We are living through a great crisis of civilization and great disorientation in the church and the temptation to doubt and despair is all too real - I have believed in Garabandal since my early twenties and I am now 60 years old so I have been waiting a long time for the prophesied events - I did not expect to get to 2024 and the events still to happen. But God's timing is all too different from our timing - we have quite a myopic sense of time whilst we live on earth - What wonderful example we have in the Old Testament in Simeon and Anna who waited patiently for the coming of the Lord - Simeon was in the twilight of his life but had been promised that he would not see death before the coming of the Messiah. He remained faithful to God and held the Christ-Child in his arms and thus he has been called the God-receiver. Anna the prophetess likewise was faithful to God we are told 'she was of a great age, having been widowed after a seven-year marriage and was now eighty-four. She never left the Temple, but worshiped with fasting and prayer night and day'. She too received the Christ-child in her arms. Simeon took the baby in his arms and blessed God with these words: “Now, Master, you are dismissing your servant in peace, just as you said. These eyes of mine have seen your salvation, which you made ready in the presence of all peoples: a light for revelation to the nations, and glory for your people Israel.” Both Simeon and Anna remained faithful into their old age - let us do likewise remaining faithful to praying our daily Rosary.
Beautiful admonition and reminder. Thank you! We just celebrated St. Patrick who said: I pray to God to give me perseverance and to deign that I be a faithful witness to Him to the end of my life for my God.
To encourage us, consider that in corrupt Canada, there is a new convent being built by the Queenship of Mary community, near the country’s capital, Ottawa. It is growing in vocations, mostly young women. It is dedicated to prayer for priests, and renewing devotion to Our Lady of the Cape. The foundress, Mother Mary Bernadette, was a secular 47 year old business woman when she received the call to return to Christ, and later, to begin the order. She received miraculous healings at Lourdes. The order promotes the Louis de Montfort 33 days of Consecration to Jesus through Mary. Their patrons are St. Therese of Lisieux and St. Therese of Avila. https://www.queenshipofmary.ca/about
The people I see at Mass each day cheer me up a lot. Good devout Catholic people doing their best. Some of them, I suspect very Holy indeed. My hat goes off to anyone getting to Daily Mass everyday and saying the rosary is wonderful I think. There is so much against it. My concern for them would be when the filth from Rome filters down to them they will be in big, big trouble. I think most people have do idea what is going on. Also of course my local Traditional Church may very well be closed down which would be horrible. It is the priests and Bishops who more concern me. Padre Pio's words, 'Pray, hope and don't worry', are a great source of consolation. After all what else can we do? Just pray, hope and trust.
Thank you Garabandal. I think the forum needed these words at this time. We must remember, we await! Watching and praying. For this valley of tears is not our home, we are on a pilgrimage to our real eternal home. Come Lord Jesus.
