Praying away for those poor people in China and Burma, as I am sure you all are too... Its hard to take such suffering in....
Perspective. Padraig, Last night, my family watched a movie at home, World Trade Center, and it was painful to have those horrid memories of 9/11 stirred up once more. My daughter, Therese, because of her age, was bothered by it for what truly may be the first time. I reminded her of the current tragedies of Burma and China and we were subdued over such sorrow. I recall Father Pavich's teaching during our pilgrimmage in Medjugorje: God always answers prayer, but prayers for the relief of suffering are not always answered as we desire. As we so often pray: Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, Our life, our sweetness, and our hope, To you do we cry, poor banished children of Eve, To you do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears... So often, the Lord simply asks us to extend his mercy and compassion, and wait on Him. Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
The British Foreign Office now estimate the dead at the very least well over 200,000 dead! I remember on the night of 9/11 being on a Catholic internet site and the shock and anger. I remember quoting the words of the psalm, which Saint Paul quotes in Ephesians: Ephesians 4:26 BE ANGRY, AND yet DO NOT SIN; do not let the sun go down on your anger,
