karl marx for example. His sins were atheist, blasphemy, etc (as well as private sins, not relevant here, such as drunkenness and child neglect). However, is he retro-actively(?) guilty for the sins commited by communists historically? He fostered a situation, but does sin affect him in such a non-linear-time way? Or muhammad, while having the sins of heresy,is he responsible for example what isis has done in this century, following his book? (I guess that likewise, maybe for example the doctor who finds an important cure is awarded merit according to how many people get their life saved from it??)
One is only accountable for personal sins or good works done in their lifetimes. Ezekiel 36:6 When a righteous man turns away from his righteousness and commits iniquity, he shall die for it; for the iniquity which he has committed he shall die. 27 Again, when a wicked man turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is lawful and right, he shall save his life. 28 Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions which he had committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die. Above, it states we are accountable for our sins unless we repent. Hebrews 9:27 states ...it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment. Certainly, we are responsible for the bad example we give during our lifetime, but our personal judgment will not include the reaction of others after the moment of our death, because each of our judgments follow immediately. O Mary conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
I don't know Terry. I was reading St Robert Bellarmine thins morning concerning heaven. He was talking about the 12 gates of Heaven which are based on the Faith of the Twelve Apostles. Because they believed, we believe. Simliarly in Scripture we are taught the Faith of Abraham ,who agreed to slaughter his only son opens faith to us all. Might it not also be said that those who open the doors to evil will be punished for those who open the doors to great evil? For instance the arch heretic Martin Luther? He opened doors of evil better left closed. Actions have consequences. At his Particular Judgement might he not be judged for what is to come as well as to what has actually occurred? We are like stone thrown into the pond of Eternity. Might God not follow those ripples through time? Actions have consequences even into the future. Backwards and forwards. Ripples.
