A conversation with James Parker on Pope Francis's recent interview to Associated press. James Parker was abused from 8 years old and was induced into a homosexual lifestyle as a result - God led him out from a same sex relationship through grace and he came to realise that he had been searching for intimacy in the wrong places - he found mercy and intimacy in coming to know Jesus Christ - his love of God and the Catholic Church is very evident from this video talk - God is the fulfilment of all desires
for the majority of history, homosexuality always had pederastic connotations. Nero and Tiberius and their male slaves, for example. it cant be about love, homosexuality is always about overpowering the other person as a victim.
I always carry a cautionary attitude toward those who experience same-sex attraction. I have someone close to me who wields a great evangelistic ministry among Catholics who are living a gay lifestyle. This person effectively stumps those who have embraced a homosexual lifestyle, calling them back to the fullness of the Faith. This friend acknowledges that marriage will never be an option, but has asked Jesus to sit on the throne and rule. I've seen this for myself and it has prevented me from judging those with same-sex attraction. The Lord works through our woundedness no matter what that consists of, for the Lord can reach out to a certain population through it. I have seen that in my own life due to the impact cerebral palsy has had in my life since day 1. People can look at me and ask, "Why is he not embittered?" Joy is a wonderful reality in my life. May Jesus use it for His Glory. So it can be for anyone of us. Never be ashamed of your own woundedness. Jesus wants us to experience the healing of each of our hearts, so that the Holy Spirit can better touch lives through us! For instance, I shared my testimony with the confirmation class this past weekend; it made an impact not because I am great but because these kids have wounds, too. Wounds which only Jesus can heal! O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
