Some one sent me a PM as follows:

I had to laugh Padraig- you are camping yet still typing away to reply to us all- Some break lol. You probably have better reception in whatever mountain you are in than I do here not far from
    @@!!

Anyway at the risk of sounding stupid or clueless- Can I ask why everyone is so concerned about the Pope and climate change? I can see no wrong in him wanting to do his best with this Earth. After all in our beloved novena to Our Lady of Perpetual help there was a change in the wording in the thanksgiving prayer from thank you ........for giving us this earth to use and develop, to respect and cherish (previously to use and develop, to rule and control).

I must be missing something as so many people on the forum have some serious concerns. Maybe you could enlighten me? I know there has been talk in the past of Pope Paul I having been murdered and conspiracy theories but I really cannot see why people are so suspicious over Pope Francis??

I was thinking about this question while I was away. I must admit I don't get too excited about Climate Change myself. I have noticed that im some places , particularly the USA it has become highly political so some people think Pope Francis is kind of taking political , 'Sides'.

But I admit I was very surprised to see that one Bishop at least believes that Climate Change is part of the offical teachings of the Catholic Church.

"Bishop Marcelo Sanchez Sorondo, chancellor of the Pontifical
Academy of Sciences, insisted the Pope’s support for climate-change
science is not mere opinion, but part of the ordinary magisterium, and
so is owed the same obedience by the faithful as the recognition that
abortion is a mortal sin (which is also part of the ordinary
    magisterium, he pointed out)."

Concerning people being suspcious of Pope Francis. I think it is a little like this. Imagine a village which is owned by one great landlord and has been for many , many generations. Now imagine this landlord retires and other landlord takes over. This new landlord announces he is about to make great changes. Other landlords who have taken over in the past have made changes of course but these were more in line , usually with redecoration but this new landlord (Pope Francis) announced that there is going to be a , 'revolution', in the Church:

    http://www.christiantoday.com/artic...bottom.of.inverted.pyramid.holy.see/68132.htm

So it is not just a matter of the decorating it is a matter of walls being knocked down, it will be structural.

So I suppose this is why some of the tenants of the Landlord are getting excited.:)

I think it is a bit like a pendulum , you push it one way , it is going to swing back in an other.
Or like dropping a stone in a pond and causing ripples, the bigger the stone , the bigger the ripples.

    It is to be expected.

I don't know myself why some are really wound up as tight as they are over the pope. My feeling is most of the worries about the pope are around what he might do. People are really allowing worst case scenarios run off in their minds. A result of this is they are not living in the present, which is what we are supposed to be doing. And it seems to erode their trust in God and God's control of the church. This is just my opinions and observations...hopefully I won't get hammered too badly for expressing them!!

As far as climate change, I really don't think the pope has more of an agenda other than taking care of the earth and poor nations. Maybe others around him do (bishops and cardinals), but I don't think the pope. So many here associate climate change with globalists, elitists, NWO, etc. And this might be true, but since pope francis does not watch tv or the internet in years, I don't think he is knowingly working with these groups. I can personally see how politics, especially obama, is using climate change as a political weapon and I don't like it, but it seems praying is the best way to improve this situation, and not letting worst case scenarios take off in my mind.

We are living in end times, so to some degree I expect these things to happen. My job is to stay even keeled, prayful, and faithful to the catholic church. God is in control and let Him take care of his church. I pray the pope surrounds himself with better more prayful people, but I have to trust that God is taking care of His church. And live in the present moment, praying and doing your daily duties...otherwise you will get caught up in all the pope headlines and then your mind goes to the worst case scenario...then you know who is playing you like a fiddle...

    I have Stilled My Soul
1A Song of Ascents, of David. O LORD, my heart is not proud, nor my eyes haughty; Nor do I involve myself in great matters, Or in things too difficult for me. 2Surely I have composed and quieted my soul; Like a weaned child rests against his mother, My soul is like a weaned child within me.…

I for one do not have a problem with Pope Francis, but I do have a problem with some of the positions he takes on issues, such as climate change. Mark Mallett say's it better then I could ever say it http://www.markmallett.com/blog/climate-change-and-the-great-delusion/. Never forget, most of those who are in control of the climate change (global warming) theory are also Pro-abortion and anti-population growth. There are bigger, more evil reasons to prop up this agenda and it will cause more poor and vulnerable people as they begin to pay the 'carbon tax', which is just another way for the global elite to control YOU.

