The month, for me seems to me full of jump right out at you saints which I love and know quite a bit baout and have a deep devotion ot like St Luke.

Another reason is that for some cause Heaven seems to have tapped October and particulary oct 13th as very ,very special because of Fatima, arguably the great Marian set of apparitions of all time.

More importantly, perhaps, this day seems set aside by God for some very ,very important event in the life of the Church and the world in the future.

    https://www.ewtn.com/fatima/sixth-apparition-of-our-lady.asp

During the night of 12-13 October it had rained throughout, soaking the ground and the pilgrims who make their way to Fátima from all directions by the thousands. By foot, by cart and even by car they came, entering the bowl of the Cova from the Fátima-Leiria road, which today still passes in front of the large square of the Basilica. From there they made their way down the gently slope to the place where a trestle had been erected over the little holm oak of the apparitions. Today on the site is the modern glass and steel Capelhina (little chapel), enclosing the first chapel built there and the statue of Our Lady of the Rosary of Fátima where the holm oak had stood.

As for the children, they made their way to the Cova amid the adulation and skepticism which had followed them since May. When they arrived they found critics who questioned their veracity and the punctuality of the Lady, who had promised to arrive at noon. It was well passed noon by the official time of the country. However, when the sun arrived at its zenith the Lady appeared as she had said she would.

"What do you want of me?"

I want a chapel built here in my honor. I want you to continue saying the Rosary every day. The war will end soon, and the soldiers will return to their homes.

    "Yes. Yes."

"Will you tell me your name?"

I am the Lady of the Rosary.

"I have many petitions from many people. Will you grant them?"

Some I shall grant, and others I must deny. People must amend their lives and ask pardon for their sins. They must not offend our Lord any more, for He is already too much offended!

"And is that all you have to ask?"

    There is nothing more.

As the Lady of the Rosary rises toward the east she turns the palms of her hands toward the dark sky. While the rain had stopped, dark clouds continued to obscure the sun, which suddenly bursts through them and is seen to be a soft spinning disk of silver.

    "Look at the sun!"

From this point two distinct apparitions were seen, that of the phenomenon of the sun seen by the 70,000 or so spectators and that beheld by the children alone. Lucia describes the latter in her memoirs.

After our Lady had disappeared into the immense distance of the firmament, we beheld St. Joseph with the Child Jesus and Our Lady robed in white with a blue mantle, beside the sun. St. Joseph and the Child Jesus seemed to bless the world, for they traced the Sign of the Cross with their hands. When, a little later, this apparition disappeared, I saw Our Lord and Our lady; it seemed to me to that it was Our Lady of Sorrows (Dolors). Our Lord appeared to bless the world in the same manner as St. Joseph had done. This apparition also vanished, and I saw Our Lady once more, this time resembling Our Lady of Carmel. [Only Lucia would see the later, presaging her entrance into Carmel some years later.]

This would be the last of the apparitions of Fátima for Jacinta and Francisco. However, for Lucia Our Lady would return a seventh time, in 1920, as she had promised the previous May. At that time Lucia would be praying in the Cova before leaving Fátima for a girls boarding school. The Lady would come to urge her to dedicate herself wholly to God.

As the children viewed the various apparitions of Jesus, Mary and Joseph the crowd witnessed a different prodigy, the now famous miracle of the sun.

This October is not just any old October but the last year in the count down to October 13th 2017 , the 100th anniversary of the Sun Dancing at Fatima. I and many pthers beleive it is the countdown to the fulfliment of Faima and of huge portentuous events for the Church and al lof mankind. As such it is no accident that the Holy Father is planing a visit to Fatima, something I consider to be a very, very good sign indeed.

Pope 'confirmed May visit to Fátima shrine for centenary' - bishop
    by TPN/ Lusa, in News · 02-10-2016 08:37:00 · 0 Comments
The auxiliary bishop of Lisbon, Nuno Brás, said on Thursday that Pope Francis had confirmed to him that he will travel to Portugal in May next year but only to visit Fátima for the centenary of what pilgrims believe was the first of a series of apparitions of the Virgin Mary there.

In comments to the Catholic news agency Ecclesia, Brás said that the confirmation came on Sunday, when he greeted the pontiff at the end of the service in the Vatican.

"I shall go, but to Fátima" was the pope's response, according to the bishop, to his comment that the Portuguese faithful "were expecting him".

