St. Patrick and the End-Time Flood of Ireland

A well-known prophecy of a nation being destroyed by tidal waves at the end-time can be found in one of the earliest biographies of St. Patrick:

These are the three prayers of Patrick, as they were delivered to us by the Hibernians, entreating that all should be received on the day of judgment, if we should repent even in the last days of our life.
That he should not be shut up in hell. That barbarian nations should never have the rule over us. That no one shall conquer us, that is the Scots, before seven years previous to the day of judgment, because seven years before the judgment we shall be destroyed in the sea, this is the third.
This prophecy can be traced back to original documents dating from the 7th century (Tirechan's untitled memoirs of St. Patrick), which are based on the The Book of Ultan - an earlier now lost source written by a disciple of Patrick himself (the full text of Tierchan's work can be found onlinehere). A reader has noted that the prayer that "no barbarian nations" should ever have rule over Ireland, has so far proved true in the fact that it has only ever been conquered by Christian nations. We should also note that the word "Scots" here refers to the Irish people rather than the present sense of the term. The Irish were referred to as Scoti in Latin, and Irish rule over Northern Britain during the Dark Ages gradually saw the term being transferred to that country.
This prediction of the end-time flood of Ireland is often associated with another prophecy attributed to St. Colmcille (who is also known by his Latin name St. Columba).
I concede a favour to them without exception,
    and St Patrick also did concede the same;
that seven years before the last day,
the sea shall submerge Eirin by one inundation
The above prophecy is believed to be taken from a 9th century document titled Colum Cille cecinit, but so far the earliest source it can be traced back to is O'Kearney, N. The Prophecies of Ss. Columbkille, Maeltamlacht, Ultan, Seadhna, Coireall, Bearcan, Malachy, &tc (Dublin: John O’Daly, 1856) – a book which is known to contain many spurious prophecies formulated as rhetoric for the 1798 Irish rebellion. It is possible that this quatrain is based on an earlier source or tradition, such as the Leabhar Breac, but currently its origins remains untraceable. It is unlikely that the original prophecy was made by St. Colmcille, but instead may have developed from the earlier, almost certainly authentic literature concerning the life of St. Patrick.
The prophecy of Ireland being destroyed by end-time floods is intimately related to the other material in Public and private revelation which tells of an eschatological inundation, and seems to be inextricably linked to the threat posed by the collapse of the volcano Cumbre Vieja into the Atlantic ocean (see the earlier post Mega-tsunami, where I show how this event is connected with the "great mounatin, burning with fire" being thrown into the sea in Rev 8:8, as well as several other biblical passages).
As we can see from the diagram below, Ireland is one of the countries that would be most affected be a mega-tsunami generated by the collapse of the volcano Cumbre Vieja in the Canary Islands.

This would lead us to ask why Ireland seems to be the sole focus of the prophecy of St. Patrick? Why would when there are so many other countries in even greater risk from this catastrophe. One explanation may be found in the fact that this prediction was made almost one thousand years before the discovery of America by the Europeans. The other countries which will be affected by this disaster would simply have been unknown to the saint.

According to Christian prophetic tradition, the tribulation period at the end-time (which includes the reign of the Antichrist) will last for a total of seven years. The fact that the prophecy of St. Patrick foretells that Ireland would be destroyed by the sea seven years before the last day in order to spare the Irish from the reign of the Antichrist therefore suggests that the rule of this end-time tyrant will only take place after the catastrophic flooding caused by the collapse of the volcano Cumbre Vieja into the sea. http://unveilingtheapocalypse.blogspot.com/2011/10/st-patrick-and-end-time-flood-of.html

    Hi,
Just found your Blog on the St Patrick Prophecy of a great wavedestroying Ireland.

One interpretation of "No Barbaian Nation" that would fit with what happened is that, when the Normans invaded, they were Christian. The AntiChrist will obviously be a barbarian an the prophecy probably means that, we will not be ruled by him...

Does anyone know of the prophecy about St Thomas and the stone in India. The jist of it is that when he went there he laid a stone/rock a certain distance from the shore and said when the water reached the stone it would be the end of the world .I remember reading it in a Catholic magazine 10 or 15 years ago .Apparently the water is very close now. I think it is near St Thomas's Cathedral in India

when I read this again last night I could not help think that the recent events in derry might actually be connected news here http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-22828351
I also remembered one of St Patrick's visions that I posted before...
"The Angel answered and told him to look to the north of the land, and that there he should see the Hand of the Most High. The Saint lifted up his eyes, and, behold, a little light arose in Uladh (Ulster), which had struggled long in the darkness, until at length the whole island was filled with the brightness of its glory, and Ireland returned to its first state of all-pervading fire."

I am afraid that the legalising of the murder of unborn babies in their mothers wombs may be the last straw. God has shown great restraint in not destroying nations that have done so. However in the case of Catholic Ireland:

    Luke 12:48
But the one who does not know and does things deserving punishment will be beaten with few blows. From everyone who has been given much, much will be demanded; and from the one who has been entrusted with much, much more will be asked.

We will not be, 'Beaten with few blows', because we have been entrusted with many, many great graces.

Our Lady in apparitions at Mount Mellary warned several years ago that if Ireland did not', 'Become ten times better' we would be punished by water'.

We did not become ten times better, in fact we became a hundred times worse. Actions have consequences.

