This essay has been on my heart recently. I find the need and desire to re-read it occasionally, in the vain hope that I'll eventually memorize it. It was originally published in 2014, and re-published in 2020. The author, John C. Wright, is a successful science fiction author who had been a wild-eyed atheist, until he had a conversion experience during a heart attack. He joined the Church in 2008. My favorite part is towards the end, but don't jump to that spot just yet. Take the time to read through the problems he has experienced since his conversion. Faith and Works in a Science Fictional Universe
Thank you for introducing to this writer. I am no fan of the science fiction genre but he may change my mind. He is very eloquent and charitable. And you are right! The last several paragraphs send a chill of joy and delight through me. How wonderfully expressed!!
Great, thanks for the link. I wrote a sci fi pro life story they published there too: https://onepeterfive.com/sealed-with-blood-a-letter-from-a-father-to-his-beloved-son/
Those last few paragraphs make me want to return to writing poetry. Absolutely sublime. Thanks for sharing!
