Indeed. The Pope is not perfect. That's why we have a magisterium that includes Sacred Tradition and Sacred Scripture.

    St. Peter repented.

But don't you think Peter's sin was committed out of fear and perhaps some ignorance? Where as those on this forum seem to be stating that Pope Francis is not acting out of fear or ignorance, he is setting his own agenda instead.

When all is chaos & confusion around us and we don't know in whom to trust ... The Divine Mercy Image should "speak" to us...... The Lord commissioned that image through St Faustina for a reason. Along with the message that the Time of Mercy was limited .... that was 80 years ago!!!

HeartLight Daily Verse - 28 March

    1 Timothy 2:5-6
There is one God and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all men.

    Thoughts on today's verse:
We do not need another person, no matter how mighty, pious, or special, to intercede for us before God. As his children, we can go freely, knowing that God himself has provided the perfect mediator between us and himself. That mediator alone is head of the church and chief priest before God for us. His name is Christ Jesus, our Lord.

    Prayer:
O God, you are my God, and I praise you for making yourself so available. I know that in my power, I have no right to approach you. Yet in your grace you not only provided a ransom for my sin but a mediator for my approach to you. Jesus, I thank you as well, for paying the price and staying at the Father's side to intercede and speak for me! Thank you for making this prayer known to the Father. Amen. But hey, there's no problem with giving a platform in the Vatican to population control advocates like John Bongaarts and Paul Erhlich (a notorious anti-Catholic pro-abortionist) under the guise of a Pontifical workshop about bioextinction.

"If any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous."
Exactly what you had in your message, Crew Dog.
I used to hear that every Sunday from an Episcopalian minister before I became Catholic. That would be in the 50's and early 60's, when men of the cloth used to use the word SIN.
    Thank you, Crew Dog.

Are you saying that the 'population control advocates' scandal was Pope Francis' way of dialogue? Really?!

Cardinal Burke: Vatican hosting pro-abort population control activist was ‘simply a scandal’
SPRINGFIELD, Virginia, March 27, 2017 (LifeSiteNews) – Cardinal Raymond Burke said it's "simply a scandal" that pro-abortion and pro-contraception population control activist Paul Ehrlich was given a platform at a recent Vatican conference.

Burke was speaking on Friday to a standing room only crowd at St. Raymond of Peñafort Catholic Church as part of its distinguished speaker series. He fielded questions at the end of his talk.

He was asked about how "Paul Ehrlich, a great defender of abortion and a sworn enemy of the Church, was recently given a platform at a Vatican conference." Ehrlich's speech has caused confusion and has Catholics wondering what's going on in the Vatican, the questioner said.

"It’s simply a scandal," said Burke. "I’m scandalized by it and I don’t see how any good Catholic wouldn’t be scandalized by that. I don’t understand it."

He continued, "These days especially, when fundamental truths about human life and the family are getting called into question in our society in most egregious ways, and I think especially our children and young people are being subjected to this…to let such people who have no grounding whatsoever in the truth of the faith [speak at the Vatican] – it just takes my breath away."

Ehrlich has compared human babies to garbage, said every sexually active woman needs "free access" to abortion and contraception, and said the Catholic Church's moral teachings are "just as unethical" as a "terrorist act." He has defended mass forced sterilization and even forced abortion.

Ehrlich, along with John Bongaarts of the Population Council, spoke at the Biological Extinction Conference last month despite outcry from pro-life activists. The conference was sponsored by the Pontifical Academy of the Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences.

Bongaarts told the Vatican conference attendees there is an "unmet need for contraception and family planning" and reducing birth rates would help the environment. Ehrlich praised Pope Francis for his environmentalism. Ehrlich later criticized LifeSite and "right wing Catholic websites" for opposing his invitation.

It was at this same conference that Bishop Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo, the Chancellor of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences, said "we don't know exactly" what the Church teaches about procreation. "Education" will help women have one or two children instead of seven, Sorondo said.

Burke exhorted the faithful to remain true to the teachings of the Church despite rampant confusion. He reminded them of an excellent resource of clarity, the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Burke also addressed transgenderism, Catholic history, the sacred liturgy, and why so many young people are drawn to the Traditional Latin Mass.

Plain and simple, if Pope Francis is leading us to believe that he has not stated new teaching with A.L. , why has he not reprimanded the Maltese Bishops for their outspoken directives in regards to communion for the remarried. Perhaps he (P.F.) is saying that is not what A.L. is saying, but Maltese Bishops are clearly saying it is. Are we not to correct our brothers when they are in error? I am all for love the man hate the sin, but you can't sweep this under the rug and pretend it was not said by these bishops.

You don't , 'dialogue', or, 'accompany', evil.

    You fight it.

With all your strength and heart and soul.

You certainly don't invite it into the Vatican to make speeches.

Who are these 'they' who made Peter Pope? Peter was made Pope by Jesus (...and upon this Rock, I will build my Church). And this was not done in spite of (i.e. after) Peter's denial but before it occurred.

You guys have your own threads...why do you try to destroy all of them. I try not to even argue with you guys because most of it is things that MIGHT happen. That type of debate is futile.

We can't even enjoy some words of wisdom without the pitchforks coming out.

Its a thread on Pope Francis quotes.
You have to deal with all his quotes then.
Or do you just like the Catholic ones?
