To all our friends from USA. The priest today at our daily Mass offered up everything for victims of 9/11 and for America. I too pray today that all the suffering will bring about a great conversion and turning back for all the peoples of USA. God bless Mary
Every morning I head across town to morning mass 7'o clock in Clonard Monastery. To do so I have to cross the heavily Loyalist Shankill Road and across the Peace Line and into the Catholic/Republican Falls Road. I've been doing this for years now, since the Peace Process got under way...I couldn't have done it during the Troubles as the gates would have been closed. The section I cross over has heavy steel automatic gates and are automatically opened from a central police station somewhere or other. The orange lights flash and its like the Berlin Wall. However lately and the gates have been closed so I have had to drive round to find a new way. This worries me; when the Peace Line is closed someone thinks somewhere or other they should be closed...and my mind goes...why???????/ But it cheered me up when I heard a very favourite song Roisin DUbh on Radio Na Gaeltachta; Roisin Dubh is very beautiful and harks back to the time when the Irish were not allowed to politics in their songs...so Roisin Dubh {dark Rosalleen} represents Ireland and her Troubles: Anyhow here is the very song and if it doesn't make you cry, well it ought to!! I dedicate this great lament to the sufferings of a Risen People to all the NYPD , firepeople and ambulance people who died on 9/11. Codladh sámh
