BREAKING: Fr. Paul Kalchik Leaves For Undisclosed Location After Chicago Archdiocese Threatens Forcible Removal by Police

    Fr. Paul Kalchik

Just hours ago, new Chicago Auxiliary Bishop Mark Bartosic arrived unannounced at Resurrection Parish on Chicago's Northwest side and told Pastor Paul Kalchik that he had just minutes to get his belongings together and vacate the premises or the police would be called to arrest him for trespassing.

Fr. Kalchik was about to perform a wedding.

Soon after, Fr. Kalchik left for an undisclosed location, accompanied by his brother who had been visiting the parish.

Bp. Bartosic performed the wedding instead, hastily slipping out the door of the church only seconds after concluding the ceremony.

Fr. Kalchik had been ordered by Cardinal Cupich and the archdiocese to report for psychiatric counseling and perhaps confinement yesterday after controversy broke concerning the exorcism and burning of a "gay rainbow flag" on parish grounds last week.

Fr. Kalchik had also called for Catholics to "boycott" masses celebrated by Cardinal Cupich due to Cupich's alleged involvement in the current clerical sex abuse scandal.

The flag - a rainbow with a superimposed cross - had been unveiled above the altar by a previous pastor Fr. Daniel Montalbano in 1991 to signal that the parish would be "gay friendly." Later taken down, it was rediscovered only recently by Fr. Kalchik.

Fr. Montalbano, a confidante of Cardinal Bernardin passed away in 1997 at the age of 50.

Fr. Montalbano was found dead in a rectory room behind and above the altar, literally hooked up to a masturbation device of his own design.

Today, a small group of parishioners not involved in the wedding but who had heard of the sudden appearance of Bp. Bartosic, stood stunned outside the Church. The group also included two employees who were hastily told by the bishop to report to work as normal on Monday.

One of the parishioners, a Chicago policeman, told me of some of the bizarre events of the last week, including numerous threats of death and rape against Fr. Kalchik, at least two probable attempted break-ins or acts of vandalism, one of which included breaking keys into all the locks in the doors of the church office. And then there was the visit by two Archdiocese representatives, yesterday, ordering Fr. Kalchik to vacate his parish and commit himself into psychiatric confinement.

One of these was Fr. Dennis Lyle, the same prelate who had visited St. John Cantius a few months ago to inform parishioners that their pastor, Fr. Phillips, had been relieved of his position there.

Fr. Kalchik had written of his own psychological trauma after being molested as a boy and as a young adult by two men - one of them a priest - in separate incidents. It is assumed that he will not comply with the order of the archdiocese. He is not now "hospitalized" as some reports have suggested.

The parishioners outside told me that Fr. Kalchik, who has been at Resurrection Parish for eleven years, has the full support of his parish.

Many of them will no doubt only discover what happened, tomorrow, when coming to Mass assuming it will be celebrated by Fr. Paul, will instead encounter Bp. Bartosic.

'Pope Francis made a plea for tolerance to Lithuanians as he began a visit to the Baltic states, warning against political forces that would seek to eliminate other cultures.

The remarks by Francis in Vilnius on September 22 came on the first day of his four-day visit to Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia as they mark their 100th anniversary of independence this year.

Francis called on Lithuania, a predominately Catholic country, to use its decades of occupation by the Soviets and the Nazis as a basis for battling intolerance in the world.

"Look at the world in which we are living, in which the voices that sow division and confrontation are becoming ever louder," he said.

Speaking outside the presidential palace in Vilnius, Francis said political forces in the world are "proclaiming that the only way possible to guarantee security and the continued existence of a culture is to try to eliminate, cancel, or expel others."

Francis, who was greeted by Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite at the airport, said that before Lithuania's occupation by Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union in the 20th century, the country was home to a range of religious and ethnic groups that lived side-by-side in peace.

"You have suffered 'in the flesh' those efforts to impose a single model that would annul differences under the pretense of believing that the privileges of a few are more important than the dignity of others or the common good," Francis said.

I am sure Fr Kalchik; just expelled from his Parish for burning a homosexualist flag would agree.

Pardon me, I know this is not relevant, but I can't help but notice that Fr Paul Kachik has been blessed with good looks!

