I wonder a bit how these two events fit in with the narrative of Jesus Christ, so, he was presented in the temple per the Gospel of Luke 2:22 and so on:

The Circumcision and Naming of Jesus. 21 When eight days were completed for his circumcision, he was named Jesus, the name given him by the angel before he was conceived in the womb.

The Presentation in the Temple. 22 When the days were completed for their purification according to the law of Moses, they took him up to Jerusalem to present him to the Lord, 23 just as it is written in the law of the Lord, “Every male that opens the womb shall be consecrated to the Lord,” 24 and to offer the sacrifice of “a pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons,” in accordance with the dictate in the law of the Lord.

Yet, the Nativity narrative in Matthew 2 has the Magi, the three kings visiting the Nativity of Jesus and shortly after this Epiphany, the angel appears to St. Joseph in a dream who tells Him to take his family to Egypt, the flight to Egypt:

Matthew 2: 13 and so on:

The Flight to Egypt. 13 When they had departed, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Rise, take the child and his mother, flee to Egypt, and stay there until I tell you. Herod is going to search for the child to destroy him.” 14 Joseph rose and took the child and his mother by night and departed for Egypt. 15 He stayed there until the death of Herod, that what the Lord had said through the prophet might be fulfilled, “Out of Egypt I called my son.”

This seems basic but I was wondering about this. Is there any kind of a conflict? Have those involved in apologetics addressed this? Yes, I'd probably agree in a manner, both could have happened but any clarification is welcomed.

I guess, the Presentation of Jesus could have happened and then, later was the flight to Egypt.

I have always understood that the Magi did not arrive right at the Nativity but later. Herod wanted all male babies killed up to two years old so Our Lord might well have been upwards of one year old.

True, remember that the Magi entered a house, not a manger scene, to honor the king!

Matthew 2:10 When they saw the star, they rejoiced exceedingly with great joy; 11 and going into the house they saw the child with Mary his mother, and they fell down and worshiped him. Then, opening their treasures, they offered him gifts, gold and frankincense and myrrh.