    Mark writes, "
    POPE FRANCIS AND “CLIMATE CHANGE”

Among the most powerful delusions at this moment, in my opinion, is the suspicion held by a growing number in the Church that the Holy Father is a [IMG]wolf in sheep’s clothing. This has only been fueled further by Pope Francis’ embrace of man-made “global warming”. From his recent encyclical:

…a number of scientific studies indicate that most global warming in recent decades is due to the great concentration of greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxides and others) released mainly as a result of human activity… The same mindset which stands in the way of making radical decisions to reverse the trend of global warming also stands in the way of achieving the goal of eliminating poverty.Laudato si’, n. 23, 175

Indeed, according to Reuters, Pope Francis went so far as to say recently that, unless something is done in Paris on global warming, the world will be “at the limits of suicide.”[2]cf. Reuters, Nov. 30th, 2015 There is, of course, such as thing as climate change. It has been happening since the earth was born. However, the question here is whether we are seeing “man-made global warming.”..........................................

The violence present in our hearts, wounded by sin, is also reflected in the symptoms of sickness evident in the soil, in the water, in the air and in all forms of life. —POPE FRANCIS, Laudato si’, n. 2

Nonetheless, “man-made global warming”—not this poisoning, not Islamic terrorism, crippling national debt, a “third world war” or cyber attacks—has emerged as the “greatest threat to future generations”, according to the President of the United States. [3]CNSnews.com; Jan. 20th, 2015

…as though Muslim terrorists are sitting around in Syria making nefarious plans to expend carbon, cursing the new Global Alliance Against Cow Farts. —Ben Shapiro, Nov. 30th, 2015; Brietbart.com

    THE CHILL OF GLOBAL WARMING

I spent eight years in television journalism; I was awarded Canadian documentary of the Year for a medium-sized market.[5]cf. watch What in the World is Going On? I say this because I have always striven then, and now, to be objective; to carefully examine claims and evidence, whether religious or secular. Which is why the unfettered embrace of “man-made” global warming without any room for dissent, is disturbing. The reason is that the history and science behind this hypothesis is both questionable and dark. But first, the science…

We are told that it is settled—that “99.5 percent of scientists and 99 percent of world leaders” are in consensus that global warming is man-made.[6]President Barack Obama, Dec. 2nd, 2015, CNSnews.com And yet, climate change scientists were caught red-handed fudging data in the infamous “Climategate” scandal that was [IMG]quickly swept under the carpet.[7]cf. “Climategate, the sequel: How we are STILL being tricked with flawed data on global warming”; The Telegraph Furthermore, as the U.S. Chairman of the House Committee on Science, Space, and Technology noted recently in The Washington Times, The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) is deliberately leaving out crucial satellite data from its climate projections.

Atmospheric satellite data, considered by many to be the most objective, has clearly showed no warming for the past two decades. This fact is well documented, but has been embarrassing for an administration determined to push through costly environmental regulations. —Lamar Smith, The Washington Times, Nov. 26th, 2015

Why? Why would scientists and politicians fudge data or adopt a dictatorial position on man-made climate change? A surprising answer came from no less than the co-founder of Greenpeace, a radical environmentalist group.

Climate change has become a powerful political force for many reasons. First, it is universal; we are told everything on Earth is threatened. Second, it invokes the two most powerful human motivators: fear and guilt… [IMG]Third, there is a powerful convergence of interests among key elites that support the climate “narrative.” Environmentalists spread fear and raise donations; politicians appear to be saving the Earth from doom; the media has a field day with sensation and conflict; science institutions raise billions in grants, create whole new departments, and stoke a feeding frenzy of scary scenarios; business wants to look green, and get huge public subsidies for projects that would otherwise be economic losers, such as wind farms and solar arrays. Fourth, the Left sees climate change as a perfect means to redistribute wealth from industrial countries to the developing world and the UN bureaucracy. —Dr. Peter Moore, P.h.d., co-founder of Greenpeace; “Why I am a Climate Change Skeptic”, March 20th, 2015; new.hearttland.org

In a new documentary called the “Climate Hustle”, thirty renowned scientists and climate experts have stepped forward to challenge the oft fraudulent claims and unscientific approach to climate change. In fact, several well-respected scientists, studying the long-term and enigmatic cycles of the solar sun, are suggesting that the earth could be headed into a period of global-cooling, if not a mini-ice age.[8]cf. “Sun’s bizarre activity may trigger another ice age”, July 12th, 2013; The Irish Times; see also The Daily Caller But that science is mostly being ignored. For one, there is no money to be made on “global cooling.”

I read many years ago that some saint or other was told by Our Lord that when sin grows in the population; there is a reaction in nature itself.

It is as if nature rebels against humanity, when humanity rebels against God.

Now the interesting thing is, as we hear of the degeneration among the peoples of the earth, we are also hearing of more and more changes with the climate. And all scientists are not in agreement with this climate warming mullarky.

It appears that the solution to the problems with the climate comes back to the people on the planet. It seems to be a Spiritual problem surfacing on the physical plane. Just like how wars break out. First a break down on the Spiritual plane (sin) followed by a break down on the physical plane in the form of Wars.

The Holy Father Francis makes a reference in a way to this in Laudato si, shown in the post quoting from Mark Mallet above. Sorry, I was not able to copy and paste it here.
