate the faster passing of the time at the end of an historical period. The multiplication of events, in fact, shortens the course of time, which in itself does not exist outside of the things that flow. Time, says Aristotle, is the measure of movement (Physics, IV, 219 b). More precisely we define it as the duration of changeable things. God is eternal precisely because He is immutable: every moment has its cause in Him, but nothing in Him changes. The more one distances himself from God the more chaos, produced by the change, increases.

You know, sometimes I think the transition from the old to the "new" world could be faster than many would imagine. By that I mean maybe within the next 10 years or so. Not that the world would miraculously become a paradise - far from that. But the collapse of the old world could take us all by surprise.

Just think: what will the world have become if God allows things to go on as they are for, say, another 50 years. We may have reached a point of no return. I´m not trying to understand the mind of God, of course, but there are indications we may be near the tipping point. Plus there are many messages that suggest just that.

In addition, there´s the age of seers: Conchita is 68, the Medjugorje seers all in their 50´s.
Even if you consider the final chastisement, predicted in Akita and Garabandal. When the Garabandal girls expressed their concern about what would happen to the little children in the village during the chastisement Our Holy Mother said they would all the adults by then. If that is a true quote, those little children should now be in their early 60´s or thereabouts. Which means the chastisement (yes, I know, it´s conditional, but who are we kidding - has the world repented and improved?) can´t be 30 years from now.

    Am I missing something?

    Time to buckle up.

I posted this before a few years ago but it's relevant to what you're saying, so I'll repeat it. One morning about 10 years ago as I was just waking up I heard a voice saying simply "I will expedite everything". It was so clear that it made me sit up in bed and look around. It sounded like my father, but there was nobody in the room. The voice also sounded like what I would describe as primordial. Now "expedite" was not a word I would commonly use and so, although I pretty much understood what it meant, I had to look it up to be sure.

I think you are right that things could be completely transformed in our world within 10 years or less, at lightening speed in fact. EVERYONE I talk to mentions how fast the time is going by, faster and faster every year, even young children, for whom the passing of time is usually so slow (remember how long we used to wait for Christmas or our birthday?).

Yes, everyone mentions the speed of time, and also I feel overwhelmed by the sheer overload of events, both in the world and in my day-to-day life. Thanks for sharing this marvelous blessing you have had.

And then, of course, Our Lord said he would come "like a thief in the night".

Blizzard, I love that photo you use as your avatar. I have seen it briefly before and could never locate it again. It is purportedly a photo of Jesus, Peter, and John, correct?

Thank you for sharing this wonderful insight. For some reason when I read your account it struck me that it might be related to Mark Mallett´s description of how once he clearly " heard" the words: "I HAVE LIFTED THE RESTRAINER" His experience also took place some 10 years ago:

I was driving alone in British Columbia, Canada, making my way to my next concert, enjoying the scenery, drifting in thought, when suddenly I heard within my heart the words,

    I have lifted the restrainer.

I felt something in my spirit that is hard to explain. It was as if a shock wave traversed the earth; as if something in the spiritual realm had been released.

Some additional facts that suggest the main events may not be 30 or 50 years in the future but may happen within the next 10 years or so:

MEDJUGORJE: Father Petar, the priest who will announce the ten secrets, is now 71 years old (born 1946). It´s not impossible that he will announce them over the next 30 years or so, thus living to be 100, but it´s not likely. Given his age, it´s a lot more likely that he will announce them over the next 10 years or so.

VASSULA: in some of her messages received in the 1980´s, Our Lord allegedly told her that all the major events of the end-times would happen “soon”. These would include the warning (which she calls the “Purification”, and the chastisements, including the one by fire, which is supposed to be the last). She then asked Him if He meant “His soon” or “Her (Vassula´s) soon”. Because God´s “soon” could be a thousand years while her “soon” means “really soon”. Our Lord´s answer came clearly: “YOUR soon”. Vassula, born in 1942, is now 75. Besides, in her book “Heaven is Real but So is Hell” she describes a vision she had in 2008 of Our Blessed Mother in which She said that all the prophetic events described in earlier messages were imminent.

THE NIGHT OF THE SCREAMS (additional details): After the “night of the screams”, when the girls were shown the future chastisement (and scared the bejesus out of the whole village so that everyone went to confession the next day) Conchita asked the Blessed Mother if She could take the little children of the village to Heaven before it happened, so terrible it was. Our Holy Mother replied that “by then the little children would have become adults”, thus hinting at an important timeframe for the chastisement (of course, Our Mother conveniently neglected to remind the girls that there would be other little children who would suffer the chastisement when it occurred in the future – the Queen of Heaven is also wise…). The “little children” in 1962 during the “night of the screams” would be now in their 60´s. If the chastisement were to occur, say, 30 or 40 years from now, the “little children” would NOT have become adults, they would in all likelihood be dead, at least the vast majority of them. Our Holy Mother NEVER lies. Though it is not impossible that Conchita, only 12 at the time, may have misinterpreted what she heard, as was the case with the Joey Lomangino affair, this fact, taken in conjunction with a number of other revelations from other sources, is an important indication.

Yes, I felt the exact same thing when I read this piece by Mark Mallett too, that what he heard and felt was directly related to what I heard that morning, like it was the same event. Uncanny.

I don’t think it’s just me. I hear it from both young and old: time seems to be speeding up. And with it, there is a sense some days as if one is hanging on by the fingernails to the edge of a whirling merry-go-round. In the words of Fr. Marie-Dominique Philippe:

We are heading towards the end of time. Now the more we approach the end of time, the more quickly we proceed—this is what’s extraordinary. There is, as it were, a very significant acceleration in time; there’s an acceleration in time just as there’s an acceleration in speed. And we go faster and faster. We must be very attentive to this to understand what is happening in today’s world. The Catholic Church at the End of an Age, Ralph Martin, p. 15-16

We must be attentive because the danger is that we allow ourselves to get caught up in this whirlwind of doing and to be pulled into the deceptive winds of this Great Storm that has landed upon humanity’s doorstep—to be yanked into a million distractions, a thousand duties, a hundred desires… and away from the one thing that matters most: that God is first.

I don't have any doubt time is speeding up. I was just wondering to myself, 'Do I feel this is a good thing or a bad thing for myself?'

Personally I think it is a great Gift. It reminds me of what Jesus said about the great impatience He felt for His Passion and His Raising up.

    Like that.

Notice the second part of what Jesus said, '...no flesh would be saved'.....

and recall the vision of Our Lady of Fatima way back in 1917 concerning souls falling into hell...

'Souls falling into hell like snowflakes'.

If they went like snowflakes back then, a hundred years ago it must be a blinding snowstorm now

Tribulation is a gift from God – one that he especially gives His special friends.

I've felt this for awhile now. I used to joke with friends that a mad scientist was leeching time from the universe. Now it seems as though time is collapsing in on itself. Things seem to be almost in the Now. Don't know how to explain this but things that happened 25 years ago seem like yesterday. No differentiation between then and now. Sometimes I feel like I am looking at our current culture through the wrong end of the telescope. Far away and insignificant. Like ants running around. I crave silence or thr sounds of nature. Nothing artificial. Idle talk is exhausting. I pray all the time now not to be "sifted like wheat" but to stay faithful to the end. Some people say May 13 is the day it all ends but I don't trust predictions like that. If it is then , God wills it so His Will be done. If it isn't then His Will is still being done. As long as I am in a state of grace I can get through it. I do fear for my family. They are oblivious it would seem. I am trying to work up the courage to warn them.
