Here I am asking for prayers again. My sister and dad have moved on from the city into their country home and we are still waiting with no definite end in sight. Our house is sitting on the land waiting for electricity before anyone wants to do any further work on it. No one told us it would be on us to make sure electricity was out there in time. They told us earlier that they would take care of that as long as we set up an account with the electric company, which we did--3 months ago. So now I'm calling daily trying to get the one engineer they have to call me back and set up a time to meet out there to figure out where they're going to run the line. I feel so helpless as I wait and wait while my house sits in the terrible TX humid heat with its inner walls cracked from transit and the windows open to whatever rain decides to come through. Our apartment lease ends on August 5. They can't guarantee us our house will be ready to move into by then, so we just had to get on a month-by-month rent plan starting in August just in case. And now we've been informed that the interest we're paying monthly on our construction loan is going to go up by $1,000 every remaining month that the house isn't finished yet. My poor husband is so stressed and very unhappy that this was never told to him from the beginning. I keep telling him God will provide but this has been so hard! Please pray that the electricity gets put out there as soon as possible! And please pray for my poor husband who is getting hit with one big stress after another no matter how hard he tries to pray and trust in God. There's so much more I don't even have time to describe here. And to add insult to injury, he was stung by a wasp on the forehead yesterday while trying to clear some weeds along the road in front of our land in the blazing heat. On a happy note, I discovered the fruits growing on at least two trees on our land are persimmons.
Just talking to my husband. He is a retired lineman from Detroit Edison. He thinks someone is not doing their job. He is wondering if you can contact your county building inspector to put the rush on them. He is also wondering why your contractors can’t use generators to work on whatever they need to do. Also a lot depends on how far they have to run the lines and where the closest line is located. I’m thinking you have a modular home that was delivered? Just wondering. Moving is so stressful, been there done that. St Joseph could help you out with this dilemma. Will pray for you.
There is electricity along the road our house is on; they just have to run a line from the road to our house which is not very far back. Maybe two poles. Yes it's a modular home. The two halves have been joined together, but that's it, since it arrived 2 weeks ago. We're definitely praying to St. Joseph!
Frustrating situation PF. Adding my prayers to St. Joseph to resolve the difficulties with the electricity hook up.
Praying! Hope you get your electricity soon! Is so hard to get anything done these days. I am trying to get natural gas which was installed on my road a few years ago. Last year I applied at the beginning of spring and didn't hear from them until October in which I already had bought a tank of LP Gas. I now need a new furnace and applied again in March and still haven't heard anything nor can I get hold of them. My neighbors are going through the same thing. It seems since Covid nothing can be done on a timely manner anymore....
It could also be an exercise on how to live off the grid. We just installed a wood burner because we went through several days of no electric last winter from the ice storm. We were able to heat with some portable propane heaters. But it made us think about how we would cope if we had to live like the Amish. Time to work on a plan. Heaven has been telling us this for quite a long time now.
Silly question could you not get a sub contractor to do the poles and then force the elec company to connect... Seeing as little therese must be bored with all my little messages she is sending I'll ask her two sort both electric and gas problems for you both
I can only think of the chapter Job in the Bible, regarding your sharing.... My husband and I have seen an increase in suffering in our family and circumstances as well. I believe we will see more and it's part of our purification. I will keep you husband in prayer. I believe most will be without electricity soon.....we are entering hard times. But Gods grace will help us endure. All suffering and joy can be used for our good, if we completely trust He is in our midst.
I am feeling the same thing. Not counting on electric anymore. Too many warnings are appearing, not just from prophets but by scientists and secular leaders. Well St. Therese sure got on that fast. Basically the moment you posted this, the engineer called me and said he's on his way to our land to figure out where to run the line!
I agree that electricity may be a thing of the past soon...especially when the Chastisement comes. I just need the electric set up so that everyone will resume progress on my house. I'd love to be living there, and not here in the city in an apartment, when things go down! We're getting a wood-burning fireplace, and have a hand pump on our well, for the very purpose of being able to live without electricity one day.