Chicago Priest Goes Into Hiding to Escape Cdl. Cupich’s Punishment
Priests sent by Cupich allude to Fr. Kalchik's 'death' if he refuses treatment
    https://www.churchmilitant.com/news/article/chicago-vicars-threaten-priest-for-burning-rainbow-flag
    by Christine Niles, M.St. (Oxon.), J.D. • ChurchMilitant.com • September 22, 2018

CHICAGO (ChurchMilitant.com) - Church Militant confirmed Saturday that Fr. Paul Kalchik, pastor of Resurrection Parish in Chicago, has fled his parish and gone into hiding, one day after two chancery priests threatened him that if he did not get psychiatric treatment, Cdl. Blase Cupich would ensure he'd be taken away by police.

"The full frontal attack took place this evening, and the attack resulted in me not saying the evening Mass, nor leading the Rosary Benediction," Fr. Kalchik told Church Militant Friday night about the confrontation with Msgr. Dennis Lyle and Fr. Jeremy Thomas, both vicars for priests.

    Chicago Thuggery
The vicars for priests, acting on behalf of Cdl. Cupich, confronted Kalchik just as he was leaving to say 6 p.m. Mass, asking to meet with him privately. Kalchik refused to meet alone, instead gathering parishioners to be witnesses to the exchange.

Lyle and Thomas made clear they were there on order of Cdl. Cupich, who insisted that Kalchik be sent to St. Luke Institute for his "psychiatric issues." Both vicars for priests had also only days before threatened that Kalchik could have his faculties removed if he failed to comply with Cupich's orders.

The orders came after parishioners burned a rainbow flag that once hung in the sanctuary back when Resurrection parish was designated Chicago's "gay" parish. Church Militant broke the news on Sept. 15, which has since been reported on national news outlets, drawing widespread attention to the parish. The flag-burning event took place in spite of Cupich's warnings to call it off. Kalchik himself did not burn the flag, but parishioners took things into their own hands and held the flag-burning ceremony themselves. In response to what Cupich saw as defiance, he ordered Kalchik to St. Luke (a treatment center with a notorious past, whose former CEO was convicted in 2014 of embezzling $200,000 dollars, which he spent on gay lovers).

"I made it clear to them that I was not just going to cave and walk away from being pastor here at Resurrection Parish, and I stated clearly: I was once worked over by an ordained minister of the Church; it's not going to happen again," Kalchik wrote. "I will not leave Resurrection Parish on my own accord."

Kalchik is twice a victim of homosexual assault — once when he was 11 years old and raped by a homosexual neighbor, and again at age 19, when he was assaulted by a priest twice his size. Kalchik published his testimony for the first time in an open letter to Pope Francis on Sept. 6.

According to parishioners Miriam and Wayne Smith, who spoke with Kalchik immediately after the confrontation, the vicars for priests "attempted to order him to pack his bags and leave, but he refused."

"Fr. Kalchik told them that he had done nothing wrong and that he was going nowhere," the Smiths told Church Militant. "They continued to use crude and threatening language that upset the staff members present very much."

In a disturbing twist, the two vicars for priests alluded to Kalchik's death when he continued to refuse to leave with them.Tweet
"Fr. Kalchik told those two enforcers that he had Mass to celebrate in the morning and that he was needed in the parish," the Smiths continued. "The response from the two was to ask him, 'What would happen if you were dead?'"

They could have asked, "What would happen if you were sick or injured?" but they asked him what would happen if he was dead. Based on that it is clear that if any harm came to Fr. Kalchik it would be on the orders of Cdl. Cupich. They continued to bully and verbally insult and attack Fr. Kalchik until it was clear that he was not going to do as they demanded because he had done nothing wrong. They left the rectory and everybody was very shaken up because they never expected that kind of behavior from the representative of Cdl. Cupich.

The Smiths said they left the rectory at 7:30 p.m. and saw both Lyle and Thomas "skulking around across the street in the shadows." When the priests saw that they had been noticed, they entered their vehicles and drove off.

    (video)

Since the confrontation, Church Militant has confirmed with a parishioner that Kalchik has gone into hiding, just before he was scheduled to preside over a 2 p.m. wedding at Resurrection Parish.

"Cardinal Cupich just sent an ultimatum — go, or the police will come. We could not stand for him to be taken away in handcuffs like a criminal," said one parish staff member to Church Militant. "So he's gone."

"His options were to leave on his own or be taken out forcibly by the police," the staff member added. "I am so glad now that he is gone because we have loud horrible protestors screaming outside our 4:30 Mass. I'm in my office afraid to go out right now. They want his blood."