Given the pontiff's words, Brás said, the visit to Fátima can be seen as certain unless something unforeseen comes up to prevent it.

According to Ecclesia, aside from the fact of his visiting Fátima, the programme remains open as to where he would arrive, the route he would takes to Cova da Iria - the part of Fátima where the shrine is located - and how many days he would be in the country.

The agency recalls that on 7 September last year, at a meeting with Portugal's bishops, the pope expressed a "deep wish" to visit Fátima.

On 17 March, Portugal's president, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, on a visit to the Vatican that was his first official trip abroad after taking office, formally invited Pope Francis to visit Portugal.

If he does come, Francis will be the fourth pope to visit Portugal, after Paul VI in 1967, John Paulo II in 1982, 1991 and 2000) and Benedict XVI in 2010.

Fr Malachi Martin said a wise thing about the world, he said that, 'Grace is draining from the world'. Another way of putting it is that Fiath is dying like some great old tree. This was true at the time of Fatima and is a billion times more true today and so Gpd must once again intervene in the world but this time on a world wide scale.

But we have our very own Fatimas. Every day at lunchtime I go over to the hsopital for midday mass and see the Faithful there. Seeing their Faith inspires me. These people give up their lunchtimes every day to be with Christ and my heart takes of liek a rocket ship on seeing them. :)

But I have to say in the wider world Faith is dying on its feel ,we so need a kick start like Fatima.

Here are some historic things tha toccured in October..a clue to Fatima?

    http://www.historyplace.com/specials/calendar/october.htm

October 1, 1938 - Hitler's troops occupied the Sudetenland portion of Czechoslovakia. In an effort to avoid war, the leaders of Britain and France had agreed to cede the German-speaking area to Hitler, who later broke the agreement and occupied all of Czechoslovakia.

October 1, 1949 - The People's Republic of China was founded with Mao Zedong as Chairman.

October 3, 1863 - President Abraham Lincoln issued a proclamation designating the last Thursday in November as Thanksgiving Day.

October 3, 1990 - After 45 years of Cold War division, East and West Germany were reunited as the Federal Republic of Germany.

October 6, 1973 - The Yom Kippur War started as Egypt and Syria launched attacks on Israeli positions on the East Bank of the Suez and the Golan Heights.

October 11, 1962 - The Second Vatican Council was opened in St. Peter's Basilica in Rome by Pope John XXIII. Sessions were held in four successive autumns from 1962-65. Vatican II resulted in sweeping changes to the Catholic Church including the use of English and local native languages in the Mass instead of Latin, and openness and cooperation with other religions and denominations.

October 13, 1792 - The cornerstone of the White House was laid by George Washington. The building, located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, is three stories tall with over 100 rooms, and was designed by James Hoban. In November of 1800, President John Adams and his family moved in. The building was first known as the "Presidential Palace," but acquired the name "White House" about 10 years after its completion. It was burned by British troops in 1814, then reconstructed, refurbished and reoccupied in 1817.

October 13, 1990 - The first Russian Orthodox service in over 70 years was held in St. Basil's Cathedral, next to the Kremlin, in Red Square, Moscow.

October 16, 1978 - Cardinal Karol Wojtyla of Poland was elected Pope. He was the first non-Italian Pope chosen in 456 years and took the name John Paul II.

October 28, 1886 - The Statue of Liberty was dedicated on Bedloe's Island in New York Harbor. The statue was a gift from the people of France commemorating the French-American alliance during the American Revolutionary War. Designed by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi, the entire structure stands 300 feet (92.9 meters) tall. The pedestal contains the words: "Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, the wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"

October 28, 1958 - Cardinal Angelo Giuseppe Roncalli, Patriarch of Venice, was elected Pope, taking the title John XXIII. Best known for undertaking the 21st Ecumenical Council (Vatican II).

October 28, 1962 - The Cuban Missile Crisis ended with the announcement by Soviet Russia's leader Nikita Khrushchev that his Soviet government was halting construction of missile bases in Cuba and would remove the offensive missiles. President Kennedy immediately accepted the offer then lifted the U.S. naval blockade of Cuba.

October 31, 1517 - Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses to the door of Wittenberg's palace church, denouncing the selling of papal indulgences and questioning various ecclesiastical practices. This marked the beginning of the Protestant Reformation in Germany.

