Does anyone have any idea what has happened to Michae Brown and Spirit Daily? There haven't been any updates for about two weeks.
Today is the Feast of St Joachim and St Ann and he has a link posted? You might need to do a google for the site and repostmark it. http://www.spiritdaily.com/
A lovely thing happened to me at mass this morning. I was in a Church I do not usually got to. It was the Feast of St Ann and Joachim the parents of Our Lady. So the priest was talking about grand parents and ho9w this was a Feast for grandparents. I have a great devotion to St Ann , considering it really wonderful that she is the mother of Our Lady. Just imagine the honour! After Mass I sat on praying to her and suddenly on looking up I saw a statue of her and Our Lady as a little girl across the Church. I never realised they had such a statue, I took it as a sign!! Lovely.
There is something so special about St Ann. The big clue of course is that she is the Mother of Our Lady and the grandmother of Jesus. That tells us a huge amount. In a way that tells us jut about all we need to know. For since Ann was chosen for this role she must be something very, very special indeed. I don;t know what it is like in other countries but in Ireland many, many Churches have statues of St Anne, always with the young Mary. There used to be one in a Church near our home were we went every week as boys for a confraternity. It is funny how these things can stick; it was through that statue I first gained a devotion to St Anne. I always had a devotion to our Lady of course but to see Our Lady being instructed by St Anne, I always found jaw dropping.
That is a most interesting video, I always wondered what happened to Lazarus, he had to die a second time for good and proper. Why is this Church History not taught anymore, thank God we have access to homilies like this on line. I'm going to tell this story to my children tonight, God knows they won't be hearing it at school or from the pulpit. It seems that by burying Church history biblical figures become mythological and so make our faith less real, less true. Makes me think how much more I don't know... yet