But I don't think we need loose hope . We have only to walk around the Churches in Ireland and attend mass to see their are still many, many saints and people of real holiness in what was once known as, 'The island of saints and scholars'. as Ireland was once known.

    As scripture teaches,

    Proverbs 3:12
because the LORD disciplines those he loves, as a father the son he delights in.

    ..and ..

    Job 5:17

"Blessed is the one whom God corrects; so do not despise the discipline of the Almighty.

When these times come upon us..and they are not far off....our judgement will come from water, not from the sky but the sea itself, from the West shall rise against us to blot out our offence. But after the night is the cleansing morning and after the flood the rainbow.

I'm having a hard time dealing with An Taoiseach's comments over the weekend, in response to Archbishop Diarmuid Martin's call for a free vote on the Abortion Bill (yes, I know the bill goes by some other euphemism):

"Mr Kenny said: “Governments are elected to govern and the mandate given to this government was very strong indeed."

Now here's the thing. When deciding to vote for Fine Gael candidates I did my research. The local candidates, and Enda Kenny, replied to my e-mails assuring me of their continued pro-life stance. That's why I voted for them, and that's the mandate I gave them.

I feel so, so angry!:(

    Mmm - politicians

What is the different between a magician and a politician?
The magician returns your watch at the end of the performance.

How do you when a politician is lieing?
    - His lips are moving.

I remember I had a lady call round at the last election and I asked her her party's attitude to abortion. She hesitated and asked me what my own attitude to abortion was? I knew at once she was waiting to here this to give me an answer that would suit me. When I told her I was pro life I got a long spiel on how pro life her party was. Of course after the election they wanted' Women's Rights' like crazy.

I am beginning to realise more and more we need a Catholic Party here in Ireland or at least a Christian Party, we can't rely on seculars to do the buisness, they are more and more out there in orbit. Some of them are not in orbit at all, goodness knows where they will lend up...

Perhaps Declan Ganley might be a worthy alternative!

Ganley: No political party represents the moderate, pro-life constituency

Businessman Declan Ganley is holding a public meeting next week as efforts to form a new political party gather pace but he is coy on whether or not he’ll definitely form a new party.

Posters advertising a public meeting with Declan Ganley have been appearing around Dublin this week
BUSINESSMAN DECLAN GANLEY is holding a public meeting next week as efforts to form a new political party gather pace although he insisted yesterday that there is no firm decision made on whether or not he’ll set up a new party.
Billboards advertising ‘Alternatives for Ireland’ with a picture of the Libertas founder have begun appearing around Dublin city centre this week ahead of the meeting planned for next Wednesday where UCD banking and finance professor Ray Kinsella will also speak.
Ganley told TheJournal.ie yesterday that the meeting will be “discussing alternatives to the current status quo in Irish political thinking” on a range of issues from economics to abortion.
“There is a sort of political status quo that holds sway in everything right across the board, from economics, policy towards job creation, and taxation,” he said.
“You couldn’t put a cigarette paper between all the main parties on these issues.”
He said meetings had taken place with people of no strong political affiliation as well as people currently in existing political parties in recent weeks but was not definitive on whether or not he will be forming a new political party.
He added: “If it is to happen it has to be from the grassroots. It can’t be about one person. It can’t be about, for example, me. It has to be a real movement that is addressing issues that are of core relevance.”
Ganley has previously said that the need for a new political party in Ireland is “obvious”.
Speaking yesterday, he said there was a lack of “conviction politics” in Ireland: “There is a significant portion of people out there who are in something of a stupor, who have deliberately tuned out of politics.”
Ganley, whose pan-European Libertas movement failed in the 2009 European elections, also said a significant proportion of the population are not being represented” on the issue of abortion, raising concerns about the Protection of Life during Pregnancy Bill’s clause concerning suicide and the lack of term limits.
“What is surprising is that there is a middle of the road, moderate, pro-life constituency that is very significant in Ireland that has got no voice,” he said. “There is no political party that is representing that voice in the Oireachtas.”
Ganley claimed that the Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin, who supports the legislation, is “way to the left” of the Labour Party chairman Colm Keaveney, who has outlined his opposition to the Bill.
“It’s a bizarre situation where you find the leader of Fianna Fáil out to the extreme left of the chairman of the Labour Party,” he said.

I attended Saturdays pro life vigil. At the vigil it was conservatively estimated that 50,000 had turned our for it. RTE tried to say 15,000 but had to eventually agree to about 30,000. Sundays papers hadent a word about it. This has been the biggest march for any issue in the past few years and it is not newsworthy. We are really living in a dictatorship now. Editors and journalists should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves for betraying their profession and colluding with this type of dictatorship. We now have to fight twice as hard to be heard so anyone who can get writing to the TD's and government reps to protest. Enda Kenny refuses to allow people to excercise their concience in voting. Who would believe that we have arrived at this place? The fighting Irish need to start fighting a lot harder. I am pretty mad right now.

I was there too, I believe it was in excess of 40,000. There were 30,000 in January and and this was far bigger! :) I just lobbied my local TD for the umpteenth time.

We need people who pray to lead us.

But before we get people who pray, we must pray for people who pray.

And Ireland has always turned a blind eye to the many girls & women who made the trip across the Irish sea to Britain to have abortions in the Marie Stopes clinics & others. The above link & my post highlights the utter hypocrisy of the Irish elite & I'm sorry to say the Irish citizen because it's our sisters, daughters & mothers who underwent these procedures...
