Holy Saturday Tombs are cold, dark, bringing out fears of non-being. Jesus lay his body now at peace, bloodless, beaten, broken, His cold flesh at one with the total silence. bloodless, beaten, broken I still recall sitting with my mother-in-law in the dialysis center watching medics shocking and doing their best to resuscitate her beloved spouse, Joseph: to no avail. Such a feeling of helplessness and pain of loss, realizing he was gone! So too Jesus truly died, but now is risen and lives forever loving, sustaining, and guiding us into eternity!
