My favorite Early Church Father. One fact that pleases me greatly is a commendation from Saint Polycarp in regard to Ignatius. Polycarp writes to the Church in Philippi: 13:2 We are sending to you the letters of Ignatius that were sent to us by him together with any others that we have in our possession, just as you requested. They are appended to this letter; you will be able to receive great benefit from them, for they deal with faith and patient endurance and every kind of spiritual growth that has to do with our Lord. In this one discovers the probable method of obtaining copies of what was considered not only Scripture, but also writings of early faithful Catholic clergy. Praise God for His One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church!