One of the vicars for priests wound up saying the Saturday evening Mass, informing parishioners Kalchik was gone but that the archdiocese sought "reconciliation."

Father Jeremy Thomas, 52, is originally from Wales, coming to work in the Chicago archdiocese in 2001. Assigned to St. Jerome parish since 2001, he was implicated in a gay scandal after a parish financial manager accused Thomas of "suspicious video rentals" and "financial irregularities." Thomas never responded to the charges, but the financial manager was fired.

The same manager had exposed neighboring parish priest Fr. Mark Sorvillo at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, convicted of embezzling thousands of dollars from the parish, which he spent on a male stripper he met at a gay club. Although his conduct had been reported multiple times to the archdiocese, little was done.

Monsignor Dennis Lyle served as rector of Mundelein Seminary from 2006–12. In the 1990s Mundelein earned the nickname "The Pink Palace" for its rampant homosexual subculture, one dormitory wing called "The Catwalk" to denote the effeminate, fashion-conscious homosexual seminarians who resided there.

    Break-Ins and Death Threats
Resurrection Parish has suffered break-ins and Kalchik has received death threats ever since parishioners burned the rainbow flag on parish property.

"This was no regular rainbow flag, but a banner merging the Cross with the rainbow," a parishioner explained. "It was not innocent. It was a signal that this parish would be the new 'gay' parish, as Fr. Daniel Montalbano's previous church, St. Sebastian, home to gay Masses, had burned down."

Montalbano was close friends with Cdl. Joseph Bernardin, who presided over Resurrection parish's 1991 inaugural Mass, the rainbow flag draped over the crucifix in the sanctuary. Montalbano was a known homosexual, holding gay parties in the parish basement. He died an untimely death at age 50, his body found in his rectory bedroom hooked up to a sex machine.

A parish staff member who was eyewitness to the event spoke with Church Militant and confirmed the account. After Montalbano failed to respond to knocking on his bedroom door, staff broke down the door to find Montalbano naked and still attached to a sex machine. The archdiocese covered up the incident, reporting that Montalbano had died from a "heart attack," offering him a priest's funeral shortly afterward.

The priest installed after Montalbano, Fr. Juan Sanchez-Espinosa, came through the notorious Casa Jesus, a house of formation set up under Bernardin explicitly to recruit gay seminarians from Latin America. Sanches was suspended in 2006 after a 26-year-old man accused him of drugging him and sexually assaulting him.

I am not exactly sure that Fr Kalchik burned the flag or if his parishioners did.
I seem to remember a tweet saying that he did not. That point is apparently moot now. This is from the book of Revelation where the woman flees into the desert.

Bishop Bartosic evidently spends a great deal of time in front of the mirror. Is it not neglectful of a man in his position to be so concerned with the complex symmetry of his facial hair? I doubt Padre Pio had to do so much intricate work with his beard.

Have we a hierarchy any more, or a nomenklatura. Is Bartosick a bishop or an apparatchik?

Imagine if Fr Kalchik has erected a rainbow flag over the altar and supported LGBT, 'Rights'. Would the Bishop have turned up in preson and expelled him accussed him of being mad and threatening to call the police?

No he'd probably be well on the road to being made a Bishop himself instead of on the way to the Lunatic Asylum.

It just goes to show the arrogance of these people that if you happen to disagree with them you much be , 'Nuts'.

Remember that quote from St Anthony of the Desert?

I wouldn't allow these people the excuse of themselves being mad. They know exactly what they're at. They know that even the suggestion of 'mental illness', if even half-accepted, is enough to negate one's position as a human being of any authority. This isn't their own madness, it is their satanic strategy, copied from the Bolsheviks.

At the same time, they will not question for a moment the mental well-being of a semi-suicidal man who claims, despite all his relevant physical attributes, to actually be a woman and desires to use the 'ladies'.

Of course, their previous foray into being experts on mental illness didn't work out too well-when, instead of treating it as sin, those who abused little boys and girls were deemed mentally ill and were 'treated' and sent on to fresh, unknowing, pastures.

Just returned from Mass. These are the readings, they seem spine-tinglingly topical (the bolds are mine):

    FIRST READING
    Wisdom 2:12.17-20
Let us condemn him to a shameful death.

