    It’s wonderful to be entering into this Holy Season of Advent. I must confess, I’m not very prepared. It sort of snuck up on me. I usually like to pick out a book or some sort of website that has daily reflections. If any one has a recommendation, I’d be interested. In the meantime, I do recall hearing from my local priest the reflection /writing of St. Bernard of Clairvaux. He wrote about the 3 Comings of Christ. Two are familiar … the first one when he was born in Bethlehem and the second will be when He returns at the end of time. But, the third was so interesting to me… I think referred by St. Bernard as His intermediate coming…He comes into our hearts and daily lives. His kingdom resides within each of us. Bishop Baron writes about it here:

    Praying we all have a good Advent… to prepare a suitable place in our hearts for the coming of Jesus at Christmas. Peace

    I had the privilege of preaching this weekend! Such a wonderful season! Come Lord Jesus! Kindle the Fire of the Holy Spirit in our hearts! May it become a consuming Flame of Love!

    O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
    Thine own from Satan's tyranny;
    From depths of hell Thy people save,
    And give them victory o'er the grave.
    Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
    Shall come to thee, O Israel.

    O come, Thou Dayspring, from on high,
    And cheer us by Thy drawing nigh;
    Disperse the gloomy clouds of night,
    And death's dark shadows put to flight.
    Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
    Shall come to thee, O Israel.

    O come, Thou Key of David, come
    And open wide our heav'nly home;
    Make safe the way that leads on high,
    And close the path to misery.
    Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
    Shall come to thee, O Israel.
