I found this this morning and thought of how many times we need this kind of help! Lee __________________________________________________ WHEN MARY 'TAKES OVER' OBSTACLES LARGE AND SMALL TURN INTO GRACE AND MIRACLES A while ago we brought you word of an obscure novena to Mary as "Our Lady Undoer of Knots." Many have used it, and many claim miraculous effects. Now, the man who exported it to North America writes about an additional way of powerful intercession by the Blessed Mother, and this time it's not a novena. It's a few simple words: "MARY, TAKE OVER!" Tremendous effects are seen with this, says Denis Bourgerie and his wife, Suzel, who live in Brazil and have written a little booklet to this effect -- have even spoke about the Blessed Virgin at the United Nations! Try this every day and reap the benefits, in all situations. "Mary, take over and resolve what I am not able to resolve. Take care of those things that are beyond my reach. You have the power to do so. Who can ever say that he was disappointed in you after having called you? "Mother, take over at this moment when I see nothing, when there does not seem to be any light in the tunnel, this moment of doubt, fear, this hour of making the right decision when everything seems to be going against me." It is Denis who also spearheaded construction of a church, "Mary, Gate of Heaven," in South America, and he tells a number of accounts of how -- by simply crying forth, "Mary, take over!" (as well as going to the "Undoer of Knots") -- he and others have defeated "Goliaths" in their lives -- including Goliaths who tried to ruin establishment of their holy efforts. Once, hopelessly overburdened with too much luggage -- trying to get back to Brazil from Europe with religious items that put him 230 pounds over the airline's limit -- Denis repeated over and again in desperation and even loudly, "Mary, take over" -- faced with massive extra charges, if the items, all religious articles, were even allowed. Included in the carts he wheeled up to the counter was a huge monstrance. Friends said they would never let him leave France with part of its "artistic heritage" -- even though the monstrance was given to him by an order of Carmelites. There was sweat on his brow. "Denis," a priest had told him, "when you arrive at the airport, don't forget to say 'Mary, take over,' and as a mother, she will take care of everything, of all material you will be taking for her Son. She will resolve all details much better than you can. She is the mother, and she is also the Gate. Therefore, she will open the hearts of the persons and the doors on your way. Just ask for her to take over." He did this dozens of times every day, explained the priest -- "before talking to someone, before making a decision, on the telephone, on the bus, whenever I am in some difficulty. When the mother takes over, the children are protected..." And so Denis did that and beseeched the assistance of Mary -- threw it all on her lap, even loudly, in public -- and was not only allowed to bring everything in those overflowing carts but charged nothing extra! Mary, take over. If we want a mantra, that's one. Jesus, Lord, Jesus My Savior, is of course the best. But what power we have with the Virgin! They could have stopped Denis not only for having far too much luggage, but also, under the rules of France, for that clause about artistic items. Instead, miraculously, there was no issue. A crisis was averted. The same can be true of crises -- or even little trials -- in our own lives. Instead of fretting over every detail, just put them all in her hands and watch how she handles it, how she unties it all: Mary, take over! This was also to occur on another trip, says Denis, when he tried to bring back a huge exact replica of Our Lady Queen of Peace as she appeared in Medjugorje -- right onto the plane itself -- and eventually, after miraculous pleas, was allowed. She was right there, life-sized, in the cabin. He went to the Blessed Mother and asked her to open the doors and doors were opened. After initial refusals and even a scolding by the chief attendant -- who at first flatly refused -- all came to be and women on the flight were suddenly taking out rosaries and then filing to pay homage to Our Lady in the front of the plane. What a testimony! And so are are presenting this booklet. "Mary, take over and resolve what I am not able to resolve. Take care of those things that are beyond my reach. You have the power to do so. Who can ever say that he was disappointed in you after having called you?" As Denis and his wife, a doctor, point out, "She perceives everything, she is attentive to each and every detail. In reality, for her, nothing is a mere detail. Everything is important when the children ask! That is the portrait of a mother." And so now we see another aid to grace. Do not despair. Do not retreat. Give it to the Blessed Mother. Dare in trust. Give it to Jesus. It takes making a call to God, and the area code is, "I believe, Lord Jesus," followed by the rest of the number: "Mary, take over!" (It's a call you can make any time anywhere with reduced rates on Sunday.) "How many Goliaths have already appeared in your life?" Denis asks. "Goliaths who try to make you give up, obfuscate your goals, weaken your good resolutions, your Christian objectives?" In Denis's case, another "Goliath" entered his life when a decadent nightclub opened right across from the church he had built. The nightclub faced the Blessed Mother's very sanctuary! And soon, the lawn around the church was littered with empty whisky bottles, broken beer containers, syringes, and even condoms -- litter that Denis was forced, day after day, to pick up. The nightclub had a tower that looked like the minaret of a mosque, statues of Roman divinities, a huge icon to the sun god (with a towering torch), and nude dancers. Across from the little church! Mary, take over. Mary, undo this knot. Change obstacles into miracles! And in fact this occurred when one day suddenly the nightclub moved and the building kept changing hands. There was a murder there. The clientele diminished. This was also true of subsequent uses of this land. Meanwhile, the sanctuary Denis helped to establish was busier than ever -- now with pilgrims having to follow Mass outside. Thousands were coming to the church where before thousands were inside the nightclub. Not only that, but the former nightclub property was soon offered for sale to Denis! "It was on the eighth of March when the deal was sealed, the day of 'Mary, Undoer of Knots,'" he writes in his booklet, Mary Take Over! "At three in the afternoon, I signed the purchase contract for that nightclub!" Did we neglect to mention that Denis had slipped a medal of the Blessed Mother into the foundation when the nightclub was being built? In case you missed it, the Mary Undoer of Knots novena comes from a mysterious painting of her undoing knots [see archive]. Denis learned about it when one day he happened upon a sanctuary devoted to her in Buenos Aires. "Mary, Undoer of Knots, pray for us!" he called -- in the same way that he now says, "Mary, take over!" "And, suddenly, my life started to pass in front of my eyes like a film. "How many knots we carry throughout our lives that hobble us, immobilize us, impede that God's Grace act on us!" he writes. "Our lives are a jumble of knots! Knots in our personal lives, family lives, work lives, community lives. Knots, big and small, that we or others formed, that chain us, leave us vulnerable, fragile, timorous, enslaved, unhappy. "Knots of anguish, of fear; knots of depression, which we cannot untie. Knots in our relationships with our spouses, parents, children, brothers, and sisters." But when Mary takes over, those knots dissolve. She undoes them. She takes over. And she sees the knots we didn't even know were there tying us down.
