Dear friends, I had a minor heart attack this week. It’s certainly not my first; I had triple bypass 12 years ago. Unfortunately my heart is so full of scar tissue from prior ischemic episodes that there’s nothing left to stent or bypass to. Technically I’m a candidate for a heart transplant but I refuse to go down that route because the organ procurement process is so grossly immoral. I’m generally exhausted and short of breath with minimal exertion. This is on top of the chronic post stroke fatigue I already fight daily post multiple strokes. I’m certainly “ready to go” at any time. Such would actually be a great relief, not something to be feared. But because I’m on my own, with no contact with my wife and children for six years now, I really have no one to fall back on should I need assistance. My prayer is that I stay in a state of Grace and persevere as long as The Lord permits me, and still be able to do some wood turning, which isn’t physically demanding. I have several commissions that were paid for up front, so I need to get these done and shipped out. I could very well live a long long time yet, but this week was the first time I ever experienced symptoms of a heart attack. My prior ones were “silent.” So this has me a bit concerned and, frankly, downhearted. So I’d truly appreciate your prayers. God bless you all, Brian
Remembering that this is the month of the Sacred Heart, I will bind your ailing heart to Jesus'. May there be a miracle for you.
Prayers, Brian. “He heals all our infirmities, He pardons all our iniquities, by His stripes we are healed.”
Dearest Brian only just seeing this. Yes yes you are in my prayers. God bless and keep you in strength snd courage and consolation.
Oh, Brian, we all will pray for you! It was Sister Marie Mandat - Grancey, who I believe cured my husband from his heart condition. May she help you as well.
Prayers for your recovery Brian, it's not easy to endure serious health issues when you are alone. God bless you.
Just saw this this morning Brian and will pray for your intentions. I'd also like to share something that I recently learned. Do you know about the benefits of cayenne pepper for the heart? I discovered this recently and find it amazing - it apparently acts on the blood very quickly (thinner) and there is a lot of anecdotal evidence that it can help with a heart attack within seconds. Some people carry it with them all the time in case of emergency. You're a doctor and you know where to look for the research, so I won't post any here, but the active ingredient is capsaicin and there is some research to support this - though not much because for obvious reasons. If you want some leads, let me know. God Bless
