Well I see President Trump, in wishing the Irish a Happy St Padraig's Day has described them as, 'Confident , fierce and true'. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world...ay-trump-says-irish-confident-fierce-and-true I'm sorry I can't agree because having just introduced the murder of unborn children and the most free and decadent sexual perversion laws on the entire planet the word, total Judas more comes to mind. I do indeed fell fierce ; but it is more to plant an ax (though a surgical ax for fear of contamination) in our entire island's skull. I do not feel the least bit sentimental. I feel totally ashamed to be Irish. I feel disgraced and ashamed. Yuk. But anyway to cheer me up. I just got a Happy St Padraig's Day card all the way from another island New Zealand, right on the button, the day before the big day from Josie and Eileen. How strange I was more touched by Luke's death than I was by my brother's and sisters, my own mother and father even. Why? Well because he was so young and had such a large young family. Such a good Catholic family. He seemed such a cause worth fighting for. At an early stage in his illness I offered up myself to take his place. But Our Lady said , 'No'. How strange to receive this card after the attack on the Mosque just yesterday. Actually it reminds me of specific message of Luke in the past concerning the future of which he wished to know more regarding New Zealand. . The Book of the Apocalypse indicates that at the End of Times Wars of Religion will arise. Anyway . Disgusted as I am with the Irish and all things Irish , you Judas lot Happy St Padraig's Day anyway.
Sigh. I suppose there is a lot of good things to say about the Irish and their Faith anyway. I just don't feel like saying them. They have given Jesus a big Judas kiss and will pay the price. The rain is coming and it won't stop. Sigh. But I am away for my St Padraig's Day drink. But , no, I am not proud to be Irish I am totally ashamed. My God forgive us for our Betrayal. The rain is coming and it just won't stop. Water on water on water. The wave will come that our cliffs won't block. That's what you get for stabbing God right in the back.
I have no enthusiasm today for the coming feast tomorrow either except to beg St Patrick to intercede for all Irish people on the isle itself or from the diaspora to restore our inheritance that we sold for a mess of pottage.*in America some of our worst politicians (Father Heilman's list) are of Irish descent. I too was deeply moved by Luke's death and by his beautiful family. It touched me very deeply indeed.. Well perhaps God will have mercy on us all for the sake of the righteous remnant. I pray and hope. There is no doubt we are all caught up in a pitched battle between good and evil. At my holy hour this morning I opened the scriptures to psalm 74. Powerful words about fallen nations begging God to relent and save us. Very apt I thought.
Forgot to add "A blessed St Patrick's Day to all on the forum. May you be in heaven an hour before the devil knows you're dead. (As we used to say in my family.)
Yes I can't help noticing so many Apostates all over the world have pure Irish names. Such a deep, deep shame ; such a horrible disgrace. I would not have minded so much but when you look at at the huge blessings and graces that God has granted the Irish people and Nation. Then to turn Judas and stab the Good God in the back in this way. Sigh. At least it is is not Frankie O' Berglio in charge of all this sell out to hell stuff. An Irish Pope opening the doors to hell's take over bid. But I admit I am thoroughly, thoroughly ashamed to be Irish. My only wish is that I might die for the Church to cleanse it at least a little of her shame. Much, much of our blood must be shed to clean us of our shame.
I too am a Irish American....and I too am ashamed. I have symbols of my Irish heritage throughout my home. I’m tempted to remove them all. My celtic cross my stay...maybe? I wanted to visit Ireland as well, but not now. It makes me incredibly sad. I used to love my heritage. Poor St. Patrick....they’ve let the snakes back onto the once Catholic island....
Padraig, you are shining example to the world what a really good Irish Catholic man should be! You should feel no shame...it’s sure not on you! Happy St. Patrick’s Day to our good Irish example of a really good catholic! Blessings!
They have, it is an utter disgrace. Shame, shame, shame. Utter disgrace. But so many Irish saints in heaven !! I am sure the worm will turn!!! The Irish are never beat. We have been knocked out before and gotten back on our feet! Oh Lord grant thy Irish people victory!! We don't deserve it but put us back in the fight! I don;t know why but I feel full of fighting joy! We will win! We will be back!!