Tomorrow is the Feast Day of St Faustina. Since she was given a vision of what sounds like the Warning of Garabandal and the illumination secret of Medjugorje, lets all pray to her tomorrow to enlighten us and help us through these times we are living in.
"Before I come as the just judge, I am coming first as the King of Mercy. Before the day of justice arrives, there will be given to people a sign in the heavens of this sort: "All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the cross will be seen in the sky, and from the openings where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will take place shortly before the last day. " - Saint Faustina, AD 1937

St. Faustina's message resounds another alleged message on the Warning from Jennifer: Words from Jesus:
"My child, you are witnessing a vision of the warning to come." The sky is dark and it seems as though it is night but my heart tells me it is sometime in the afternoon. I see the sky opening up and I can hear long, drawn out claps of thunder. When I look up I see Jesus bleeding on the cross and people are falling to their knees. Jesus then tells me,"They will see their soul as I see it."I can see the wounds so clearly on Jesus and Jesus then says,"They will see each wound they have added to My Most Sacred Heart." To the left I see the Blessed Mother weeping and then Jesus speaks to me again and says, “Prepare, prepare now for the time is soon approaching. My child, pray for the many souls who will perish because of their selfish and sinful ways."

As I look up I see the drops of blood falling from Jesus and hitting the earth. I see millions of people from nations from all lands. Many seemed confused as they were looking up toward the sky. Jesus says, "They are in search of light for it should not be a time of darkness, yet it is the darkness of sin that covers this earth and the only light will be that of which I come with for mankind does not realize the awakening that is about to be bestowed upon him. This will be the greatest purification since the beginning of creation." I see people crying and some with horrifying screams when they see Jesus bleeding on the cross. Jesus says,
“It is not the sight of My wounds that causes their suffering; it is the depth of the soul knowing that he has placed them there. It is not the sight of My wounds bleeding that causes their suffering; it is knowing that man’s rejection of Me has caused My wounds to bleed.” “My child, so many will perish for their souls have become so far from Me yet it is I, Jesus, that will show the great depth of My mercy." "My child you see that the earth has been trembling for as this hour of purification of enlightenment draws near, the fury of the lion will be prowling amongst My people. The temptation will multiply for he seeks his many victims. It will be the greatest spiritual battle man has ever endured . My child, tell My people that today I am asking that they take heed to My words for the sign in the east is about to rise.

Tell My people that this is the hour for I am Jesus and all will be done according to My will." As I look up I continue to see Jesus bleeding on the cross. I continue to see the Blessed Mother weeping to the left. The cross is bright white and illuminated in the sky, it looks suspended. As the sky is opening up I see a bright light come down on the cross and in this light I see the resurrected Jesus appear in white look up toward heaven raising His hands, He then looks down at the earth and makes the sign of the cross blessing His people.

For me October, since it is the month of angels and the Most Holy Rosary is a very mystical month. A month were the doors of heaven open a little for a while. A kind of Christmas for those who like to pray if you like:)

Michael Brown had a great article on the need for the mystical, for the supernatural in Spirit Daily there:

    http://spiritdaily.org/blog/news/where-the-faith-grows

I had a dream last night a teaching dream which has me still thinking. I dreamt I was in a Relgious House a vry dark and gloomy place , full of priests. I dreamt I was staying there but felt everyone was very hostile to me, but not outright hostile. It is the uneasy feeling you get when you suspect everyone is talking about you but no one is coming out saying anything outright. All I knew was I felt it a very cold unwelcoming place and I wanted out as quick as I could.

Anyway I was brought down to a large room in which priests were assembled on all side at tables. Not one of them was my friend and I felt considerbale hostility towards me. One of the priests stood up and started to denounce me. He held a letter against me as evidence. . It was from an old lady who claimed to have experienced a miralce and he accused me of being involved in it. The priests al turned their backs on me and wlaked out in disgust. So he forgot to take the letter with him, I saw it was in a childish untutoured hand and it did indeed claim to have experienced a miracle. As I read it I thought to myself, 'Well why not? Why should she not have experienced this?..all things are possible with God!'

Then I woke up to a great feeling of darkness and rejection.

But it has always seemed to me that if there really is a God why shoudl He not do as He chooses?

I think OCtober is the great teacher of this, as are the holy angels.

The Holy Roasry is such an entrance door to miracles and the mystical and the supernatural .

October then is a month that dances with the light of heaven. The month of miracles. We just need the eyes to see them.
