Yes, I'd probably agree in a manner, both could have happened but any clarification is welcomed. I guess, the Presentation of Jesus could have happened and then, later was the flight to Egypt. I have always understood that the Magi did not arrive right at the Nativity but later. Herod wanted all male babies killed up to two years old so Our Lord might well have been upwards of one year old.