I just listened to Fr. Shannon Collins on sensus fidellium in a talk called "The Antichrist: the unust usurper" It is very heart lifting--he refers to the end to the restoration to come--before the actual end of things with anitchrist. He says St. Patrick had a vision of Ireland--an angel showed him the emerald isle through the centuries. For a long time it was afire with the love of Christ and then little by little the fires went out until is was almost totally dark. St Patrick begged the angel to tell him that Ireland would return to the faith and the angel showed him our time and small flickering light way up in the north!! "A place that has suffered much" and then the fire began to grow and grow. Fr. Collins said "The Restoration!"
This is for all the good Irish Catholics who are faithful to our church. Keep the faith....God wins! Ireland will return to the fold! The world will!
I feel much the same Padraig. I'm sick to the teeth of it. St. Patrick brought Christianity to Ireland and it will be almost impossible to get into a city centre church on his feast day because of the stupid commercial parade held to celebrate what he wasn't: Irish.
The highlighted reminded me, Padraig, of my great-grandfather, Edward O'Loughlin. He ventured to this wonderful land in 1870 and settled in Philadelphia. In 1887, the Ancient Order of Hibernians coordinated with the city officials to celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a grand parade, something that had not been done in a number of years. Local chapters of the AOH were enlisted to march in the parade; all complied but one, the 19th. Edward was asked to write a defense of their insubordination which he submitted on the following April 26th. He was rather verbose , but I'll include a wee bit of what he wrote with only pen and paper: ...In all the years that have passed away since the last parade in this city, there is no year in which Ireland's sufferings were as great as in the present one. And now Sir, if you look at it in this way, with an unprejudiced mind, it will appear to you nothing short of a mockery for men to rejoice and parade, while their poor brothers in Ireland are undergoing the most bitter persecution that English malice can devise for their punishment...I would ask what did the parade do? Did it relieve or console the affliction of their kith and kin in Ireland, or did it tell England to cease her persecution of Ireland? No Sir, it has done neither one nor the other; it sent no remonstrance to England, and it sent no money to relieve Ireland. But we of No. 19 have done both; we have published to the world our protest against English tyranny, and we have sent money to relieve Irish necessity. It cannot be shown that the parade has done the AOH any good; I hope it has done it no harm... I think you and Edward would have gotten along just fine...you both exhibit a lot of gumption, or as you put it now and then: "Let's kick some ass."And so there will always be those who lose sight of what really matters, many though they be . May we, rather, on both sides of the pond and all the way to New Zealand remain true to the Two Hearts! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
Your great grandfather really had his eye on the ball , Terry. He sounded like a wonderful guy. It is a reminder for us to keep our eye on the ball too. Not to be sidelined, not to have the wool pulled over our eyes but to keep the Faith. TO stay true to Jesus and His Bride the Church. If we don;t keep the Faith everything else is just so much nonsense. Our ancestors died for the Faith in their thousands. They gave their blood. They were poor and despised. But they stayed true. What a pity if we become prosperous and acclaimed and toss our Faith into the trash can as no longer needed, or just a front for great evils within. What does it profit Ireland and the Irish if they gain the whole world and loose their very soul? But this is what is happening. Slemish Mountain were St Padraig spent his youth caring for pigs is not far from my home. I hope to climb up the hill today. Legend tells us that St Padraig asked God that if Ireland was ever to start to turn from God that He would wash it away in water. I am afraid we are very close to this. There is one part of Irish history long forgotten by many but which I recall today. That is that during the Irish Famine Native American Indians sent considerable aid to Ireland though they were very poor themselves. That is the way of things; that the poorest always help the very poorest.
