I always have the rosary of my late grandfather, the most holy person that I met in my life. But that's all.

I carry the relics of St Gemma, St Maria Goretti, and the Passion Fathers. I have witnessed several miracles when showing these to people..

Hey, you reminded me, i have a ring of our lady and Saint Jude on my keyring. I only noticed lately, since i have a lot of keys, i wear the key ring outside my pocket... so my keys don't bunch up in my pocket. I wonder if people notice (what must they think lol).

I guess every little thing helps.

    :)

Miraculous medal, St Michael the Archangel medal and St Joseph Medal, I occasionally have A Padre Pio Medal but he always seems to go missing and ends up in someone else's possession. I think since my full confession a few years ago his main work with me is done.

I sometimes get my medals blessed after confession but most often only get to pour holy water on them.

I have kept this picture from the Pieta prayer book in my wallet for about 15 years now. It reads.....

This picture of Our Lady was drawn by a mystic in Italy. Her hand was guided by Our Lady.

There is a special blessing given each day to the person who carries it and another blessing given each time one looks at it with love.

A blessed rosary, a St. Joseph medal, a medallion of St. JPII blessed by JPII and the Brief of St. Anthony.

Many Catholics make a practice of wearing or carrying on their persons a copy of the famous Brief of St. Anthony ensuring for themselves his powerful protection against dangers to soul and body.

In the 13th century, a poor Portuguese woman resolved to put an end to her life. On her way to the river, as she was passing a shrine of St. Anthony, she cast herself on her knees for a moment to breathe, as she thought, a last prayer to the saint. While kneeling there she fell asleep. On awakening she found herself delivered from her terrible temptation, and hanging around her neck she found the Brief or Letter of St. Anthony.

When the women's story was spread, great curiosity was aroused. The king had the brief brought to him and placed it in the royal archives where it is still preserved with the crown jewels of Portugal. After the Brief was no longer with her, she began to weaken and lapse, so the King made a copy for her that restored her to her healed state. Other copies of the Brief were spread to help the faithful fight the Evil One and remind them that Christ has conquered.

"The Brief consists of a Cross with the following words: `Ecce Crucem Domine. Fugite, partes adverasae, Vicit Leo de Tribu Juda, Radix David, Alleluia." English translation: `Behold the Cross of the Lord. Flee ye adversaries, the Lion of the Tribe of Juda, the Root of David has conquered. Alleluia.'

Rosary in my pocket, and two chains. One with a crucifix, the other has a Miraculous Medal and a St. Benedict Medal. Occasionally I will carry a St. Faustina Medal and an Our Lady of America Medal. I do plan on wearing a brown scapular (I have one from the Carmelite Sisters) but am waiting until I was in full communion with the church first.

I don't typically have items in my pocket but I always wear the miraculous medal and most of the time always wear the brown scapular.

This Pope is different, but very different… That’s something we must agree. In less than two minutes, two things unseen before in the papacy. Perhaps I’m not old enough.

    • He shows us what he carries in the pocket. That’s something very catholic. Our private catholic guns of faith, our intimacy with the Divine. Something we hold privately during our daily tasks of the life, during our conversations with people.
That’s beautiful, that’s great and I haven’t seen a Pope doing this before.

    • He brings something referred as the Via Crucis of Jesus Christ, the Stations of the Cross, and calls that, with emphasis on his voice, la historia del fracaso de Dios, “the history of God’s failure”. That’s also something unseen before.
I’m sorry Pope but that’s just wrong and disturbs me deeply.

The way of the cross, the Passion of Christ, has always been preached as the history of the Triumph of God, the victory over the sin, over the devil. That’s how I’ve learned and that’s enough for me.

In the native Portuguese countries, people often sing this hymn in ceremonies, processions and other celebrations related to the Passion of Christ:

Closing of a Via Crucis ceremony in a parish of São Paulo, Brazil

Vitória! Tu reinarás! Ó Cruz tu nos salvarás.

Victory! You will reign! O Cross you will save us.
