I just found out tonight that the daughter of a friend of mine is in an abusive relationship that she has not walked away from yet. She is only 20 and in college. This guy is primarily abusive mentally, but also a little physically too. He does stuff like track her on her cell phone so he knows where she is and answers her texts on her phone pretending he is her. At this time last week, she had broken up with him and moved back home. But this week he came over when my friends were out of town dropping their other daughter off at college, and again convinced her to go back to him. She is living with him and his two friends at the moment. He has isolated her from her college friends, so she does not have a support system there. Her high school friends had an intervention meeting and told her to stop seeing this guy, as well as her sister and all of her family. He has convinced her everyone is against them. She has broken up with him 3 times but still goes back to him each time. My friends (her parents) are very worried and we all think it is a dangerous situation for her. They have cut off all financial help for her that he may benefit from and taken her car. They have told her that she is always welcome home but he can not come to their house. In fact, one time they broke up and she had moved back home, he used a key hidden outside to come into their house at night when my friends were asleep and went in her room and convinced her to go back to him. My friends have installed security cameras in their house so they know when he trespasses (which is how they knew he was there when they were out of town), and the police have contacted him to let him know he will be arrested for trespassing if he goes to their house again. I have known her since she was a toddler and she is smart and confident, so don't understand why she does not walk away. She can live at home and go to school so I pray she leaves this guy and moves back home for good. Her name is Melissa so please pray for her. Thanks prayer warriors!!
Prayers will be said for Melissa that our Lord and Blessed Mother show her what danger she has put herself in.
Jesus please bless and keep this woman and cover her in the precious blood, please protect her from all harm, console her. Please also cover the abusers in the precious blood that they may be converted and repent and leave her in peace.
Praying. Sounds like she is addicted to the person. That's one addiction people don't really talk about much, but is very common. It is not based on love, or even like sometimes, just ownership, mistrust, and drama usually on both ends. If she is in this kind of relationship while she is this young it will probably be a lifelong thing of one after the other. She needs help realizing what a true love relationship is.

Intelligence and confidence have nothing to do with it. It sounds like the man has narcissistic personality disorder and may be a sociopath also. They are masters at deception and at distorting reality. And tossing out just enough crumbs of affection that the victim then struggles with extreme cognitive dissonance. His boldness at breaking into the parents house is especially worrisome. The abuse will only get worse and this poor girl may very well be in danger for her life. Would she consider talking to a holy priest? Step up your prayers for this girl, she needs them
Sorry, I did something wrong there, my second post is a reply to the quote from the OP in my first post
Good news. Melissa moved out and back with her parents over Christmas college break. Her dad and uncle moved out her furniture as well, which was pretty much everything in the apartment, leaving just the power strips in the walls. The guys she lived with I am sure were surprised when they got back from break to an empty apartment. Please pray that she stays with her parents where they have a restraining order against him and she is safe. Thank you for your prayers for Melissa!
Wonderful PS! Thanks for the update. Hopefully she will stay where she is safe and get her life together.
