I have read on this forum the idea that Christ descended, upon His death, into Gehenna (that portion of Hell where Satan and the demons live) whereas I had always been taught that He descended into Sheol (that portion of Hell where the souls of the righteous resided prior to the Crucifixion since heaven was closed to the souls until that time). I am glad that Taylor Marshall made the attached video explaining things. Incidentally, Sheol should logically be 'Paradise' since Jesus told Dismas (the good thief) on Good Friday that 'Today you will be with me in Paradise'. Whereas he told Mary Magdalen on Easter Sunday that He had not yet risen to the Father so He was with Dismas in some other place than heaven - presumably where He went to release the souls of the just - Sheol. That's interesting. There were some videos posted from 99 Catholics youtube channel where it said that some souls, possibly wandering souls do not seem to know whether they are saved or not. St. Faustina had a visitation from one of the deceased sisters in her own order who seemed to think she was damned even after St. Faustina's prayers (but she was finally saved by the prayers). The reason I say this is that there may be levels of Hell, or between Hell and Purgatory, where the destination of souls is not fixed yet - a kind of last chance saloon. In the following video it is suggested that Jesus went to preach to souls in the afterlife. And that an exorcist priest was asked by deceased spirits for absolution which he gave to them. Maybe that is what is meant by The Harrowing of Hell?
