I would like you all to pray for my family's employment situation. My wife, who is greatly respected for her work ethic and loving care of patients, was recently laid off from her Part-Time job due to a reduced caseload. Well, I had to step up to the plate to try to fill in the gap since Geralyn would prefer to stay home anyway. I interviewed for a Part-Time position at the nearby central library and will find out next week. There were 3 others competing for the job. If I get it, my commitments would obviously increase as I run my own business as well. Fortunately, that is mainly in the evening! God's Will be done! I just had to say that considering the Sacred Triduum we are all celebrating! Thanks for your support. Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
I'll pray over in the monastery this morning Terry, when I'm over for ester confession. Churches feel strange without the Real Presence up there!!
Terry, I will include your situation in my prayer requests. You have been so supportive and encouraging to all on the forum. I do appreciate all you do for us and you and your dear family deserve the best. God bless Mary
Thanks for your prayers! Hey everyone, Your support is much appreciated, however, God has other plans for me. Any clerical positions open over there, Padraig? Shalom!
Answered prayer-all in good time! This last two weeks have been special to me. I asked for prayer some time ago when my wonderful wife, Geralyn, had been laid off from her part-time job. We decided It would be best if she stayed home full-time while I pursued further employment. It has been seven months without finding a good fit. Anyway, my daughter Rachel started a novena to the Little Flower to assist me in my efforts; it was scheduled to end on October 1, her feastday. Within the framework of the novena, I responded to an ad, was involved in an initial telephone interview, and had a second interview in person. Finally, on last Wednesday, October 1, The position was offered me and I accepted! God is good! St. Therese strikes again! In case you haven't heard, it seems God has chosen the Little Flower as our family saint. We have a picture of my Grandfather Dan standing at Therese's gravesite in 1909, just 12 years after her death, and 16 years before her canonization. He was blessed to receive a lock of her hair at that time (location now unknown), and quickly developed a devotion. In 1948, he published a book of religious poems dedicated to her; he had great confidence in her friendship. Here are some other interesting holy coincidences: I was born on Jan. 2, her birthday, and named Terrence (not Mario). Near the end my years of rebellion, the Lord planted me in a parish named in her honor; it was there that my conversion took place in 1977. In 1979-80, I shared an apartment with a Little Flower devotee, who introduced me to, Story of a Soul, which touched me deeply. She had such a love for Scripture, as do I. Our oldest son, Benjamin, a religious in Italy, was born on Therese's feastday, Oct.1. A few days after learning Geralyn was pregnant with our sixth child, my guardian angel told me it was a girl and that we should name her Therese. It makes me realize with renewed freshness that we are never alone! In these difficult times, friends are only a prayer (or two) away. Praise God! Safe in the Father's Arms.
Terry, I am so very happy you got the job!! I love the way you and your family are so prayerful and have so much faith!! I am just going to mass this morning and I am going to be greedy and beg the Little Flower to grant you another gift. May everything work out brilliant in your new job. I know how nervous it can be starting a new job.I still think the job I have at the minute is the best I have ever had and I am here 15 months now. I am also starting to apply for different promotions. My brother has been telling me how tough it is in the Sates at the minute, he mentioned food kitchens in Detroit!! Please God for the graces to help the poor and hungry. I must keep my eyes open round in my own neighbourhood for people who need help.
Mario-Terry, with those name sakes, how could you go wrong? Congratulations on your patience and pursuit and prayer in gaining the new job. May God protect you in it. Thank you for telling about the influence that St. Teresa has had on your family, it's very uplifting and encouraging. I had recently heard that St. Teresa was a tall girl and a redhead. That they used to tease her calling her "the tall Engish girl". I always think red hair is God's way of warning us what's in the package! All blessings in your new job, may you enjoy every day. Lee
Mario, blessings in your new endeavors. Padraig, I'm glad you found a job you really enjoy. It's a great feeling. My last job was like that.
