It has been on my mind as of late that there will be a place of refuge for those "Marked by the Sign of Christ". I know that we can all build our own "fortress" in our present environment, but I am less and less convinced this is what God's plan is. This may be good for our near future plan, but what if God is calling his people to a chosen place of refuge, a place of community, a place of prayer with other like minded Catholics during the worldly chastisements to take place after the Great Miracle? Has anyone thought of this? What if you were called by "heaven" to relocate to a place unknown during this period? Would you leave your place as the Holy Family did into "Eygpt"? Last week it came to me that there would be a calling to a place of refuge. Today it came to me that this place of refuge would be for those that are sealed with the sign of Christ on your forehead. This sign would be given to all those who have heeded the request of Our Blessed Mother for Prayer (especially the daily rosary), penance (especially fasting), and faithful to to Church teachings. I know I have read in various prophesies that there is indeed palces of refuge. I have also read where the "saints" in these times will be marked with the sign of Christ. Just looking for anyone else's insight on this.
When I became converted during an apparition in 1997, I started having locutions and for about 9 months was very intense. I felt like my life here was a dream world, and the spiritual life was "reality". Anyway, at the time Jesus told me to stay in my house. He did not say why, but I assumed that I was to stay here until my husband moved back home. Now I am getting more and more disabled, and the house is up on top of a hill with a steep driveway and then 47 more steps to the main level. I want and NEED to move, but I keep thinking of what Jesus told me and wondering now if it has something to do with being a refuge?? He doesn't answer me regarding this, so I have been waiting for Him to show me the right house somehow to move to. Everything I think will work for me just keeps falling through so I still am where Jesus told me to stay. So I know the feeling...and I too wonder if the prophecies about refuges are true....
Wow, Carmel, this is amazing ( the apparitions to you) I don't know what to say about the difficulties and the refuge. Can you ask to be directed?
I and other members of my family have been feeling this too, Fatima. We've joined a family prayer group with others from the broader area but I believe that this is only a start, I really feel that we need to start thinking and praying towards forming communities and possibly even places of refuge. I've been feeling this for some time now. I live with my elderly mother and young son in a large house on quite a bit of land and the thought has often occurred to me that there may come a time when our home will become a place of refuge. There is a small ruin right smack in the middle of our property which is owned by a local school trust and my sister has put the idea to them to build a small oratory on the site, where there would be Eucharistic adoration. I know one person on the board of trust has embraced this idea and has already put some of the wheels in motion. This would be just wonderful if it came about! I would really begin to feel that our property is indeed a place of refuge if that happened. Other members of the family would not agree with this idea at all, of course, but that is another matter...
who are the visionaries who have said there will be physical places of refuge? The ones I've heard of I tend to be skeptical of (i.e. John Leary). will these places be somehow protected from what's going on? As well, who has said we will have a visible sign on our foreheads? will it be like Fr. Sudac? I'm skeptical about physical places of refuge, but obviously it would be great if these places existed. Perhaps the talk is referring to under our lady's mantle and is therefore more symbolic? I haven't put any thought into or had feelings about places of refuge, but then again I haven't really had the cycles to dedicate much thought to this, as my spiritual world lately has revolved around the consecration to Mary.
One thing that is very odd about my house, is that if you would google it, you cannot see it on the satalite and an arrow shows the address across the street and down a block! It's like its invisable on the internet!
I have no idea who, if anyone, has spoken of this or what they might have said and my thoughts on this aren't based on any particular prophesy. As far as I'm concerned, a "place of refuge" simply means a place where my family and possibly other like-minded individuals or families could come together and support one another, spiritually but possibly also in other ways, such as working/living/praying together in Christian community with the possibility of having Holy Mass and Eucharistic adoration on site if necessary. It's difficult to know what might be necessary when we don't know the nature of what might happen in the future and what our needs might be. I live in a rural area, in a community where there has been mass apostacy, just like everywhere else. I believe that a time will come when things will turn nasty for Catholics and there is strength and safety in numbers.
Shouldn't we be getting our appartions/visions checked etc.. If two visionaries told you two different things, which one would you go with?
PS some say we will have a seal on our head too. In fact, we all have permanent seals placed on our souls during confirmation.
