Last night I took a walk with the dog and was in some rather deep prayer with the Lord and actually St. Gemma who I just learned about yesterday. Later in the night as I was heading for bed I saw the most beautiful moon out one of the windows of my house. It was so peaceful for some reason. A few seconds later I was at the kitchen window and the moon looked completely different. It had a huge cross in front of it with the moon in the center. It was so beautiful. I couldn't believe my eyes. I went outside to look at and the cross was not there at all but then again there through the kitchen window. I took some pictures of it but they do not do it justice at all. The cross extended all the way down to the horizon and upward and much bigger than the pictures. I thought maybe it was a trick in one of the kitchen window panes but it was present in both kitchen window panes but no other windows. I will temporarily use it as my avatar. Again it was such a wonderful feeling to see it and feel it. Can't really explain it but just wonderful.

I also noticed the moon last night but what I saw was different. I was driving home from a night class and saw something glowing orange/red on the horizon. My initial reaction was that something was on fire very near my house and I got a bit of a fright. I then realised it was the moon that I had seen, but by then it was obscured by houses. I could see it again as I came near home, it wasn't as red as before but looked like a big orange in the sky. It rose very fast though and after a while it just looked normal to me.

A few nights ago, though, I had the most bizarre dream about the moon. I was sitting in a classroom in my old school, at night time. I was sitting beside the window gazing out at a full moon in the sky when myself and the girl/woman beside me saw the moon begin flashing on and off very rapidly, like an eye blinking. We tried to draw it to the attention of the others in the room but everyone was talking and animated and we couldn't get their attention. Eventually I shouted something like "Everyone, look at what is happening to the moon, this is important!" When we looked out again we saw a shadow coming across the moon until it eclipsed it completely, and then a massive aircraft of some kind hovering right beside the moon, very dark and ominous looking and we knew we were in great danger. Then I woke up. Odd and quite scary! I kind of wondered was Our Lady trying to tell/teach me something, since I was in a classroom, and it was my old school which has a big statue of Our Lady on the front part of the roof, a Mercy Convent school.

Wow Padraig. That picture is almost exactly how big the cross over the moon was to the naked eye at 11pm last night. So beautiful. Reminded me last night of the St. Benedict cross.

Wow this is interesting. Two mornings ago something woke me up at 5:30 am. It was a huge glowing moon very close to the horizon and shining right on my bed through my window. I live on a hill so was easy to view. I laid awake and prayed for an hour, just looking at the beautiful moon and watching it sink. Then about ten minutes before it set, it turned a deep orange. Was just beautiful!

It's funny, the past few months when there's been a full moon it has seemed to me to be brighter than I have ever seen it before. Last month I got up at about midnight to go to the bathroom and for a minute I thought it was dawn, the house was lit up so bright, but it was the moonlight. I could see everything outside clear as day (we live in the countryside so no street lights).

I find it interesting and symbolic that this rare asteroid will block out the brightest star in not just any constellation but the constellation Leo the lion. Our lord is a lamb but returns to us as lion.

I just showed my moon picture to my kids and my 6 year old said, "maybe that means Jesus will come back down soon". I said, "maybe?"

I just searched for moon and cross on google and found this same image. It looks exactly like the picture I took. Pretty cool. According to the web page I found it on this is what they said.

“This picture of the moon was taken by my sister-in-law Jeanette on Good Friday around 10 PM.

[IMG]Greg keeps sending us signs from heaven that he is with us ALL, and awesome things lie ahead in the battle against pancreatic cancer and with Dr. Moser at Harvard!

Greg is our beacon of light that brings us HOPE!

    BeliEVE!”

    Love,
    Cathy

It actually looked so much like the star of bethlehem at times then it would look just like a cross then the star of bethlehem again. It was so beautiful and completely caught me off guard when I saw it.

Last night I saw this same thing (5/13/14) around 10:30 pm. My son saw it first and said look mom, look at the cross. I looked up out my window and saw it. I thought it was the glare from my window, but outside it was the same. I saw it just like you and wondered what it meant. This is the third time I have seen this in a year and it is unmistakable. We were greatly afraid when we saw it, but we felt reassured that it was good that we saw it. My fourteen year old son said he thought that it meant that our community would be safe from the harm that would come. I thought the same thing. I am praying that God reveals what this means for us all. Why is it some saw it and others don't? What has God revealed to you as far as a meaning for you if you if you saw it? It was the best sleep I got last night, I was completely at peace and woke up in peace.

I have been praying about this today and the Lord guided me to Ephesians chapter 2. I believe this was meant for everyone, but more specifically verse 16-16

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

The cross represents we are reconciled through Jesus and WE ALL have access by one Spirit to the father. Amen :)

Last week, I woke up in the middle of the night and saw a huge cross filling the sky with the moon at its center, and yes, it was St. Benedict's cross.. I saw this TWO nights in a row. I'm Episcopalian, and our priest is on vacation, and after the Eucharist this past Sunday, I mentioned it to his substitute at coffee hour, and the guy walked backwards away from me as though I were a schizophrenic or a demoniac. I wonder if anyone else in the northeast saw this? I live in Northwestern CT. I was not afraid. I was awed. And now, mystified, and I cannot help but think that God is communicating something to me. Almost ten years ago, I felt called to the priesthood, but my then parish priest, told me it was not God's will. (The process to become an Episcopal priest is somewhat different than becoming a Roman Catholic priest - the bishop ultimately decides - discerns - but there is a lengthy discernment process at one's parish - usually two years - that involves both your parish priest and a "discernment committee" of laypersons. I never made it to the "discernment committee" part. Though it was the most painful era of my life, I finally accepted that it was God's will that I not pursue any ordained ministry in the Church. (I'm a writer - a theatre artist - I really thought maybe God had it all wrong when I felt his call to serve him, and yet, I did, and still do, I think. And I have been broken since - like a partial person - even though on some ;evel, I'm the l;ickiest man in the world. I've been blessed with having had opportunities to make some money; my wife loves me still. and we have a great daughter who is a rising senior in college. And I became so angry because I completely humbled myself. And for what? I'm not sure. Since that time, I have not put Christ first in my life. And I wondered if maybe that was the message - and it was that simple. CHrist is here. That's the greatest message of the Gospel. Follow him. As you all know, a life of faith is complex and so utterly unsure. But I do wonder if God is trying to convey any particular lesson or insight to me? In any event, I ask for your prayers, so I can figure out what significance this vision - this sighting - has for me with regard to the world in general and of participating in the life of Christ's Church in particular. Thank you!
