I said to my 12 year old son this morning: 'Did you hear the latest news' - Jesus Christ is coming to our local Chapel at 11 o'clock today!! Do you think many will turn up to see him? My son looked confused for a few seconds and then he got it. Yes, I said he IS COMING to us but in the form of bread and wine. How many turn up to see 'celebrities' and odd balls at book signings, movie premieres etc But the greatest person who ever lived comes to us everyday not for a book signing but initmately as real flesh and blood. What a gift!! VIVA CRISTO REY
What a gift!..and what a beautiful way of looking at things, Bobby. There's no doubt the Eucharist is at the very centre of all love, of all that is mystical. Awwwwwww I cried watching that..as I am sure the Dear Lord Jesus did when He first instituted the Eternal Sacrifice that night, so long ago in Jerusalem.
Beautiful video Padraig, Jesus left the Mass as a gift to us. And the gift of the Mass is the presence of Jesus to us. Seeing Robert Powell in the video <in my opinion one of the great Jesus's> brought memories flooding back of the mini TV series that he starred in 'Jesus of Nazareth in 1977'. I was 14 years old and fell in love with Jesus watching that series - indeed during the crucifixion I remember having to leave the room [pretending to go to the toilet] as my family all watched it> because I wept bitter tears for Jesus' sufferings - that's the power of that series and the power of the Gospel of Love. His love is the greatest news of all time!! http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075520/
