Agh a little spark an ember shinning in ulster...
This could well be st Patrick's vision..

"The Angel answered and told him to look to the north of the land, and that there he should see the Hand of the Most High. The Saint lifted up his eyes, and, behold, a little light arose in Uladh (Ulster), which had struggled long in the darkness, until at length the whole island was filled with the brightness of its glory, and Ireland returned to its first state of all-pervading fire."

I hope to make it to Derry on the 19th(y)

Praying for all of you John. God bless the stalwart Catholic men of Ireland! I have thought often of that prophecy St Patrick received. I pray it is beginning its fulfillment.

I believe God is calling laypeople to fill the gap rather than just the Clergy and Religious.

    So interesting

There's one day a year when pretty much everyone who lives in the "western world" celebrates all things Irish - St. Patrick's Day. Most everyone who has Irish ancestry, at least one day a year, looks back to their roots and heritage, their history because it's a "deep in the soul" attachment. The Faith, imho, is the common thread that binds all the Irish, where ever they may be. When the gov't in Ireland finally legalized what no one thought it ever would, it's like Ireland was the last country to fall. It was a great sorrow. But, perhaps the last to fall will be the first to rise up again. If one considers the passage below, Hibernia's people are now everywhere. Those small embers in the ashes or little flames hidden in obscurity are waiting for that great fire in the north to light up and encourage those hidden little embers to rise up and join the great fire of faith. I believe that "the beacons" are about to be lit, and the battle will begin in earnest. God bless that dear man who went to Medjugorje, and God bless all the men who go to Derry on Nov 19th ~ "By all that you hold dear on this good Earth, I bid you stand, Men of theWest!!!"

"And the man of God anxiously desired and earnestly prayed that he might be certified of the present and the future state of Hibernia, to the end that he might be assured of the faith, or of the value that his labors bore in the sight of God. Then the Lord heard the desire of his heart, and manifested the same unto him by an evident revelation; for while he was engaged in prayer, and the heart of his mind was opened, he beheld the whole island as it were a flaming fire ascending unto heaven; and he heard the angel of God saying unto him: "Such at this time is Hibernia in the sight of the Lord." And after a little space he beheld in all parts of the island even as mountains of fire stretching unto the skies. And again after a little space he beheld as it were candles burning, and after a while darkness intervened; and then he beheld fainter lights, and at length he beheld coals lying hidden here and there, as reduced unto ashes, yet still burning. And the angel added: "What thou seest here shown, such shall be the people of Hibernia." "

Powerful and uplifting post. Filled with truth. Perhaps it will be then that volume 2 can be written on How The Irish Saved Civilization.

My favourite story from that book was about the king that St. Patrick, accidentally, stabbed thru the foot with his crozier. The king didn't get angry because he thought it such a great honour to now have a wound similar to the Lord's. Such faith and charity!

Let's hope when Vol 2 is written there will be similar stories ~

I know Robert from the mens Rosary in Knock, he is a great guy, so full of life and faith. Don't know him that well, but glad met him a few times to know there are few around like him not too far from my area.

I mentioned to him in passing that I would like to make it to Derry on the 19th.

My life is is busy right now I will need a few prayers so I will have a chance to get there.

    It sounds great.

We'll represent all here on MOG...

And perhaps in return, all on MOG might say a little prayer for those that can attend on the 19th, that we represent well....
