In 2003 I quit my job to become a stay-at-home mom. Trying to re-enter the workforce after such a long time isn't easy. I'm middle-aged and out-of-date now. After throwing numerous resumes out there over the last few months, I've only heard back from one place.

On the bright side, if I had my pick of jobs, the one place that actually called me back was my number one choice. I had an interview at the company last week. There will be a second interview if they're still interested. As the days go by, it's looking less likely that I will get it, but I'm still hoping. I've been asking for St. Joseph's intercession, and Mary's, of course. I could use your prayers as well. Thanks.

You could always take up daycare. My wife did as much and it is a good income and you can write most all your household items purcahased off from your taxes, while you stay home. Just a thought.

God knows your desire and need to work and he will provide the right job for you at the right time. Until then, prayers going up...

I didn't get the job. Pray that something even better lands in my lap. And soon!

When God closes one door, he opens another.

Just an (unsolicited and probably unwanted ;)) thought, but with all that's going on (and possibly coming), maybe God doesn't want you distracted by a job right now?

Regardless - you have my prayers... Hang in there, Rain!

Due to changes in my husband's benefits, I won't be covered under his health insurance anymore, so I can't afford take that attitude. Wish I could though!

You seem to be living a parallel life to me - I left the workforce in 2002 to look after my family. Irrespective of what the reality of the job market is, I just feel so out of touch, out-dated, and irrelevant that I'd have no idea how to get back out there. Thankfully I'm not under the pressure you are under so I'll offer my angst and prayers for you.
Every blessing, and St. Joseph's attention for you Rain.

More prayers fro Deanna. Reading these prayer requests teaches me a lot, apart from anything else, one of them being to count my blessings. Praying to st Joe.

I've been using the heavy artillery. I did a novena to St. Joseph and not one, but two novenas to Our Lady Undoer of Knots. Still no employment on the horizon. Makes me wonder if I'm supposed to be impoverished and uninsured. Yowser, I hope not!

I am sorry to hear that Rain. As someone underemployed for a very long time, I can sympathize. I recommend the surrender novena and / or a 54 day rosary novena. But trust is probably the best remedy...although very hard to do. I will keep praying.
