While reflecting about today´s Gospel reading during mass, a video which some of you may remember came to my mind. It beautifully explains why all true followers of Christ are the salt and the light of the world. I watch it once in a while and almost always tear up Trust God and never worry!
This is excellent, thank you for sharing. He says many things that touched me but I paraphrase a few passages: "Jesus raised moral standards higher than anyone else dared to raise them...Living like this is not something natural but supernatural which is why we have to let others see how we live so they ask themselves, how it is that Christians can be like this? Christians have to been seen as having a higher moral standard of living than others not through words but through our being...Jesus raised the standard and then lifted the people to the standard. What the Church today is doing is lowering the standards to meet the people and that is not light or salt." Also appreciated hearing the reproach he said he gave to the woman who expressed relief at quitting her job where she was the only Christian for the comfort of a job in a Christian environment. He says many ohter things to reflect on, important reminder of how we are to live in these times.
I was never able to reconcile this gospel with the passage about the right hand not knowing what the left is doing... It makes absolute sense now ~ amazing! Thank you for posting the video!
