I have received a lot of estampitas (small prayer cards) and read biographies of saints, but I never came across a catholic book or card about praying to OT saints and prophets. And I haven't seen them referred with the title saint ("saint abraham",etc) is this merely a linguistic or formality issue? Or a cultural thing? I feel more connected to some OT saints since they lived "in the world" : doing business , campaigns etc, which is what I must do now and for some years. working, study, work more etc.
I think OT saints are in heaven. They can certainly be asked for intercession. We know Jesus went to the righteous dead and took them to heaven with him during the time He was in the tomb. "He descended into hell..."
Abraham and the other OT Patriarchs are saints of the Roman Catholic Church! https://www.ncregister.com/blog/st-abraham-a-saint-with-tremendous-trust-in-the-lord
interesting; Elijah seems like a timeless biblical character since he was raptured body and soul to heaven and according to some scholars of the book of apocalypse he would return at the end of time as one of the two martyrs witnesses who will unmask the antichrist.
Also interesting that in the Jewish tradition, an empty chair and place is set at Passover for the return of Elijah !
