Apparently you and I are not 'Traditionalists' but 'Rigid Restorationists', Francis says so, so it must be true. He says that the current reforms are 'irreversible' BUT if he can reverse tradition, someone can equally decide to reverse the 'reforms' with the same authority as he has.

I mean I’ve been called worse

and by golly, I’m in pretty epic company. PopeF simply continues to drive people to the TLM. We aren’t going anywhere.

I don't mind at all being called a Restorationist. :)

Even if I was not very fond of the Old Liturgy I would wonder, like the vast majority of Catholics what on Earth harm it is doing? I mean this is the Form used by many people's parents and grand parents onwards into time immemorial. Were these people so very, very wrong in having this Liturgy?

But there are limits, even to the power of individual Popes. He might want to do away with it, but I don't think he has the power to do so, much as he might like. He can do it quite a bit of harm for the time being perhaps, which is so sad.

He is a sad case, really. That's the kindest thing I can think to say.

If he had of had a shot at this at the start of his Pontificate he might have made more headway. But I get the sense that many, many Bishops and Cardinals are setting their faces against his various erratic goings on and without their help he is rowing without a paddle.

Anyway he is very old and sick and increasingly unpopular.

    We will see....

Let us continue to restore Jesus and His truth in our societies. Let everything we do be for Jesus.

All for Jesus! .........As Mother Theresa Said.

Jesus thirsts for souls, let us satiate His thirst!

We may be seen as rigid or strange to the world but let us depend wholly on Jesus and His grace, so we do not spoil His work.

St Mother Teresa Of Calcutta, pray for us.

There is a whole list of reasons why the World might think Catholics, 'Strange' and 'Rigid.. Believing in God. Going to Mass all the Time. Acting through Faith. Praying.Being opposed to Sexual Perversions and immorality. Murdering the unborn. \Breaking the ten commandments. Pornography.

The List goes on an on.

But what makes these times particularly strange for, 'Rigid', (Faithful Orthodox Catholics who actually believe in the Traditional Teachings of the Church) is that there is more and more clear water between themselves and' Modern' up to date, 'Liberal', 'Progressive Catholics'.

For instance in the belief in Miracles and the Supernatural. Belief in the Transubstantiation, that the Bread and Wine becomes the actual Body and Blood of Christ. That the Mass is the Eternal Sacrifice. That there is a Hell. That the Word of God is the Word of God. The list goes on and on.

The thing is that our fellow Catholics would sneer and look down their noses on us for beliefs as much as the World itself would.

Now this is a new thing and very painful indeed.

BUt more than that to have a Pope who sneers and looks down his nose at us, publically insulting us on numerous occasions.

Now that is a really, really new thing. A Father who endlessly insults and condemns his very own Spiritual Children,.

That truly is a new thing and the horrible sign of the times we are going through.

Yes to everything you say. These are unprecedented times for believing faithful devout Catholics. To my mind this is what makes it different to other terrible times in the Church's history.

It's not so much an itch in the back as a stab in the back.

I still can’t get over that weird feeling I had after I watched Pope Francis pray by himself in the rain at night at St Peter’s for the end to the pandemic. Correct me if I’m wrong.
I was really underwhelmed. Not a High Mass? Exposition? Not beseeching God to help us?

Sigh. I find it better not to dwell on him too much.

I had a thought tonight walking in the dark in our first storm of the year,

'The World is really getting Dark'.

But the word at once came back,

'The World only grows Dark for those who have rejected Christ, but for them it has always been Dark. But for those who accept Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour the World is has it has always been full of Light and the Warmth of Love...'
