My youngest, 15 months old, had a high fever for 3 days last week. I took him in when it climbed to 104, and they gave him an antibiotic shot for an ear infection. His fever went down the next day, and a couple days later his appetite returned and he seemed to be getting all better. Well now his fever is back...102. I'm so worried. I've never had a kid's fever come back after being on antibiotics and getting better. Please pray that he gets better or we figure out what's wrong.
Keep him cool, a cold washer on his forehead, a fan, paracetamol, and do take him back to the doctor. God bless and I am praying for you
Praying Good advice from Josephite Sometimes ear problems in children are complicated but they can be helped
Thank you everyone. Took him to the doctor and he has a double ear infection. The doc said sometimes when the initial infection heals and the fluid begins to drain, the canal is still swollen just enough to trap the fluid all over again and get re-infected. My son got the antibiotic shot again but will also take oral antibiotics for 10 days. I appreciate your prayers that he gets better. When I was little, I had to have tubes put in my ears for recurring infections. I hope that won't have to be the case for him. He's my little guy, born over 2 weeks early and still in the 5th percentile for weight, so I imagine his tiny ear canals might be more susceptible to trapping fluid.
I thank God for the great gift of your child, May our Merciful Lord, restore perfect health to the child. Amen
Thank you for the update. Still praying. Two of my children suffered from this affliction. Many trips to the MD. But the good news is they grow out of it--often without tubes.
