A drone attack targeted on Tuesday a Russian airfield in the border Kursk region. The attack comes one day after attacks on two military airfields deep inside Russian territory which killed three soldiers and injured four others. Russia blamed Ukraine for the attack on the Dyagilevo airfield in the Ryazan region and the Engels airfield in the Saratov region. Ukraine did not claim responsibility for the attacks, but if Russia's accusations are true, it would be the deepest Ukrainian attack inside Russia since the war started on February 24. The Saratov region is at least 600 km (370 miles) from the nearest Ukrainian border. Many commentators and analysts have suggested that this would mean the Ukrainian forces are capable of hitting Moscow.
Putin may go nuclear. This attack deep inside Russia is a major embarrassment for him. Also it undermines his authority and leadership in his own country.

I was reading a prophecy concerning the present days from a saint. Sadly I have forgotten who it was, but perhaps someone will recognise this and remind me. Basically the Father said that in our present days our sufferings will be far, far more than the Martyrs of the Early Church but of a different stamp. Whereas theirs was purely physical ours will come in many ways, mental , spiritual and physical including the betrayal of those we trusted most to guide us. I just found this very striking in terms of all that is happening around us. There is nothing that hurts quite as much as being hurt by the very people you love and trust the most. The people whom you could rightly rely on the most ordinarily. It seems to me in terms of Secular and Spiritual Leadership this is just so very much the case. Leaders you could place great trust in out there are becoming just about as rare as Chicken's Teeth.
I was wondering why the Russians would supply oil to the West at a price dictated by the western nations (the 'oil price cap'). Why would the Russians not just refuse to supply? Well it is not a matter of Putin refusing to see western European babies and old people freeze to death (as I had naturally assumed!). Apparently the reason is that, Russia does not have sufficient demand from India and China to use all its output but cannot reduce the flow of most of its oil because its source is deep in the permafrost, if it attempted to radically reduce the flow, the oil at the source will quickly become gelatinous then freeze and then the pipes will crack which means that any attempt to turn the supply on again will result in no oil coming out at the other end. And Russia has nowhere near enough storage capacity to simply pump the oil and then save it for better times. The west knows that it can reduce the price cap to any level it chooses, even lower than the cost of production because it would take years and expensive western expertise and equipment which Russia does not possess to ever get it flowing again. Russian commentators on state sponsored TV have recently been discussing whether Zelensky is merely a minor demon or the Anti-Christ with some seeking a declaration from Patriarch Kirill that he is officially the latter!

Padraig, as I read this part of your post, I immediately got a thought well then we are certainly blessed to be living in these times because grace will be overflowing. And further, all I could think was this was exactly the sufferings Our Lord went through…. He was betrayed by nearly all save His Mother, John, and a few of the other women. To experience this and to bring it in Union to Him well I guess it’s as you indicated from this saint an unprecedented time in history. Courage
