Reading scripture there is an implication that the second coming happens over a period of time. 3 to 3and a half years . That the " sign of the son of man appears in the skies " . It is described that Jesus comes back in his glorified state - what the apostles see at the transfiguration, him shining as light as the sun. It's also described that way in the book of revelation. Has the church not explored this?
There is a painting by Dali called Christ of St. John of the Cross. Dali took his inspiration from a sketch by St. John of the Cross, and he actually had a model who agreed to hang from wires while he painted the pic so as to get an authentic image. It's fascinating to me that Dali took this on, given his other works. Anyway, when reading St. Faustina's diary, and her description of the warning, this painting came to my mind, because there are no nails depicted. There will be a great darkness over the whole earth. Then a great sign of the cross will appear in the sky. From the openings from where the hands and feet of the savior were nailed will come forth great lights which will light up the earth for a period of time. This will happen before the very final days. It is the sign for the end of the world. After it will come the days of justice! Let souls have recourse to the fount of my mercy while there is still time! Woe to him who does not recognize the time of my visitation…
It wasn't "secret" the first time He was here. And there were many who didn't recognize Him then.....

All light in the heavens will be extinguished, and there will be great darkness over the whole earth. Then the sign of the Cross will be seen in the sky, and from the holes where the hands and the feet of the Savior were nailed will come forth a brilliant light, which will illuminate the Earth for a period of time. Are you saying; When the "sign of the son of man appears in the skies", this event takes 3 1/2 years to complete?
I have reason to think that He's coming first for his elect 144000 and then after 3 1/2 years returning at the end of time. The parable of the 10 virgins indicate He is coming first to close the door of mercy. Those unprepared will go through the great tribulation. That is what I think so far.
Padrepiofan. Find a traditional Catholic priest (ask other Catholics for some names of good, traditional priests in your area). Ask for a meeting with him. Explain to him why you have doubts about your past confessions. Your doubts might be valid or completely unfounded. People on the internet will not be able to properly guide you.
Matthew 24:30 “At the time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming from the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory.” All shall see the sign and the Son of Man.. What this sign is - has often been attributed as being a Cross.. That does not definitively mean that it shall be a cross... nor is it IMO of any weighty necessity to have to know - for, whatever it is? .. All shall know.
