One of these two I think has really great, really inspirational writing. I read it and I think, well, he certainly hit the nail on the head...and then, there's the other one and it's almost not easy to know which is which. One of the two wrote great prayers. That must be Newman.
So, Newman was only canonized in 2019?

There is already so much to study, really.

I love both of these saints. The quote from St John Newman is a favorite of mine. It has gotten me through some dark times on my journey. He is a convert from Anglicanism. Yes, he was only recently canonized.
St. John Neumann was a Redemptorist priest from Europe who came to the US. He walked and walked in wilderness to establish churches. I go to Mass in a Redemptorist mission parish In Annapolis and I feel his watchful presence when I go by his statue.

St. John Henry Newman is dear to my heart. He wrote my favorite quote of all time, that I have shared with many who are suffering one thing or another. I'll have to take a pic of it (in a book I have) and share it when I get a moment. It's long enough that I don't have it memorized.

Is it the quote at the beginning of this thread? I love it, too,

No, it's a quote about suffering that I read in one of my books in my early twenties. I pull it out from time to time to reread it.
