That video so enraged me I emailed the Bishop and gave him both barrels. But whether he sees the email is another matter was good to get it off my chest.

Mind you it doesn't look like the bishop denying communion but it is under his jurisdiction.

Happened to me one time. Leaves you shaking. Yes, becomes a definite offering up.

It is very sad. Why couldn't they arrange to give Communion on the tongue at the very end of Communion if they're worried about causing stress to folk who are afraid it will spread the virus to them?

This virus has made people act weird. I saw a video where a priest had called the police on a man who wasn't wearing a mask and wouldn't leave the church. The man had brought his son to Mass. With so many fathers abandoning the faith and their children, you'd think the priest would have been delighted to see them at Mass with or without a mask.

It sure has, with much fear & anxiety!!

I would though rather receive in my hand than not at all. I have done so and put my hand to my mouth, put my tongue out to receive Him. Then I lick my hand. I don't go to my previous church much now.

Very sad, the Warning needs to come so that priest...I can't go there. I don't want to broach as though I know his heart. Not my place to suggest he might not believe.

Not a problem at mine either, thank you Lord!! There are a couple priests I know of who still allow it.

You are very brave. I am afraid I have not had the courage to do this.

But now I attend a Traditional Church and so no more worries.:)

As far as I know, it is in Canon Law that communicants should be able to receive Eucharist on the tongue. It seems Bishops are now able to make it up as they go along.

When you think that for years, we all shared the Chalice while the aids epidemic was rampant. I always thought it was a miracle there was not a pandemic of aids among Catholics who shared the Chalice. After all aids spreads through bodily fluids, and it is known that each time a sip is taken from the Chalice droplets of saliva are released by the Communicant. Imagine as the aids epidemic ramped up, the Bishops introduced Communicants sharing the Chalice. You can't help wondering if it was a social experiment to see whether this disease could be released on Roman Catholics and any other Christian community who share the Chalice.

It is also known that there is less contagion when Eucharist is placed on the tongue, than placed on the hand. Just wondering.

People receive on the tongue or in the hand where I go to Mass. There's no altar rail but some young adults kneel anyway. I know people who go to supermarkets and have been to restaurants but say they can't go to Mass for fear of catching the virus. Weird.

They know. It doesn't take a Canon Lawyer. It's pure fear and catering to fear. Fear of being challenged, fear of media.....etc.

Same here! I also see quite an uptick in people coming to daily Mass. My Dad is now going 2x a week, though not yet back on Sunday. Go figure, yet he's not scared of the virus.

You nailed it. This was instilled in them in their priestly formation. How could they not know?

In our diocese, our Bishop Lucia has officially stated that Holy Communion-on-the-tongue cannot be refused. The only related restriction is that you come up after those who receive on the hand.

    Deo gratias!
