Pope Francis: Ask Our Lady of Lourdes to Help You Have an Open Heart The Holy Father issued a video message for the Feb. 11 Marian feast day. Hannah Brockhaus/CNAVaticanFebruary 11, 2022Pope Francis on Friday encouraged Catholics to ask Our Lady of Lourdes to intercede for them to have a heart more open to encountering other people and their needs. In a video message for the Feb. 11 feast of Our Lady of Lourdes, the Pope explained that “encounter is always opening oneself to others.” “The opposite of encounter is closing one’s heart,” he said. “Mother, help us not to have closed hearts, because selfishness is a moth that gnaws at the heart from within.” More: Pope Francis: Ask Our Lady of Lourdes to Help You Have an Open Heart| National Catholic Register (ncregister.com) What a great holy speech.
I'm opening my heart right now. Can't wait to see some lesbian Lutheran Bishops campaigning to become the next Pope. If I open my heart wide enough I'm sure I'll get used to the title Holy Mother, or would that be Vicaress of Christ? Maybe he/she/they will choose a gender neutral title like Holy Parent. What would be the gender neutral of Vicar? Maybe Vic?
Thank you for posting this. It is difficult to keep an open heart, something I pray for, and struggle with every day. Peace Mark