    The godless say to themselves,
‘Let us lie in wait for the virtuous man, since he annoys us and opposes our way of life,
reproaches us for our breaches of the law
and accuses us of playing false to our upbringing.
Let us see if what he says is true,
let us observe what kind of end he himself will have.
If the virtuous man is God’s son,
God will take his part and rescue him from the clutches of his enemies:
Let us test him with cruelty and with torture,
and thus explore this gentleness of his
and put his endurance to the proof.
Let us condemn him to a shameful death
since he will be looked after – we have his word for it.’

    RESPONSORIAL PSALM: Ps 53:3-6. 8
Response The Lord upholds my life.

    1. O God, save me by your name;
by your power, uphold my cause.
    O God, hear my prayer;
listen to the words of my mouth. Response

    2. For proud men have risen against me,
    ruthless men seek my life.
They have no regard for God. Response

    3. But I have God for my help.
    The Lord upholds my life.
I will sacrifice to you with willing heart
and praise your name for it is good. Response

    SECOND READING James 3:16 – 4:3
Peacemakers, when they work for peace, sow the seeds which will bear fruit in holiness.

Wherever you find jealousy and ambition, you find disharmony, and wicked things of every kind being done; whereas the wisdom that comes down from above is essentially something pure; it also makes for peace, and is kindly and considerate; it is full of compassion and shows itself by doing good; nor is there any trace of partiality or hypocrisy in it. Peacemakers, when they work for peace, sow the seeds which will bear fruit in holiness.

Where do these wars and battles between yourselves first start? Isn’t it precisely in the desires fighting inside your own selves? You want something and you haven’t got it; so you are prepared to kill. You have an ambition that you cannot satisfy; so you fight to get your way by force. Why you don’t have what you want is because you don’t pray for it; when you do pray and don’t get it, it is because you have not prayed properly, you have prayed for something to indulge your own desires.

I read that the last priest was found dead hooked up to some home made masturbation device in a room behind the altar.

That and the fact that Cardinal Bernardin had close connections to the parish church, the former priest and the blasphemous flag should be enough to warrant an exorcism of the entire property.

What does it say about the state of Christ's Church when a young priest who recognises and disposes of evil is persecuted while geriatric sexual predators are taken out of mothballs and the Chinese Communist Government has a say in who gets Apostolic succession?

When I read about Cardinal Cupich using Soviet tactics of sending the young priest for psychiatric evaluation, I'm reminded of the prophecy of St. Anthony of the Desert:

“A time is coming when men will go mad, and when they see someone who is not mad, they will attack him, saying, ‘You are mad; you are not like us.'”

I suspect that the day will come when anything connected to Cardinal Cupich will need exorcising. (Perhaps he deserves his Stupich nickname). While we should pray for his conversion, I don't think it would be out of place to pray for his removal at least from the hierarchy.

I am going to pray for Fr. Kalchik very much.

I often wonder now, as an adult, if I am living in America. This story is frightening close to 1930's Germany before the war.

I hope too he is fine. I was thinking and praying for him there. At least he had his brother with him when he got the bum's rush from Cupich. I would like to hope he is with his family comforting him having Sunday Dinner together.

A nice idea might be sending him to the luxurious mansion they put Cardinal McCarrick in and maybe Fr Kalchik could work on his conversion. I notice no one ever suggested McCarrick was nuts (maybe because his behaviuor was seen to pretty normal for a Cardinal.)

Yes I hope Fr Kalchik is well, God bless him; poor young man. But if he ever had any hopes of clerical advancement he would have been much, much better being Gay than opposing it.

Still I suppose he knew this and cared more for the Truth and Decency. If I were Fr Kalchik I would not be holding my breath wating for support from the Holy Father.

Do they use psychotropic drugs to numb the patient and subdue them?
    I can only imagine
I am glad this priest fled

They mentioned sending him to St. Luke Institute. I know of a branch of that facility that was located next to a Catholic church in Suitland, MD. I think it may be housed in a building that used to be a now-closed Catholic girls high school. My public high school was next door. Treatment for priests encompasses depression, alcoholism, and sexual dysfunctions according to the internet article. I sure wouldn't want to go there if I were Fr. Kalchick.
Interestingly, the Catholic church next door which was built in the early 1970's, as I remember, is St. Bernardine's (of Siena) St. Bernardine preached against sodomy!
