I have just finished reading this book which has the subtitle: What Exorcists See and We Should Know. I have brought it to the attention of my pastor. It is not light reading, but the last two chapters, "Protecting Your Spiritual Life" and "Consorting With Evil" are very informative and practical; an example would be describing the vast array of spiritual weapons at our disposal. In addition, there is information on spousal blessing and the spiritual authority that parents possess. I think families like PurpleFlower's would especially benefit. The majority of information is derived from exorcists like Fr. Ripperger. The older edition which I purchased is cheaper and inserts the pages of the later edition, so you would save a few dollars. Safe Under Mary's Mantle!
Wasn't he Catholic? I thought he was. He sure sounds Catholic in this book. I heard him interviewed a while back on a Catholic site and that's why I bought the book.
Well, I did a google search on the title, Slaying Dragons, and found I can get it not only at the Catholic Company, but also at Christianbook.com. I've never found any books by Catholics on that web site. In addition, there were 3 video clips, one of the author, Daniel Kolenda, being interviewed on "lifetodaytv" on YouTube, and a link to his Facebook page where he is described as "Evangelist Daniel Kolenda". So, yeah, he's not Catholic. Not having read the book, I think he kept to the basics that all of the Christian denominations can agree on. Here's a clue, though: if he never, EVER, mentions the Rosary or calling on Mary and the Angels in terms of spiritual warfare, it's doubtful that this book is by a Catholic.
Thats the one I read!!! And saw him interviewed and he was definitely a Catholic. Thanks for clearing up the confusion.
That sounds like a great book! I would love to get it and read it. I am Sure it is very informative. My problem is that I am too afraid and too weak. I am a coward and have a very active imagination. I become hyper aware of things going on around me if I read a book about the devil or exorcisms.
Thank you for sharing about this book. I don't have it but found this link where several topics in the book are discussed, including the one about spiritual authority of the father here: https://www.theslayingdragonsbook.com/2020/01/the-role-of-father-according-to.html
I just finished watching the podcast with Fr Lampert on Pints with Aquinas. It was linked here but I can’t find the thread to thank the person. Fr Vincent Lampert is an exorcist in the diocese of Indianapolis. He exudes holiness and watching the interview was like having a spiritual bath. I normally don’t watch such long videos but this was incredible. I watched until 2 am, went to bed and finished it today.
Hi Ananchal, I like your posts, you seem to be a very holy person. This book, I suppose, focuses on prayer, blessed salt, holy water, etc. Nothing to worry about, this can only make us stronger and more protected.
Yep, I think the confusion comes from the fact that there are two books with the same title. The other author is Daniel Kolenda. The book recommended by you in this thread is the one written by Charles Fraune, indeed very much a Catholic. I am very grateful to you and this whole forum for this blessed tip in extremely difficult times, and am going to act on it by ordering a copy today.
Yep, I noticed similar occurrences. I recommend searching with your search engine by entering book title and author.
Yes, two different authors. The one by Charles Fraune Catholic with aNihil Obstat. Slaying Dragons [PDF] Download Full – PDF Read Book Page
Thanks for the laugh but not even close lol I once heard that there are 7 levels of heaven, 7 levels of hell and 7 levels of purgatory. I alway joke I’m hanging onto that last level in purgatory by my fingernails
