It just hit me today that the short responsory in the Morning office during Lent is really quite beautiful. It says:

It is he who will free me from the snare of the hunters.
It is he who will free me from the snare of the hunters.
    And from the evil word.
It is he who will free me from the snare of the hunters.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.
It is he who will free me from the snare of the hunters.

It is such a wonderful visual…. That the “hunter” - the evil one, the demons are always ensnaring me in their traps. And the Lord, in his great Mercy is freeing me from those traps and snares. As I go through my day, and often see and yes get ensnared, it is so hopeful to know Jesus is there to set me free again. Mercy!
