Padraig's story on "meeting Mary and learning to pray" is the lead story on Spirit Daily today just in case there are people on this forum that somehow missed it!

Cool. I didn't like where it ended though, but it's a good start to getting Padraig's story "out there" where it belongs. :)

Well Deanna, I would be very surprised if most people on this site didn't know about Padraig. When I stumbled across it 2 years ago I felt that I was meant to be here.

    Aww I missed it. :)

I have resisted having a link posted on a big site like 'Spirit Daily' to this forum. I think its better we stay small and hidden like our Lady herself...and I think most of you do too.

But it won't always be so.

I love this forum because it is small and hidden and this is a special charism whereas Spirit Daily is big and brash!

The forum does seem to be growing. ;)

I wonder how many of the newbies know your story, Padraig, On Meeting Mary and Learning to Pray.

All guided here by the hand of Mother Mary, and if some rogues do get in... as is what happens where Mother Mary is..(evil is never far behind trying to undo) then they are promptly booted out the back door. :D

    My brief moment of fame.:)

I think a samll Catholic forum like this, particulary one that is Our Lady's is always under attack from the devil. Our Lady and the devil go together like cheese and wine in this world for theres is a never failing conflict. So Satan follows her about like an old black dog, trying to mess up what ever she is trying to build. So we must always pray for this forum for protection.

I often sense her loving presence on the forum and feel her as though enjoying our posts. Really I have no doubt of her actual presence, you can feel it all around you.:) But

    Genesis 3
[14] And the Lord God said to the serpent: Because thou hast done this thing, thou art cursed among all cattle, and beasts of the earth: upon thy breast shalt thou go, and earth shalt thou eat all the days of thy life. [15] I will put enmities between thee and the woman, and thy seed and her seed: she shall crush thy head, and thou shalt lie in wait for her heel.

I enjoyed re-reading your story Padraig. I can't imagine how something like that must have changed you. How is it to be walking around now knowing something like that happened to you? Is it constantly on your mind any time you might be wandering away and it brings you immediately back? The rest of us (at least me that is) have to rely on a story like yours to pull back at times. I can't imagine what it must be like to have had something like that happen to me personally. I wonder how it would change me. Would I be forever changed and converted to God? Why can't I receive what you did? Why do I have to rely on Faith only and trust? Oh I don't know. Just feeling somber right now. I crave a conversion like yours but I always come up empty. I am so fickle in my faith. Strong one day and gone the next.

Thank you for sharing that Padraig! Very honest. I can see the gentleness in Mary as she says that she will teach you to pray, and calling you to forgiveness.

She doesn't let us away with any unforgiveness. :) How can we tell her that we don't forgive, when she herself has had to forgive so much. She is the one person who understands our pain. Other than Christ of course. :)

Did you ever go back to the monastry? Or is there more that I haven't read yet?

Jimmy - I used to think that too. I felt seers had it so easy. But don't forget Padraig's conversion included THE dark night which lasted years. and the statement "for those that have been given much, much will be expected", applies too...to all of us really, those of us that have found this forum...much will be expected of us and we have been given a responsibility. although the expectation and responsibility levels are different for all of us.

But still...I do envy you Padraig!!

Our Lady is eye poppingly gorgeous. :) There are just no words. I sometimes think if I get into heaven somehow and I get to see her one every 100 years from a back seat half a mile away I know I will be the happiest guy up there.:) Take all the artists, poets, writers , sculpters in the world and they would be dumb founded even to know how to start to describe her. So..I won't even try.

    What makes her so beautiful?

Why it is because she is so full of love and holiness; the true Spouse of the Holy Spirit.

But..there is something else ..something all the paintings and stautes cannot express..she is herself..a real person..an individual..very much so.

More than that I loved her partiulary because she has a sense of humour. She found me funny and liked me..I don't know how else to explain it.

    She KNEW me.