I am afraid Dolours, that St Padriag's Day has become a time of the Irish patting each other on the back. I was never very comfortable with the back patting buisness. We have only to look at the Holy Family, Jesus Mary and Joseph. If ever people had the right to pat each other on the back it was this three. Yet they never did. Quite the opposite they stayed hidden. But at least in the past when the chest thumping started there might have been some justification; some slight justification. This year round we should be giving ourselves the biggest kick up the ass a People and Nation ever got. For as Scripture tells us to those to whom much has been given , much will be expected. The Irish have been buried in huge graces which they have just spat back in the face of God. Luke 12:48 But he that knew not and committed things worthy of stripes, shall be beaten with few stripes. For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall much be required; and to whom men have committed much, of him they will ask the more. Ireland is worthy of many stripes. The biggest kick up the ass in its entire history. I have to say it is very, very well deserved. I am totally out of patience and sympathy with the entire island. On the other hand it will be a huge cleansing. After the rains and the wave a New Ireland will be born. But the stripes come first and they are coming Big Time. http://motheofgod.com/threads/st-patrick-and-the-end-time-flood-of-ireland.4019/ riday, 14 October 2011 St. Patrick and the End-Time Flood of Ireland A well-known prophecy of a nation being destroyed by tidal waves at the end-time can be found in one of the earliest biographies of St. Patrick: These are the three prayers of Patrick, as they were delivered to us by the Hibernians, entreating that all should be received on the day of judgment, if we should repent even in the last days of our life. That he should not be shut up in hell. That barbarian nations should never have the rule over us. That no one shall conquer us, that is the Scots, before seven years previous to the day of judgment, because seven years before the judgment we shall be destroyed in the sea, this is the third. This prophecy can be traced back to original documents dating from the 7th century (Tirechan's untitled memoirs of St. Patrick), which are based on the The Book of Ultan - an earlier now lost source written by a disciple of Patrick himself (the full text of Tierchan's work can be found onlinehere). A reader has noted that the prayer that "no barbarian nations" should ever have rule over Ireland, has so far proved true in the fact that it has only ever been conquered by Christian nations. We should also note that the word "Scots" here refers to the Irish people rather than the present sense of the term. The Irish were referred to as Scoti in Latin, and Irish rule over Northern Britain during the Dark Ages gradually saw the term being transferred to that country. This prediction of the end-time flood of Ireland is often associated with another prophecy attributed to St. Colmcille (who is also known by his Latin name St. Columba). I concede a favour to them without exception, and St Patrick also did concede the same; that seven years before the last day, the sea shall submerge Eirin by one inundation The above prophecy is believed to be taken from a 9th century document titled Colum Cille cecinit, but so far the earliest source it can be traced back to is O'Kearney, N. The Prophecies of Ss. Columbkille, Maeltamlacht, Ultan, Seadhna, Coireall, Bearcan, Malachy, &tc (Dublin: John O’Daly, 1856) – a book which is known to contain many spurious prophecies formulated as rhetoric for the 1798 Irish rebellion. It is possible that this quatrain is based on an earlier source or tradition, such as the Leabhar Breac, but currently its origins remains untraceable. It is unlikely that the original prophecy was made by St. Colmcille, but instead may have developed from the earlier, almost certainly authentic literature concerning the life of St. Patrick. The prophecy of Ireland being destroyed by end-time floods is intimately related to the other material in Public and private revelation which tells of an eschatological inundation, and seems to be inextricably linked to the threat posed by the collapse of the volcano Cumbre Vieja into the Atlantic ocean (see the earlier post Mega-tsunami, where I show how this event is connected with the "great mounatin, burning with fire" being thrown into the sea in Rev 8:8, as well as several other biblical passages). As we can see from the diagram below, Ireland is one of the countries that would be most affected be a mega-tsunami generated by the collapse of the volcano Cumbre Vieja in the Canary Islands. This would lead us to ask why Ireland seems to be the sole focus of the prophecy of St. Patrick? Why would when there are so many other countries in even greater risk from this catastrophe. One explanation may be found in the fact that this prediction was made almost one thousand years before the discovery of America by the Europeans. The other countries which will be affected by this disaster would simply have been unknown to the saint. According to Christian prophetic tradition, the tribulation period at the end-time (which includes the reign of the Antichrist) will last for a total of seven years. The fact that the prophecy of St. Patrick foretells that Ireland would be destroyed by the sea seven years before the last day in order to spare the Irish from the reign of the Antichrist therefore suggests that the rule of this end-time tyrant will only take place after the catastrophic flooding caused by the collapse of the volcano Cumbre Vieja into the sea. http://unveilingtheapocalypse.blogspot.com/2011/10/st-patrick-and-end-time-flood-of.html See also the related posts: Mega-tsunami The Fall of Babylon The Casting Down of Mountains Mega-tsunami Update: Recent seismic activity in the Canary Islands - Cause for Alarm? Thanks, I love St Padraig's humility. At one time they considered not making him a Bishop because he was so ill educated. He reminds us that learning is not everything.