I have heard it said potato sack, but don't really take much notice. Others have said only those with the seal can be saved and only if they come here to receive the seal.. My Sacraments are all I need. I trust 100% in my Jesus.
Ok, I'm going to jump in. I first want to say, we must be careful what we say on the internet. ALL IS SEARCHABLE, AND FOREVER ON THE INTERNET. Secondly, I spent three years asking this question and was given answers to all my questions from Jesus and Mary and Holy Priests and Bishops whom I consulted with. I asked the question six years ago when I met a woman who Jesus and Mary speak to. She lives a very humble life with her husband in a trailer. She was told she would come into a great deal of money and she was to fast and pray for one week. She did and a man showed up at her door one morning and said, "I've driven 150 miles and I have no ideal who you are but the good Lord came to me in a dream and told me how I was to spend my money that I had acquired. He sent me to you to give you this." He handed her the money in an envelope and left. The Lord then told her she was to put the money on an auction at the court house for properties being auctioned off. She won the auction! She was now half owner of an abandoned military base, with underground tunnels, housing etc. Who was the other owner? Someone else who the same thing happened to. I was witness to this true story and when asked why, when , what for? It is this. Our Lord and our Lady have created thousands, if not millions 'mini' places that will be places to go that are 'temporary'. There are very, very few permanent places. Those will be utilized when the 'final events' come. This sign on the forehead is true. We ARE marked when we are baptized and confirmed. But at this particular calling of the spirit it will be the CONSECRATION to Mary that will mark us HER CHILDREN. I have spoken about this earlier on the forum at length if anyone wants to look it up. I was living on the west coast of the U.S. and was told under no uncertain terms..."GET OFF THE COAST". By Jesus. It was so loud, so powerful that I would have walked out of the door with just my children and husband. It took us TWO YEARS to get off and get where our Lord was taking us....and He knew it would take that long, but once done we are astounded how many doors, miracles and gifts we had been given once we were obedient!! Our Lord took me TWICE across the U.S. and showed me places that He and our Lady have created. Some of these are public, some are private and quiet. BE ASSURED THAT IF YOU ARE LIVING THE LIFE OUR LADY HAS ASKED, YOU WILL BE CALLED. EVEN IF IT IS AT THE LAST MINUTE AND THE LAST SECOND SHE WILL LEAVE ONE MORE SECOND FOR THAT LAST PERSON TO BE CONVERTED AND COME UNDER HER MANTLE OF PROTECTION. We all have children, spouses, family members who are not faithful, but this is where the illumination comes in. After that MANY, MANY, MANY WILL GET OFF THAT FENCE. If you are being called, then pray and walk forward. IF IT IS OF GOD, DOORS WILL OPEN, OPEN, OPEN. The thought of living with many people is great sounding for 'about a day'.....This is going to take supernatural strength on the part of all of us----faith,love, charity, self-giving---AN ABANDONMENT OF SELF....and this can only be done if we live in the 'domestic Church' the smaller, more intimate Church which we will be called to during the persecution!! Think of it as a small Benedictine monastery. I lived in one for four days while in Germany. It was a Benedictine Convent filled with Phillipino nuns who spoke German and English and their native tongue. They were TOTALLY self sufficient. They had a strict rule of prayer and fasting and they each had a job. They farmed, raised bees, traded goods and services, raised animals and made things. I was taken to big places and small. Country and city. It is my understanding they are all over the world. Waiting...waiting...waiting....

I didn't want to do my third consecration to Our Lady this year, I figured I had done it, but I felt I heard strongly from our Lord to do it! A strong, beautiful post, MS7! I feel strongly that if we live our christian lives, the Lord will lead us, even if it is at the last moment. Mirjana has said when the secrets are known then we will understand the reason for fasting on Wed. and Fri.'s. We must find our refuge in the Immaculate Heart. Remember the priests in Hiroshima that went unscathed at ground zero during the atomic bombing.

There is only one way to prepare. Cleanse your hearts of all sin. Gather your loved ones in prayer. Move away from all that the world holds dear. Let your hearts go out to the poor. These are the basic preparations. Do not omit them and, when the events break forth, I will enlighten you.
