I've asked for prayers for my brother Joseph on here many times...and he's gone all the way from not wanting to hear about God to answering a call to the priesthood! He is on fire right now...absolutely in love with God, praying, reading spiritual books, going to extra Masses, and wanting to help everyone else in the family get closer to God too. Now I'm coming to ask for prayers for my dad Joe. He's been away from the Church since he divorced my mom 18 years ago. He was raised Baptist, didn't practice as an adult, then converted to Catholicism halfway through his marriage with my mom. Never really dove fully in to the Faith, just accepted and believed and went to Sunday Mass with the family. So when he divorced my mom, he stopped going to Mass. My sister and I invited him many times over the years and tried getting him to read spiritual books, but he didn't want anything to do with it, mostly out of laziness I think, but also hurt from things with my mom. However, about 3 weeks ago, my 3 siblings and I decided to start fasting for him. He was going downhill in his physical health, and starting to hang out at a bar often getting really drunk and driving home that way! We were so worried and felt that more than just prayer was needed at this point. So we each picked 2 days out of the week to fast for him, completely covering all days except Sunday, to keep a constant rotating fast going. And let me tell you what's happened so far! He stopped getting drunk and is visiting the bar way less often. His health problems have nearly vanished and he has energy again! He went to Mass with my sister last week, and he's going to come to two Latin Masses with me and my brother and sister this weekend! He's never been to a Latin Mass before! I'm so excited. I'm asking for prayers that he will be moved to repentance, go to confession, and truly want to return to the Faith and really put God first in his life. Please pray that God will move his heart in a profound way during one of these next Masses. Thank you so much!
Wow!! It looks like all the heavy lif2mting is already done But mass and prayers to St Charbel this morning
Awesome efforts, and awesome payoffs. You have done well. What a great example, as well. I will pray.
You are graced with a gift that seems rare today: an extended family living the Faith! Prayers! O Mary conceived without sin. pray for us who has recourse to thee!
Yes, this is a blessing that has taken many prayers and tears for nearly 20 years! Thanks for your prayers!
This week- hopefully tomorrow I will offer a half of my holy hour for your Dad. I think fasting is the frosting on the cake so I think I must start for my family also.
