What say you, Trump supporters? Still think the man who once described himself as "pro-choice in every respect" doesn't retain some residuals of his earlier pro-choice position? Frankly, he's mistaken. DeSantis didn't make "a terrible mistake". Trump just did.

NEW: Trump says he will compromise with Democrats on abortion so that they’re nice to him: “Both sides are going to like me.” Then he says it’s “a terrible thing” babies with heartbeats are protected in Iowa, Florida, and South Carolina."

I'm not an American citizen, but during Trump's presidency, I felt that as soon as he left the presidency, he could inevitably go back to the same mistakes he made before when he was just a celebrity in the business world. Although no American president has done more to protect religious freedom, I see the worst happening to him.

Yes. It seems as though the graces he received from 2016 to 2020 have been rescinded. May God have mercy on him for these words. He is thinking as man thinks. Not as God thinks. This is not politics. This is the moral issue of our time. The slaughter of babies.

I suspect there’s been some kind of undeclared separation - maybe not physical location - between him and Melania. His pro life convictions came from her. If there’s any kind of distance between them he’ll revert to his former self.

I believe Donald's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, might be influencing him to relinquish firm line-in-the-sand positions in an attempt to expand his base. I am reminded of his waving a LGBT flag the last week of the 2020 campaign in an attempt to garner a few extra votes.

His conviction must be that his MAGA supporters will not waver. Not that I was a MAGA supporter, I simply thought Trump was the best choice.

He has just lost my support for the Republican nominee this time around.:(

You are onto something Brian. I hope their relationship is not in trouble. Melania always led her husband to God, and I pray that she can bring him back. Trump was the one who nominated three of the conservative justices who voted to end Roe v. Wade. He was always so confident, and unshakable, but now I detect fear. He has been put through the wringer for so long and suffered through so much turmoil, I believe it may have taken a terrible emotional toll on him. Sadly, he has gotten it into his head that a pro-life position will hurt his chances of re-election, and he's making compromises that he will regret. :( God help him.

    Pro-Lifers respond:

Lila Rose: "Pathetic and unacceptable. Trump is actively attacking the very pro-life laws made possible by Roe’s overturning. Heartbeat Laws have saved thousands of babies. But Trump wants to compromise on babies’ lives so pro-abort Dems “like him.” Trump should not be the GOP nominee."

Matt Walsh: "An awful answer from a moral perspective. There is nothing terrible about stopping the satanic abortion industry from mass murdering human children. Also stupid politically. There is no compromise on abortion that everyone will like. It’s delusional to think otherwise. And contrary to Trump’s claims, almost all Democrats are indeed extreme on this issue. You will be hard pressed to find more than maybe two or three on the national stage who don’t want abortion until birth or beyond. You can’t win over Democrats by going squishy on this issue. Republicans have tried that brilliant strategy for decades and accomplished exactly nothing by it. Defend life clearly and powerfully and unequivocally. That’s the only way."

Abortion is like Slavery. The ultimate goal should be Abolition. Surely, there will be no Abortion once the Immaculate Heart triumphs.

Trump is pro-lgtbt and he did not build the border wall, and now he will backtrack on abortion? He is looking more like a Democrat in a Republican clothing.

What if he becomes president again, will he promote a pro-abortion Supreme Court nominee?

If Trump wins this way, it will be a process of moral self-demolition for the Republican Party.

the border wall ,contrary to what leftists say, is Anti-racist. the child smugglers would be unable to keep smuggling kids if a strong security covered the whole border. rio bravo is used to smuggle drugs, coyotes pick people off La Bestia (huge train which is crowded by central american refugees) and nuevo laredo is used to traffik weapons. all that would have ended if the wall had been built.
just my thoughts on the wall as a latino :coffee:

"TRUMP FLIPS TO PRO-ABORTION, BETRAYS CONSERVATIVES 9/17/23 Trump said the Florida law protecting the unborn from abortion after 6 weeks was a "terrible thing." If Trump's view prevails on the Republican party, 17 pro-life state laws will be reversed...

and: "It's one thing if a Presidential candidate wants the ***Federal law*** to permit most abortions, but that's NOT Trump's position. Trump wants ALL state laws to permit the vast majority of abortions (93% of abortions happen before 14 weeks)..."

Trump is over for me, and he is completely unstable anyway, not someone you want to have in charge in the middle of a war.

He also flipped flopped when Megan Kelly asked if a man can be a woman or vice versa, he couldn’t just plainly say NO.

    DeSantis is the guy!

Many republicans now criticizing DeSantis for his heartbit bill, but he ran his last campaign with it and won a supermajority in Florida, he was transparent and I am so happy he is following through - a man of his word!
