I had some thoughts on the illumination of conscience I would like to share.

As far as I know, the illumination of conscience sounds an awful like a near death experience, which people experience when they die. We will all review our lives with God, be judged on the smallest sins and see the after life. The type of judgment NDE experiencers have sound a lot like what saints have said: we will be judged on love. There are a few things which it brings to mind.

First thing is that we will probably be judged not only on the letter of the commandments but the spirit too. The slightest infractions against God or neighbor will bring us shame if not repented of, similar to how NDE experiencers feel shame for the slightest gesture like rolling your eyes behind someone's back--the smallest uncharitable thought.

Secondly, some will try to explain it away by saying a natural event triggered a response in a brain similar to what people experience near death. Others might explain it away by stating religious pluralism is true, and God loves all his children. Many NDE experiencers say that because they experience God as a being of love and light.

This means that there will be great temptation to dismiss traditional religious understandings of God. And this is why I think the antichrist is waiting for the Warning to happen to show himself. People who refuse to accept this new understanding of God will be treated like enemies of peace and understanding, holding back humanity from achieving utopia.

These are some of the thoughts am having. Because before it didn't make sense how a chastisement could follow after the Warning.

Interesting.. I always wondered too, how even after the warning, people could still not repent. This could be why.

What if the illumination of conscience is the miracle of the sun, again, but a real celestial orb? The magnetic effects of such a body could explain abnormal jet streams, cataclysmic storms, climate change, fire falling from the sky, etc. And it could be the worst fear imaginable (to reference Fr Malachi’s statement). The extreme fear could also cause that NDE-like state and the ensuing illumination of conscience. The episode could be explained away by the ptb as a “hologram that who? created.” And then be dismissed by many.

I have often thought about the apparent randomness of the sun falling towards the earth at Fatima as not an accidental, random vision!

But the Sun is supposed to go dark in the middle of the day and a cross appear in the sky...

Many conspiracy theorists speak of a project blue beam, where the governments fake the second coming with holograms. But at any rate the Bible tells us that the second coming will be an event nobody can deny, and we are not to pursue false christs and those who tell is Christ is here or Christ is there.

I myself can see it’s possible that antichrist can fake such miracles. Anti- means before.

I'm not sure this could be the direct cause for the warning: Everyone is supposed to experience it at the very same time. I don't say this is not possible, but 6+billion people having a NDE-like experience at the exact same time? In my opinion it will be something more spiritual (NDE are considered psychic experiences, so it's physical rather than spiritual).

In my native language we have two different words:
Antechrist (where ante- means "before") which refers to the man who is to come before the second coming of Christ.
Antichrist (where anti- means "against") who can refers to the same man, but also to all of those who through History made a strong opposition to Christ or the Church (For example Nero).

I found it interesting to compare the languages here, I think the english word covers both meanings?

Anti doesn't mean before, ante means before. Anti means opposing.

I think it will be mostly spiritual.. God can make it outside of time even, so that everyone experiences it at the same time I guess.. it's not noon everywhere on the planet at the same time obviously so it will be very interesting...

I was thinking of Latin, but I may have meant ante-. Was in a list with ultima- and -penultima.

I have a question about how unbaptized people will react during the warning; if everything will be an action of the Holy Spirit (who descends on the believer through baptism) how will these people be reached by the supernatural experience of God?

God is capable of anything! He has no restrictions so He could cause even the unbaptized to have a revelation. God has no limits!

It's not hard for me to imagine many still not repenting after the Warning, or lapsing again soon after. No need even for it to be explained away by the government/media. It's in fallen human nature itself, and whose hearts God allows to be hardened. For instance, Pharoah saw the might of God over and over, and even the death of his own son, and he STILL changed his mind and hardened his heart against God. And the Israelites experienced the direct intervention of God over and over and still grumbled against Him, even making a golden calf to worship WHILE God was speaking to Moses up on the mountain in a physically obvious way.

I think the Warning will seal the fate of many. It will save those who are merely ignorant and those who are honestly trying to be good people, and will be very helpful to honest Christians who are still blind to many of their own sins...but to the truly selfish and hard of heart, it will only harden their hearts further against God. And it will be terrible for those who relapse into a life of sin because they will no longer be able to claim ignorance. Their sentence will be so much harsher. I think that's why the Warning is not just a tremendous grace but a terribly fearsome thing.

If Medjugorje is true, I believe this is why Mary said the time to repent is now, because by the time the secrets begin unfolding, it will be too late for many.

And that’s why we must pray for those we love who have hardened hearts. I am so scared for my children. Especially my eldest daughter. I can’t imagine not having them in heaven with me.

Definitely. The time to pray and sacrifice and save as many souls as we can is NOW. We must not rely on the events of the future to wake everyone up.

Since we need Forgiveness for our Sins, we must of course know what Sins we have..!

Why not Ask God to show thee thy Sins?

ALL It requires is Mature Faith, Full Openness & Honesty,
and the brave willingness to allow God the Gardener to prune thy withered branches

This following sounds so nice - but have you ever actually taken Jesus up on His offer?

"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

See? It's nothing whatsover to become childlike fearful over..

    Go for it!

    PEACE OF JESUS

    A personal testimony

I offer this not for sympathy or a pat on the head, but for your perusal and consideration:

Imagine having lost your faith at a young age, and living the next 15-20 years mired in sinful behaviour. Living alone in a big city, a very good job, a couple of friends. Despair takes over and you give up. A family member flies to the rescue, but once they arrive, you make the attempt to end it all. By a miracle, you survive, and are taken home.

In the hospital now, every single sin you ever committed is right in front of you, day and night. You beg someone to ask a priest to come. They ask. But the priest says no no, the doctors will take good care. The person who asked on your behalf is devastated, and tells you to hang on, it will be ok. One of the patients with you in the mental ward actually gives you a holy card, which you cling to with all you have. After a few years and some counselling which was not helpful you move on thinking there will be help, but it's an even worse situation, of abuse. Once again, miraculously, you escape. By the grace of God, you make your way back home again, go to Mass, but there's no confession because they "don't do that here". (General absolution is the "new way") So you go to "the service". Cry your eyes out. Phew, all is forgiven. BUT, then, all of a sudden, confession individually is now the rule again! (Rome cracks down, if you will) You go. and go. and go..

Finally, you learn what scruples are. ugh... Meanwhile, you've gotten married, have a good job, doing your best to learn your faith. Then lo and behold, euthanasia is to become the law of the land. The bishops where you live say people should be "accompanied" in their decision to end their life. Anger over this, and a myriad of other things, takes over and eventually you're back in the hospital again, because you never really learned how to defend yourself from the evil one's machinations.

Scruples are the worst. St. Joseph of Cupertino once told a young man to grab a great large broom to whack them away when they come. Only for reading about his life I would never had known this. He is a great help!

SO, all this being said, imagine when that illumination or warning comes....I realize it will be different for everyone, but after this small recollection of what I went thru personally, I can't help but weep for those who will be affected.

imho, people still here in this world and who are truly practicing their faith will necessarily have to be strong to help those who will need it. It's going to be a great great mercy, but, again in my own opinion, it's not going to be pretty.

I pray every day for our priests. I am a sinner, but am very grateful and cling to hope.

    Viva Cristo Rey!

Here is a great explanation of what we will be experiencing. This entire conversion story is incredible but if you want to skip some and listen to his illumination experience, start around the 22 minute mark.
