Number of masses recommended for a soul in Purgatory

    I remember Jesse Romero an interview saying that there was a number of masses recommended to free a soul from Purgatory, does anyone know what that number is? I’ve been offering masses for the repose of a soul who was close to someone I know. I’m looking for that old interview now.

    He may have been talking about having Gregorian Masses said for a soul. Thirty Masses--one a day for 30 days. Very very efficacious. The Marian/Divine Mercy fathers will do them. I have had priests tell me this is traditionally believed to free the soul.

    I had a priest recommend that I have Gregorian Masses offered for the repose of the soul of my brother. As AED said, Marian Fathers will do them. So will Seraphic Mass online. Thirty days, one a day for thirty days.

    I also had the 30 day Gregorian Masses offered for my brother’s soul.

    One from the heart..
    Next time you receive offer your communion unselfishly for that soul. Give it to St Michael the guardian of purgatory and plead the intercession of our Holy Mother by praying Hail Holy Queen for the release of that soul..
    That's my prayer before communion (y)
