Father Joseph Espaillat, 45, currently pastor of St. Anthony of Paduah Parish, was appointed an auxiliary bishop of the archdiocese. He will be ordained to the episcopacy March 1 along with Father John Bonnici, who was also elevated to auxiliary bishop. The Catholic News Agency reported that Espaillat would be the youngest U.S. bishop, almost 15 months younger than the next on the list. I am sure these good Pastors are deserving but I wonder sometimes, why one is selected over another. Let's say (fictitious name) Father Joseph Smith down at the nearby Church, I've found a number of competent priests in different Churches imho. I heard one celebration for a new incoming Auxilary Bishop, definitely some nice Latin singing, I was watching for a rebroadcast of the Mass, I have not found it yet. I did hear him singing one rap song, well, the audio was not the best.
